    Chapter 1

    Charlotte.

Charlotte Babineaux wakes up the day of her 17th birthday Monday, August 1, 2011. She stretches and moans relieving her body from the muscles sleeping the night before. Charlotte is truly a wonderful, and beautiful person. She has blazing red hair surrounding her face like a firestorm. Her eyes are the prettiest blue somewhat similar to an ocean. She proceeds to her antique Armoire in the corner of her bedroom where her clothes are hanging. She retrieves a beautiful spring-like dress. She dresses for the day and proceeds to the bathroom to brush her red hair, and teeth before journeying downstairs to eat breakfast. Charlotte has been living with grandma since she was six months old. The smell is filling her room with the pancakes that she loves is waiting for her on the kitchen table. Charlotte most definitely loves her grandma’s homemade pancakes which only her grandma has the recipe. Charlotte’s grandma means the world to her, and she has no one else to call family. Both she and her grandma live in a small town in an average charming house, which has beautiful roses growing in the front flowerbed. Charlotte’s bedroom positioned on the second floor of the house overlooking the bed of roses, and the aroma always fills her room with the most fantastic smells. Charlotte continues to eat her breakfast before leaving for the first day of school. She carries her empty plate to the sink and turns around bending down kissing her grandma on the cheek saying I love you. Irene replies I love you too my dear precious, beautiful grandchild. Charlotte exits the kitchen, out of the back door, begins walking to school, and immediately stops. She commences shaking her head back, and forth, and becomes extremely dizzy. Charlotte is worried, and to some extent, something is happening to her, but she didn’t know what it was. She has a horrible headache, which lasts the entire day at school, but somehow manages to control it with the help of her BFF Angelina Loren and begin her journey home. Charlotte approaches the screen door crying looking at her grandma. Irene sees, and hears Charlotte crying, and runs to open the screen door for her. Charlotte begins explaining to her grandma about her terrible headache lasting the entire day. Irene turns around, goes upstairs into the bathroom, and retrieves a bottle of aspirin. She comes back down the stairs and sees that Charlotte is resting on the couch in the living room. Irene looks at Charlotte asking, please raise up, and take the two aspirins resting in the palm of my hand? Charlotte answers all right grandma, and then ask is there anything wrong with me? Irene gazes into Charlotte’s beautiful blue eyes saying you’re just fine I promise. Irene tells her you to go upstairs and get some much-needed rest. She replies yes grandma. She slumps over holding her head and moving ever so slow climbing the stairs leading into her bedroom. When dinnertime approaches, Irene enters Charlotte’s bedroom and notices that she’s still sleeping. She instantly sees that Charlotte has a peaceful, and calming look on her face, so she decides to allow her to sleep as long as she wants. Irene exits Charlotte’s bedroom and travels back downstairs to the kitchen. She decides to keep a warm plate of food for Charlotte in the oven just in case she chose to wake up. However, she never did. The evening passes incredibly fast, and the next morning approaches Tuesday, August 2, 2011. Charlotte wakes up and sits on the edge of her bed for a few minutes to ensure that her headache is gone which left her extremely exhausted. She resumes her daily schedule brushing her hair, and teeth, and then dressing for the day. Charlotte slowly moves down the stairs holding the rail for reinsurance in case the headache returns. She walks into the kitchen and informs her grandma my headache is finally gone. Irene politely says excellent because it’s nothing more than a headache. Charlotte says I sure hope so because I don’t ever want to experience another one of those damn things again. She realizes then that she said an inappropriate word to her grandma. Charlotte says, grandma, I’m sorry I didn’t mean, to say such an ugly word. Irene replies it’s okay sweetie, and we all say things at times when we’re not feeling our best. Charlotte finishes her breakfast, and once again, heads for the back door looking forward to meeting her friends at school. Charlotte is so happy, and content is knowing that she’s now 17 years old, and in one more year she’ll be 18. As Charlotte steps, out of the back door to begin her stroll to school, Irene says you have a lovely day dear. She says Charlotte your birthday surprise will be waiting for you when you return home. Charlotte replies all right grandma with a smile on her face. Irene has promised her a new car as long as she stayed focused on her grades at school, and she did. Charlotte is so excited and could hardly wait until school dismisses for the day, and travel back home to where her surprise is supposedly sitting. She kept her promise to her grandma and became a straight (A), student. Charlotte is an incredibly intelligent student. However, she accelerated in science, and biology. Charlotte ends up being more advanced than the other classmates are, and her teachers are still very much impressed with her. They each still remember the past school years, and how incredibly smart she is, and each of them discover that it’s extremely hard for them to educate her anymore even after the second day of school. They didn’t understand why she didn’t elect to graduate the previous school year when she was in the tenth grade. They assumed that Charlotte wasn’t informed about graduating early so they all kept it to themselves. The second day at school a handful of her teachers approaches her about attending college. Charlotte says I can’t attend college, and leave my grandma Irene all alone. They explain to Charlotte that you’ll eventually need to separate yourself from your grandma, and journey out into the world, and, find success, and happiness. They look at her saying we possibly can’t educate you any further because of your intelligence. She says I understand. There were times the teachers over the past few years felt that they were the pupils, and became more, and more fascinated with every word Charlotte would communicate to them. Charlotte is very popular, but finds it difficult to socialize with a separate group of classmates who consistently criticize others they don’t give a rat’s ass about. She wasn’t raised to be cruel to anything or anyone. She has goodness within her, and wholesomeness in her heart. She, however, doesn’t find it difficult to say no to the cruel classmates requiring only her help. Charlotte knew all of them assumed they were better than everyone else. Charlotte is confident they’re only friendly to her at times because they know she’s intelligent, and could if she wanted to help them with their homework assignments or to supply them with answers to pass a test. However, she’s always available to help the outcast classmates who actually need assistance, and didn’t concern herself with the evil ones. With all of her knowledge collecting over the years Charlotte eventually becomes a tutor. To some degree, Charlotte does, however, feels a tab bit remorseful for the snobs, but deep down within her she realizes that they made the decision to hurt anyone who gets in their way, and it bothers Charlotte because she does care. After school, Charlotte begins her journey towards home. She’s so excited, and can not wait to see the birthday surprise, and what it looks like. Charlotte picks up her tempo moving rapidly toward home. She’s a little exhausted, but finally arrives back home, and suddenly pauses. She could barely grasp what she’s viewing in the driveway. Irene is standing on the front porch watching the expression on Charlotte’s face upon arrival. Her eyes are popping out of her head. She begins jumping around with joy observing her brand new Red Camaro, and then tells her grandma, I love it. Irene says, Charlotte, you deserve the car because you’re a precious gift from God above, and didn’t once disappoint me in any way. Charlotte walks around her car looking at the interior, and notices that it’s fully loaded with all of the up to date technology, and it’s also a convertible. Irene had a special customized license plate made which says "BELIEVE." Charlotte runs over to Irene jumping up, and down grabbing, and hugging her. Irene tells her you’re squeezing me too tight dear. Charlotte replies I’m beyond doubt sorry grandma. She expresses to her grandma that I’m so happy because I have you in my life, and I’m very thankful. Charlotte asks grandma what does the license plate signify? She answers you must always believe in God for he’ll help guide you each, and everyday, and answer you in your time of need. Irene hands the keys to her telling Charlotte, please be careful, and most of all are very cautious of those around you. Charlotte opens the door to her new car, and adjusts the seat, and mirrors customized for her use only. She starts the car, and begins to accelerate just to hear the sound of the engine, and the customized pipes. Charlotte opens up a music CD, which is one of her favorites, and inserts it into the music compartment. She looks up at her grandma smiling, and waving her hands saying I’ll not belong. She tells her grandma I understand that you’re terrified of the dark for both of us. Charlotte slowly backs out of the driveway heading toward town listening to her music, and showing off her new car. She approaches a stoplight, and looks around noticing four classmates standing by the local Café, who are not part of the so-called elite group. She pulls over to the side asking them would you all like to take a ride in my new car? They all look at her, and each other asking Charlotte are you sure you want to be seen with us? Charlotte answers yes I desire more than ever people observing all of you riding around with me. The four classmates look at each other saying why not it’s a gorgeous looking car. They all say to some degree, they wish their parents could afford a car for them. She can see the look of unhappiness on their faces. They are standing back staring at Charlotte in shock just being in her presence because of who she is. Charlotte asks well do you want to or not? They all answer yes, we absolutely would love to. Natalie Blanchard decides to introduce everyone to Charlotte. She says this is Casey-Landry, Mike Prudhomme, and Peyton Savoy. Charlotte looks at each of them saying I know all of your names. She tells them you all should be proud of your titles, and your all charming classmates to be around from what I’ve been observing. Charlotte expresses to them, this girl, referring to herself really didn’t care to join the group of snobs who cautiously plans their reign of terror upon innocent students. She then tells them by separating myself from those idiots I’ll eventually become a topic of gossip, and cruelty myself, but I don’t care. Charlotte is sure everyone has to answer for every transgression they have committed in their life. Charlotte, and her new friends drive around for about an hour laughing, and feeling overjoyed. She asks them would all of you like to ride with me to, and from school everyday? They look at each other, and then says we would really like to. Charlotte drives around for a few more hours, and drops them off at the Café saying remember I’ll pick all of you up around 7:45 AM tomorrow morning Wednesday, August 3, 2011. Charlotte waves bye, and drives off. On her way home, she lays back in her seat allowing the warm breeze to flow throughout her hair. Charlotte begins singing along with the music playing. She feels like she’s in heaven, and floating around on the clouds. Charlotte arrives back home, and sees that her grandma is sitting on the front porch swing smiling. She asks Charlotte how your trip was? She answers super fantastic. Charlotte begins explaining I’ve met four new friends at the local Café. She informs her grandma that I’ve invited them to ride to, and from school with me everyday. Irene stands up, and hugs her saying you’re such a caring person regardless of what people might say about you. They both hand-in-hand walk into the house, and settle in for the evening. Charlotte is so excited about the next day that she can not sleep. Wednesday morning arrives August 3, 2011, and Charlotte begins dressing for school. She knew that she has to rush just a little bit to pick up her friends, and arrive at school on time. She runs downstairs fully dresses grabbing a few pieces of toast, and then kisses her grandma saying goodbye. Charlotte looks at her while exiting the door saying don’t worry grandma because I can take care of myself. Irene looks at her laughing then saying I know you can. Irene says Charlotte always remember you have Babineaux blood coursing through your veins, and don’t ever forget it. Irene then tells Charlotte that it’s a mighty name, and within the name emanates powerful things, and when the time comes, and I know it will you, and you alone will have everything possibly dreamed of. She tells Charlotte it will be mind-boggling for some stretch of time, but hopefully, the goodness you possess will help you find your way in the end. Irene turns away, and thinks to herself saying od, please assist the innocent people in discovering a way to escape the unbelievable evil which will eventually come to be. She lowers her head saying I know for sure after I pass away that our quiet little town will have to relive the nightmares that I was forced to lock away almost 18 years ago. This is my curse, and I pray to God every night that my dear Charlotte will never discover the truth about our family. I just hope more than ever before I die that she’ll find someone who loves her passionately, and encourages her to depart from this horrible place before she discovers the inheritance, and the many family secrets, and then it will be too late.

    Chapter 2

    The School.

Wednesday, August 3, 2011, Charlotte leaps into her new car and drives to the Café to pick up her friends. She approaches the Café noticing that they’re greeting her with a smile. Charlotte immediately smiles back. They are all laughing and feeling so good because someone so special like Charlotte accepts them for who they are. They jump into Charlotte’s car and proceed toward school. Charlotte and her friends climb out of her car, and head in the direction of the double doors leading into the school. Charlotte knew of several classmates who enjoy badgering and tormenting them. She’s not going to tolerate it any longer. Charlotte moves toward Nick, and his friends that day at school saying look, these are human beings and have emotions so, please quit your fear-provoking conduct toward them. They have never taken any action toward you or your stupid ass friends so for the love of God; please leave them alone. Charlotte asks why you and your friends feel it’s essential to continue to hurt my friends in countless ways. Charlotte also asks Nick along with his friends do all of you find it amusing or even arousing? There’s no answer. However, Nick says to Charlotte you arouse me, and I plan to pop your cherry myself. She squints her eyes looking directly at him with her piercing blue eyes saying, try it, son of a bitch. Nick Savage Captain of the football team, says Charlotte your becoming such a nasty ass slut even though you’re still a virgin. He tells her to go ahead, and gather up those no good little shits, and be a part of their small group. Nick also says what I mean by that statement being small is about the size of my pinky finger. He says, Charlotte, you’ll begin to experience the cruelty that we inflict on your friends, and then you’ll see, and feel what would become unimaginable. Charlotte looks at Nick saying do you think I’m scared of you. She says I could give a rat’s ass what you think of my friends or me. Furthermore, you can kiss my motherfucking ass because to me, all of you are nothing, but a group of flies hovering over a massive pile of dog shit. Charlotte is going to make that abusive group of shits pay for all the humiliation that her friends have endured. Nicks friends bizarrely stare at her saying one day you’ll come around and implore us to become a part of our group again. She says I was never part of your stupid ass clique. Charlotte then shakes her head back, and forth saying never, never, and I can assure you of that. They laugh at her repeatedly as they continue to their classes, and, giving her, and her friends the middle finger screaming your all penis-sucking losers. Nick shouts out that Charlotte is a virgin, and then says she’ll never know what it will feel like to be fucked by a real man for the first time. He says it loud enough to where everyone in the school hallway can hear. Charlotte stands still smiling with her piercing blue eyes. She thinks to herself I’m so glad that my grandma taught me the ways of a man’s world, and what they want from a woman. Charlotte turns around and smiles at her friends saying come on let’s get to class. She says let’s meet at, the double doors after school, and I’ll give you a ride home. Casey says great sounds, and enjoyable to me. They travel to their classrooms until school dismisses for the day. Peyton approaches Charlotte saying; you can just drop us off at the Café because we only live, maybe a block or two away. They climb into Charlotte’s car, and head in the direction of their homes. Charlotte says I’ll see you tomorrow Thursday, August 4, Wednesday evening; she receives a phone call from her best friend, Angelina Loren. She tells Charlotte, you don’t need to worry about those creepy friends of Nick. Charlotte says all of them have chosen to follow Nick’s dirty ass since he’s the Captain of the football team, which in my belief is dim-witted on their part. Angelina makes it known to Charlotte that Nick will eventually apologize for what he verbalized about you. Charlotte replies saying I don’t care if he does or doesn’t because he and his friends are, still pricks, and assholes. Charlotte didn’t like using dirty language, but there have been times that she felt compelled to use them. They talk a little while longer, and Angelina asks Charlotte are you planning on going to the lake Saturday, August 6, 2011, and spend time with friends, and just have an enjoyable day? Charlotte answers yes, I’ll be traveling to the lake, and I’m going to call a few friends and ask if they would like to join us. Angelina says Charlotte; I think that’s just exactly what a Doctor would order. She then states it’s about time our friends enjoy life a little bit without them self-ridiculed. Charlotte asks would you call a few of your friends at school asking them if they want to join in for some fun at the lake. Angelina replies sure. She says, I already have several phone numbers of friends I can call, but then says, Charlotte, please, whatever you do, don’t trust Nick. They both hang up their cell phones and begin calling various friends to see if they desire to accompany them to the lake on Saturday, August 6, 2011. Charlotte says to each of them that you’ll all have fun, and don’t worry about anything, especially if Nick, and his friends are there. About an hour later Angelina calls saying, I’ll be bringing four friends. Charlotte says I called Casey-Landry, Peyton Savoy, Natalie Blanchard, and Mike Prudhomme, and they all agreed to accompany us to the lake. Angelina says that’s fantastic news. She says I’ll be bringing Jessica Guidry, Dylan Pellerin, Samuel Pierre, and Gracie Deveau with me. Charlotte says Angelina, let’s meet up at 9:00 AM at the Café, and wait for our friends, and we’ll both drive together, and journey toward the lake? Angelina answers sure. They, at last, end their conversation, and Charlotte is starting to feel much better about what she has accomplished. Irene sees, her asking you, all right? Charlotte answers yes, but I just don’t understand why there are groups of people that can be so evil toward other people especially the innocent ones. She tells her grandma the four friends that I met at the local Café Tuesday evening August 2, 2011, are going to accompany Angelina, and me to the lake on Saturday. Irene says I’m so proud of you because you’re a caring, and forgiving person, and a gift from God above. Charlotte proceeds upstairs toward her bedroom and starts packing a few items to take to the lake because she didn’t want to forget them. About an hour later Nick calls Charlotte, and she asks what the fuck do you want asshole, and Nick answers I’m calling to apologize for my behavior, and the behavior of my friends Morgan, Jacob, Lydia, Peter, and Trey. She asks Nick how I’m supposed to know if you’re sincere, along with your buddies. Nick whispers into the phone to Charlotte with a soft-spoken voice saying I have a splendid idea. Charlotte asks what kind of idea could you possibly come up with that wouldn’t hurt my friends? He answers you probably already know by now my friends, and I are meeting Saturday, August 6, 2011, at the lake, hang out, and swim. Nick asks Charlotte to invite your friends to join us. Charlotte answers this doesn’t sound like you at all. Charlotte says you, and your friends can’t stomach my friends, and all of your friends relentlessly make fun of them. I know Nick says, and I realize my friends, and me have treated your friends poorly. She states it was wrong that we criticized, and terrorized your friends. He expresses to Charlotte I apologize for all of us sincerely, and I hope that you can find it in your own heart to forgive us says, Nick. There’s a minute of silence on the phone, and Charlotte replies all right, but if you or your friends pull any shit, you’ll all be so fucking sorry. Nick says it’s all good, and we’re all going to have one hell of time. After she, and Nick finish their phone conversation, Charlotte then calls her friend Angelina telling her about the phone discussion with Nick, and Angelina asks Charlotte are you really going to fall for Nick’s shit? Charlotte answers Angelina, I’m going to give him, and his friends this one opportunity to make things right. She says I sure hope you know exactly what you’re getting all of us into says, Angelina. Charlotte says, it’s going to be okay. Charlotte knew deep down that her friends are frightened of Nick, but she vows to herself that she’ll protect them, regardless. Charlotte begins thinking about her friend’s situation, and then understands that she never had to walk a day in their shoes, but she somehow knew exactly how they feel, and it matters to her most of all. Charlotte never had to face any cruelty or subjected to gossip in the past because of her appearance, and most of all being outgoing, and smart. Charlotte hasn’t once acknowledged to her friends that she’s better than everyone else is. This is one of the many wholesome things that make her extremely exceptional. She’s talented, and tries very hard to avoid conversations with Nick, and his friends. Nicks friends all believe Charlotte is more pleasant to be around than those stupid little shits that she calls friends. Charlotte considers everything, and her conclusions is that Nick, and his friends need psychosomatic help. She will also uncover they all need more than just stupidity, and cruelty to survive. Thursday morning August 4, 2011, approaches, and Charlotte dresses, and heads to the local Café to pick up her friends. She sees them from a distance laughing, and smiling, and that made her feel good. She pulls up, they jump into her car saying good morning Charlotte, and she says good morning friends. Charlotte pulls into the parking lot at school noticing that Angelina, and their other friends are waiting. They all enter school waiting to see how Nick, and his friends will act toward them. Nick sees them in the hallway, and approaches them saying you people ready for a fun day at the lake Saturday? There’s no immediate answer probably because they’re used to him, and his friends terrorizing them. Charlotte breaks the silence and says good morning. Nick, and his friends are all smiling which Angelina thought to be out of the ordinary. Nick says all of you have a splendid day, and we will talk to you later. Charlotte looks at everyone saying it’s going to be just fine. Nick turns away walking with his friends and snickering the entire time. Thursday, and Friday were truly perfect days for everyone because Nick, and his friends were incredibly kind to them. After school Thursday, and Friday Charlottes, and Angelina’s, friends met up at their cars watching Nick, and his friends smiling, and waving at them, and are utterly in shock because they weren’t tortured for two days, and only hope that it will stay that way, but it doesn’t.

    Chapter 3

    The Lake.

Saturday morning, August 6, 2011, Charlotte wakes up and finishes gathering up the few remaining items to take with her for a fun day at the lake. She starts downstairs and sees that her grandma is sitting in her favorite Rocking Chair staring out the window. Charlotte ask, are you all right because it appears to me you don’t seem well? She answers I’m okay. She tells Charlotte I’m just having one of those days, but eventually, I’ll be putting everything back together. Irene says now you go onward, pick up your friends, and have a pleasant day at the lake. Charlotte leans down, looks at her grandma, and informs her I’ll call you later in the day to see how your feeling. Charlotte kisses her on the cheek, and then hesitates for a minute steadily gazing into her grandma’s eyes telling her, please don’t ever leave me, all alone. Irene says I’m not going anywhere, and I’ll be here when you arrive home this evening. Charlotte turns around like grease lightning heading in the direction of the door and looks over her left shoulder saying, grandma, I love you so much. Irene says I love you too my dear and have a marvelous time at the lake with your friends, and please don’t worry yourself one little bit about me. Charlotte departs from the house, and skyrockets into her car, and proceeds to the Café to meet up with Angelina, and she waits for their friends. All of their friends show up together saying let’s have some fun as they jump into Charlotte’s car and Angelina’s Suburban. They drive together side-by-side practically the entire time because there isn’t any traffic. Charlotte tells her friends riding in her car I had talked to Nick Wednesday night August 3, 2011, and he apologized for all the wicked things that he participated in along with his buddies. Casey looks at Charlotte asking are you serious? He then tells Charlotte that you expect us to enjoy being around Nick, and his no-good fucking friends knowing exactly how they have acted toward us. Charlotte reassures them that everything is going to be terrific. They all have faith in Charlotte because she has always been truthful, and kind to them. Charlotte is driving her car, and Peyton ask do you remember what Nick and his friends said about me? Charlotte answers yes. I remember they all blabbed to everyone at school that you’re a hooker, and they stated that no one in school desires to touch such an ugly ass person. Peyton says that’s correct Charlotte, and you know that everyone in this car remembers, and it upset me, and it’s hard for me to be around such malicious people. Charlotte says come on, Peyton, let’s just see how the day goes, and she tells Charlotte I’ll try to be cordial to them, and so will the rest of us. Charlotte expresses to her four friends that there’s nothing wrong excepting an invitation to have some fun that you all desperately need. Charlotte continues driving down the street heading towards the lake, and Casey ask would you please stop at the convenient local store so I can pick up a few snacks for the day? While he’s in the towns grab, and go establishment, Charlotte, Peyton, Natalie, and Mike decides they also need to buy a few items for themselves. Angelina looks at Dylan, Jessica, Samuel, and Gracie asking you people need anything? Jessica answers I can always use a few extra sodas, and snacks. All of them decide to join Charlotte, and their other friends in the convenience store to pick up additional supplies for the day. They are all having so much fun in store. Charlotte stands back folding her arms, and begins looking at each of their faces, and finally senses, and understands the heartaches that they have been going through for a long time. She refuses to allow any of Nick’s friends to destroy their day. Charlotte remembers Nick giving his word everything is going to be wonderful. They line up to check out their items, and begin laughing, and telling jokes, and feeling happy because they’re at last part of something, which matters to them. They are so excited and start running to Charlotte’s car, and Angelina’s Suburban climbing in saying move on out Captains. Charlotte’s friend Mike says I can’t wait to get to the lake because it’s so damn hot. He tells them I’m starting to smell the odor of the sweat running down my, butt crack, and the others in Charlotte’s car begins to laugh expressing all of us thought it was something dead. Mike says you guys, and girls don’t smell like a bed of roses yourself. They begin laughing at him while journeying toward the lake. Charlotte and Angelina pull into the parking lot located near the lake and park their vehicles. Everyone jumps out, and stands in front of Charlotte’s Red Camaro, waiting, and watching Nick, and his friends in the distance. They are scared at first, and then Charlotte says come on, you all made the trip this far so you can make it the rest of the way. The ten of them move toward Nick, and his friends are nestling around him. Charlotte leads the way and introduces each of her friends along with Angelina’s to Nick, and his crazy ass friends. They are hesitant, and a little skeptical because they’re permitted to be in his presence. Nick leans over whispering in Charlotte’s ear saying now it’s time to have some real fun. Charlotte didn’t fully comprehend the statement at first whether it’s wholehearted or malicious. However, she still takes into consideration that Nick is trying to be a thoughtful person. Nick looks at Charlotte’s, and Angelina’s friends saying come on folks let’s head to the cliff and jump into the incredible coolness of the water. Angelina looks at Charlotte asking do you suppose he’s up to something? Charlotte answers I honestly suspect that he’s putting forth the effort to be friendly to everyone who has accompanied us to the lake. Angelina says I sure hope your right about this because there would be numerous heartaches later. Angelina says Charlotte, you don’t imagine this is a game, and he’s pretending to be friendly to our friends. Charlotte looks at Angelina saying relax, girl it will be enjoyable. Charlotte explains to Angelina that I don’t judge a person by what they have accomplished in the past, and yes, sometimes it’s hard to forget, but I still acknowledge there’s goodness in everyone, even Nick. Charlotte says Angelina let’s walk up to the cliff and jump into the water because it will most unquestionably make you feel much better and could possibly calm your nerves. Angelina still has a look of self-doubt upon her face. There have been so many vicious rumors circulating at school about their friends that Angelina just couldn’t overlook or forget. Charlotte snatches Angelina by the hand saying you’re going to the cliff with me if I have to drag you the entire way. Angelina says, Charlotte, I’m so very fortunate to have a friend like you in my own life. Charlotte replies, Angelina, the kind-heartedness, is mutual. Charlotte, and Angelina reach the top of the cliff, and sees that everyone is laughing, and, believe it or not, having an enjoyable time. Angelina says I never imagined that it could be like this. She expresses to her that Nick’s friends appear to remain relaxed with Charlotte, and Angelina’s friends. Angelina says I sure hope it stays this way, and Charlotte replies, I sure hope so too because I’ll never forgive myself if anything happens to any of them because it will then be my fault for trusting Nick. A few hours pass, and Angelina just happens to glance over at Jacob Lafleur laughing hysterically at Natalie. She thought that she overheard him asking Natalie; why in the hell would you wear a bathing suit that doesn’t fit your ugly fat ass? Natalie begins to weep. Jacob keeps laughing at her and informs her you have cottage cheese marks on your legs, and you look just like a hippopotamus in your obnoxious ass bathing suit. Jacob sprints over to Lydia, and Trey saying come on you’ve got see this. Jacob says to them that we have a pathetic looking hippopotamus among us. They follow Jacob to where Natalie is sitting, and observes her crying. They all look at her saying we honestly feel that you sink when you try to swim or do you even know how to ask Jacob? I can’t believe that you fucking people actually thought we were going to invite you all to join our group. You, and your friends have the audacity to present yourselves considering that we were going to tolerate you says Trey. Lydia looks at Natalie, saying keep bawling hippo it’s not going to help you at all. I know your fat, and ugly, but we all thought you were smart enough to figure out all of this is a prank. Natalie snatches her towel, and bag up from the ground, and heads in the direction of Charlotte’s car, and then proceeds to lay down in the back seat crying uncontrollably. Angelina approaches the car where Natalie is hiding saying me, and Charlotte will take care of this. Angelina tells Charlotte what happened to Natalie, and Charlotte replies I just don’t understand and why Nick would destroy his promise. Angelina replies, Charlotte, I warned you not to trust him. Charlotte proceeds to her car discovering that Natalie is crying hysterically. She asks Charlotte what’s the matter with you, and why would you allow this horrible occurrence to happen to me? Charlotte answers, I’m so sorry, and thought, and then Natalie says, Charlotte, you thought wrong. Charlotte walks back to the cliff and confronts Nick. She proceeds to explain to him exactly what Jacob, Lydia, and Trey have achieved with Natalie. Nick tells Charlotte I wasn’t present, and I’m not going to be responsible for something that I didn’t know about. Nick says I’ll talk to each of them. Nick secretly has a crush on Charlotte, but no one knew it at the time. Nick walks over to Jacob, Lydia, and Trey quietly murmuring into their faces, saying what a good job, and then says one down seven to go. Charlotte positions herself in the distance, watching Nick talking to his friends, but she couldn’t hear what he’s saying. Her piercing blue eyes are glancing at their faces laughing, but that’s all part of Nicks plan. He says listen to me people, Charlotte is watching so leave her with the appearance that your mortified for what you’ve accomplished. Nick walks over to Charlotte saying my friends feel remorseful for what they said to Natalie. Charlotte looks at Nick throwing her hands up in the air, saying I don’t know what to do now so I guess we will go ahead, and leave. Nick says no, please don’t leave, stay, and visit, and let’s have some fun. Charlotte tells him you honestly think this to be fun. Nick places his hands on Charlotte’s shoulders, which she didn’t like saying it won’t happen again. The rest of her friends, and Angelina’s start jumping off the cliff into the soothing water. They are paddling around on their backs, staring at the blue sky, and declaring that it just doesn’t get any better than this. All of a sudden, one of Nick’s friend Morgan decides to pull off Casey’s swimming trunks and tosses them into the woods. Casey runs out of the water grabbing his towel to cover up his naked body. Morgan says, you certainly do need to cover your dinky shit up saying I’ve seen a bigger dick in a pickle jar. She continues saying, repeatedly Casey has a little dick. He vanishes into the woods, remains there for about an hour, and then proceeds to hide behind Charlotte’s car because he felt secure. Charlotte has no indication of what had taken place regarding Casey because she’s lying on her back enjoying the sun. In the meantime, Lydia, and Peter are laughing their asses off at the jokes that they’re telling to each other. Nick says Morgan excellent job, girl. He then says I didn’t know that you had it in you, and she replies oh yeah, I’ve had it inserted before, and it felt extremely enjoyable. Nick looks at her saying show me, girl, what your verbalizing. She answers sure, let’s take a little walk in the woods where we can have some privacy. Nick, and Morgan head for the forest grabbing each other’s ass along the way until they disappear. Meanwhile, Charlotte, and Angelina are soaking up the sun. Jessica, and Peyton are floating on their backs, and they’re not aware that they have drifted a little further than expected. Two of Nick’s friends Lydia, and Jacob are waiting for them behind a gigantic rock. Once Jessica, and Peyton are in their view, they immediately jump into the water, and then begin forcing them under the water. Jessica, and Peyton are thrusting hard to break free before they’re again submerged. This unspeakable torment continues for about 30 minutes, and then Lydia, and Jacob express to Jessica, and Peyton that you had better not inform Charlotte or Angelina, or we will do something far more dreadful to you. Jessica, and Peyton stand trembling, and crying wishing they never had accompanied Charlotte, and Angelina to the lake. Charlotte, and Angelina wake up from their brief nap that they have taken while lying in the sun. Charlotte looks around and realizes that some of their friends are not visible. She, and Angelina started walking around, looking for their buddies, and notices that Nick is absent from his. They both walk to the top of the cliff and see a few of their friends jumping in the water, and having fun, or so they thought. Charlotte, and Angelina both jump into the water at the same time, and starts swimming, and kicking their feet around splashing water in each other’s face. They are in the water for about an hour or more just having fun. Nick, and Morgan arrive back at the cliff barely dressed, and view Jessica, and Peyton sitting together with a look of terror on their faces. Nick looks over at his friend Jacob asking what happened here with a smile on his face. Jacob answers you wouldn’t believe it. He tells Nick that these two nasty ass perverts thought for a brief moment they were underwater scuba divers but forgot to bring their scuba diving gear. Nick smiles saying, well, four down, and four to go. It became apparent that Natalie, Casey, Jessica, and Peyton felt the wrath of Nick, and his friends. Nick has everything organized, and in the meantime, Angelina travels over to Charlotte’s car asking Natalie are you going to be all right? She answers yes, but I’m going to call my mother, and ask her if she’ll pick me up. Angelina replies; please don’t because you can hang out with Charlotte, and me, and if I know Charlotte she’ll make sure nothing else happens to you. Natalie answers okay. Natalie says to Angelina that I’m going to stay real close to you, and Charlotte. Angelina says excellent. Angelina, and Natalie both head back to the lake unaware that Casey is behind the car lying on the ground. They sit down on the sandy landing squishing their toes in the sand. Natalie tells Angelina I feel somewhat better. Natalie says thanks, so much for your help. Charlotte is in the water swimming around, and looking at the beautiful blue sky, and realizes nothing couldn’t be better or so she thought. Charlotte swims over to where Natalie, and Angelina are sitting. She walks out of the water, and sits down beside Natalie, and Angelina asking both of them if everything is okay? They both answer yes. Natalie says Charlotte; can I ask you a question? Charlotte answers, you can ask me anything. She asks how do you keep your body in fantastic shape, and she answers I do have to watch what I eat, and on occasion, I exercise? Natalie says I really wish that I could look like you, and then no one would criticize me because I’m overweight. Charlotte states to Natalie that beauty is in the eyes of the beholder, and I accept as true that it’s what a person possesses on the inside, which matters. All of a sudden, they hear a shout from the top of the cliff and see five of Nick’s friends jumping from the edge of the cliff completely naked. Charlotte says oh my God, what in the hell are they doing? She then says that’s so sickening, and disgusting, and Angelina, and Natalie says I agree. Charlotte is looking around noticing that Mike, Samuel, Dylan, and Gracie are nowhere in sight. She thinks to herself immediately something is wrong. I wonder where they are looking at Angelina, and Natalie with a concerned look on her face. Angelina says Charlotte I’ve not seen them in the area for quite some time, and maybe we should start searching for them. Charlotte agrees to Angelina’s request to try to locate them. Angelina tells Charlotte you look on one side of the lake, and I’ll look for them on the other end of the lake. They both tell Natalie to stay positioned, and not to go anywhere, a she didn’t. She went to Charlotte’s car where she found Casey silent as a mouse. Charlotte travels to the edge of the woods, and yells out Mike, Samuel, Dylan, Gracie, where are you, and there, is only silence. the other side of the lake, Angelina screams Mike, Samuel, Dylan, Gracie where are you, and let me know if your all right because we’re worried about you, and Angelina kept yelling out their names. About an hour passes, Charlotte, and Angelina meet by their cars completely puzzled. Charlotte says, Angelina, I don’t understand what’s going on. Angelina then looks at Charlotte saying maybe you should ask Nick. Charlotte replies yes, I am definitely going to talk to him. Charlotte approaches Nick saying look we can’t find Mike, Jessica, Samuel, and Gracie. Nick says I’m not their babysitter, and I don’t know where they are. She looks at him saying with a threatening tone if anything has happened to them you, and your friends will be very sorry. Nick just laughs saying maybe just maybe the four of them are horsing around in the woods and being screwed at this very minute. Charlotte tells him your so repulsive, and my friends are not like your fucking stupid friends, and they happen to be very uplifting to be around, and Nick looks at her saying your joking right. Charlotte states that you promised me everything is going to be spectacular. Nick slowly approaches her, and whispers bitch in her ear, and then tells her I didn’t promise you anything. He says you made that assumption on your own, and furthermore my best guess would be to look a lot harder and hopefully, you’ll find the stupid ass little shits you call friends. Charlotte looks at Nick saying remember that I informed you, and your friends that you’ll be sorry if anything has happened to them. Charlotte is never friendless, and certainly not frightened because she feels like someone or something is safeguarding her at all times. Charlotte knows for sure that it’s not her grandma, but however, it’s something or someone, and at times, it disturbs her, but just a little bit, and then realizes deep within her heart that she has nothing to fear. Charlotte approaches Angelina telling her about the conversation that she had with Nick. Angelina is looking at Charlotte placing both hands on her hips saying we desperately need to find them, even if it takes us all night. They split up, and begin searching the woods, moving deeper, and deeper into the darkness in the woods. Charlotte notices up ahead something tied to a tree, and barely moving. Charlotte approaches the tree with caution, and finds Mike, and Samuel naked, and tied to a big ass Oak Tree with gags in their mouths, and fresh bruises all over their bodies. She removes the restraints asking both of them who did this to you. They both answer it was Trey, and Lydia. Charlotte reaches down grabbing a rock, which has a sharp edge on it, and she begins cutting the ropes, and crying at the same time. Charlotte frees Mike, and Samuel, and retrieves their clothes thrown into the bushes saying both of you get dressed, and please head directly to my car, and hide behind it. Charlotte tells Mike, and Samuel that Angelina, and I are still looking for Dylan, and Gracie, and ensures them they’ll be found. Charlotte hears a scream from Angelina yelling out get over here I found them. Charlotte begins running in the direction where the cry could be heard by anyone. She slowly approaches, and couldn’t accept as true what she’s viewing. Dylan, and Gracie are hanging upside down from a tree branch and gagged. Charlotte notices that Gracie’s shirt is torn in several places, and extremely dirty, and bloody, and tucked inside her underwear. Charlotte then saw how bloody her underwear is. Both Charlotte, and Angelina cut them down, and Charlotte starts shaking her head saying no, no, no, this can’t be happening. Charlotte asks Gracie, who did this horrible thing to you? Gracie answers it was Peter, and Jacob, and they both forced Dylan to watch. Gracie was a virgin at the time, and no one could possibly conceive the pain that she had to endure. She says to Charlotte, and Angelina crying hysterically that after Peter, and Jacob had finished raping me, they grabbed Dylan by the throat telling him to go ahead, and fuck my little pussy, and then they said hell who knows you just might obtain pleasure from it. They both told Dylan if he didn’t, they’ll beat the living shit out of him, and then cut his dick off for the insects to eat. Dylan looks at me saying I’m so sorry for what I’m about to do, and I hope you’ll forgive me. Peter, and Jacob stripped Dylan of his clothes, and threw him on top of me, and I looks away saying to Dylan go ahead, and get it over with. Charlotte couldn’t help but notice that the blood on Gracie’s shirt is spreading so she lifted up Gracie’s shirt, and begins yelling. Charlotte says Gracie your back looks like they whipped you with switches, and Gracie says yes, they did. Gracie starts feeling light heads because of the blood exiting her body. Charlotte, and Angelina gather up what’s left of their clothing, and help their friends dress. Angelina gently asks will you both be able to find your way back to our cars and remain there. Charlotte tells Angelina you need to accompany them and try to locate my first aid kit in my car, and clean Gracie up. She expresses to Angelina that I have some unfinished business with Nick. Angelina says, please be careful because your outnumbered, and they can do anything they want to you. She says I’ll be okay, and I’m not even a little bit scared of those pieces of shit. Charlotte tells her you go on now, and head back to the cars, and I’ll meet with you shortly. During, this time, Nick, and his friends are laughing hysterically jumping up, and down. Nick says to his friends the mission is accomplished, and they all went down so easily, and then Nick’s friend Peter ask what we are supposed to do about Charlotte, and Angelina. Nick answers not a motherfucking thing because they both know who is in charge at school. Charlotte sees all of them from a distance, and approaches them, saying I promise you, and I’ll say it again. I promise that each one of you will feel my wrath. She also says it may not materialize right now, but eventually, it’s going to happen, and then you all will be pleading for your life until you’re no longer breathing. Nick says, Charlotte, I just can’t comprehend why you choose to become so weepy for those weird shit-eating slugs. Charlotte stated that they’re not anything you just declared, and the only thing they’re guilty of is being kind hearted, and very generous with peace, and understanding coursing threw their veins. Nick, and his friends all start laughing at Charlotte, asking, what’s the matter are you tongue-tied? They continue laughing, snickering at her, and trying to cover their mouth while continuing to whisper in each other’s ears things about her. Nick tells Trey that I actually look forward to fucking her, and Charlotte here’s what he said. He looks at Charlotte asking you about to cry? She answers fuck no, repeatedly. Charlotte looks at Nick saying I’ve got one more thing to pronounce to each of your friends before I start walking back to my real friends. I’m absolutely sure that your all jealous assholes with a capital A. Charlotte glares at them, and then turns around focusing on the cars they all arrived in. Charlotte then proceeds to her car, and along the way she’s giving Nick, and his friends the middle finger. She then shouts out loud saying I can’t hardly wait to get a hold on each of you. Nick, and his friends continue to smile, and laugh while Charlotte, Angelina, and their friends disappear into the afternoon.

    Chapter 4

The Statements at the Police Station.

On the way home, everyone is so silent that you could hear a pin drop. Charlotte says to each, of her friends that I’m so sorry, and thought Nick and his friends were going to be kindhearted to all of us today, but now I’m admitting I was wrong. She looks at them saying I hope all of you’ll forgive me. Casey is completely still and looking intently at the sky. Charlotte asks Casey you all right, and then he begins telling everyone that Morgan Alexander pulled my swimming trunks off while I was in the water, and then she cast them into the woods. She then started laughing at me saying I have a little dick. Charlotte says that’s terrible, and immediately motions for Angelina to pull her Suburban over on the side of the road. They both skyrocket out of their vehicles. Charlotte explains to Angelina what happened to Casey, and she’s furious. She looks at her friends asking who else was a victim of Nick, and his friends. Jessica states that Peyton and I came close to being drowned, and we both thought that our lungs were about to explode. Charlotte begins walking around kicking the rocks on the ground and comprehended that everything needs reporting to the Police. She starts thinking to herself saying I’ll not allow my friends to become more of a target of gossip, and humiliation ever again. Charlotte and Angelina’s friends are standing by the cars watching Charlotte’s suffering display all over her face. They knew that she’s struggling with everything that happened during the day. She looks up at Gracie saying we need to go to the Police Department. Charlotte and Angelina speak to each of their friends asking will all of you consent to a Police Officer obtaining statements from each of you. She also states to them that all of you need to inform the Police Officers all of the specifics which happened to each of you at the lake. They are looking at Charlotte raising their eyebrows saying are you kidding Nick’s father is the Chief of Police, and you know that he won’t believe anything we say. Charlotte expresses to them
