    Where It All Began

Eons ago, the Empyrean Comet circled the galaxies with its bluish contrails, making every of its sighting an enchanting spectacle to watch. But, unknown to many, it contained unimaginable energies, bestowing powerful abilities upon six chosen ones, known as the Empyreans. They are destined to fulfil the Empyrean prophecy - to prevent a great evil from consuming the galaxy with darkness.

The tale of the Empyrean legend starts from the planet Felineatius, the planet of the Felinean people. Leo was a descendant of a long line of astronomers - the Stargazers. Before him, was his father, Magnus, a Felinean Leopard, a great astronomer of the Intergalactic Federation. He would gaze at the stars every fortnight and take down observations on their behaviour, their tangoes in the black veils of space.

When Leo was born, Magnus decided that he would be christened as Leo, after the constellation because his gleaming, azure-blue eyes resembled the stars of the constellations he observed. Being a Stargazer, it was a customary tradition to pass on the name and the practice of watching the clusters and constellation of the stars.

As a child, Leo was curious and frisky. He would fiddle with random objects to find out what they were meant to do. During the day, Leo would interact with many of his friends, playing tag and out-clambering every tree that they would attempt to climb. Being very agile and dynamic, he was well loved for his energy around his neighbourhood.

At night, on every occasion when Magnus peered through the telescope, Leo would be there to see the constellations with him.

Wow, this is amazing! He exclaimed after peeking through the lens of the telescope.

Leo, what you are currently looking at is called the Sagittarius constellation. You see, each dot up there is a star, and with each star, a solar system follows. At your age, you wouldn’t be able to comprehend how vast space is. As Felineans, we are insignificant to the expanse of the world up there.

And so, it became Leo’s habit to be an ‘assistant’ of Magnus.

One evening, while glancing through the telescope, Leo noticed a whitish-blue flash and an object streaking through the sky. Swinging the telescope to follow its course, he witnessed the object land into a river not too far away from his home.

Without any hesitation, he ran out of the house towards where he thought the fallen star had landed. As he meandered his way through the winding paths to where he thought it landed, the gravel crunched under his feet as each step made contact.

At the clearings where he had seen the object fall, there was a frothing river that cut in the middle. It was illuminated by the object and emanating light around an extensive area with a soft blue glow in the darkness. As he reached for the object, it whisked him into an unknown desolate landscape. He inspected the place around him, recognizing bits and remains of the buildings he used to know, but they were decrepit and abandoned. It was a forsaken landscape charred with ashes flying all around. He could tell he was still on Felineatius but at a different time. Instead of the murkiness of the night, it was bright with the sun hanging in the skies.

He navigated the ruins of the buildings towards where his home was and realized that it was destroyed along with the rest of the buildings. Leo sat onto what once was the foundation of his home, staring aimlessly at the debris which surrounded him. It was at that moment he realised that he had been transported somewhere into the future. Looking at the glowing rock he had in his hand, he knew it was no ordinary item he had in his possession.

While he sat and sulked, he could see two silhouettes walking around. Being cautious, he hid behind a wall and watched as they came closer and closer. When they stopped in their tracks, he could hear them talk and began eavesdropping on their conversation.

Everything is coming as planned, Lord Asmodia. One of the Empyreans here has been caught. Shall we proceed with the planet’s elimination?

Not just yet, she paused for a moment. I sense another one in my presence now…

Their conversation was cut off abruptly. This caused Leo to
