About this ebook
History Of Hidden Mysteries & Other Stories gives definitive expression to many of Faith's key themes: the sadness of untimely death; the hidden secretes of man's nature that destroyed families; the innocent loss of young lives and the joys of doing good. Her first collection of short stories charts unexplained incidents and draws inspirations from the authors vision on the hidden mysteries, activities, events and everyday happenings that are interrupting and changing people's lives. INTRODUCTION
In introducing these short stories, I can do no better than to quote ‘story telling is a great way to set the imagination free.’ The stories written in this book History Of Hidden Mysteries tries to capture the unexplained happenings that surrounded us, it is a combination of the characteristics of all the places, events and people and therefore belongs to the spirit of these stories.
In the preparation of the book, I had one principle aim. By writing about the History of Hidden Mysteries I wished to produce a collection of short stories for all ages, set in a time and place where story telling was used as entertainment, keeping myths and fables alive. I hoped to express the relationship between fact and fiction, tragedy and hope, religious belief and unexplained happenings. To give an example – The disappearance Of The Island Queen that still remains a mystery to all. A Sailor’s Tale reminds us about deeds of kindness.
In general, however, this is a fair representative of many short stories with a modern twist. All that needs to be said is that we should appreciate the mood and form in which the author wishes to convey in her stories. There are no rules, no boundaries. What do we gain from reading it? It’s pleasure and humour of everyday activities within the community, and part of our heritage and pastime.
