About this ebook
Teressa Pridemore
Hello, my name is Teressa Pridemore. Since I was in my teens, I have always wanted to write, but I didn’t know what about. I have three wonderful children. Widowed at forty-one, I raised them by myself and never remarried. As they were growing up, our house was the house for all the kids. It was the house. On the weekends, it was nothing to have ten extra kids at once. At nighttime, they would all want me to read them a story. Instead, I would make one up as I went along. I became ill once and had to have surgery, and my mother came to stay with me. She fell in love with my stories and said I needed to write them down. I did try, but to no avail. We talked, and she told me to write a book. That was all I needed. My brain worked overtime in the middle of the night. I didn't sleep well. Fairyland began. It has taken me a long time to get through obstacles that kept getting in the way, but here it is. Please enjoy and tell your friends. I want to leave my children more than just memories, I want to leave them a legacy. Yours truly, Teressa Pridemore

To my children, who believed I could do it, and to my mother (now deceased), who inspired it in the first place. This is something I have wanted to do since my teens. I thank the Lord for giving me the courage to keep it up and for sending me my publisher.
’Twas the turn of the century, and for Fairyland, there was excitement so great that no one can remember ever having experienced before. All of Fairyland was preparing for the Spring Ball, which was held every year in honor of all the young fairies coming out and beginning to look for love in hopes to marry. This year was a little different and was extra special because all five kingdoms were honoring the coming out of their princes and princesses. Royalty made this year different. Talent from all over Fairyland was contracted to be entertainment for all the festivities. The Inner City had entertainment all around the kingdom and inside the castle hallways. Along the walkways were trolls, fairies, and other magical creatures just waiting to entertain all the guests arriving daily from all the regions of Fairyland. Different groups provided different types of music for young and old. Young fairies were so excited about the ball, knowing that royalty were going to be there and hoping they might get the chance to meet them. Royalty were coming in hopes of meeting a mate, falling in love, and being in line for the throne of their region—a new life, a new government. Fairyland was looking forward to the young taking over for the old. There was a new outlook and excitement in Fairyland altogether.
Izzard was also excited. He had been planning and waiting for this for years. The Inner City had such control over all of Fairyland that Izzard was feared, and he had control over the kingdom that no one understood. He had control over the king and queen of the Inner City. No one realized just how strong his anticipation for this time was. He watched the festivities from his crystal wall, from which he could see all the goings-on in all the kingdom.
It seemed Izzard had always been there—no one in the history of Fairyland could remember when he wasn’t. The elders talked of him, had fear of him. No one trusted him. It was said he didn’t come alone. He once had a woman, a beautiful, dark fairy. Her eyes were said to be of sparkling emeralds that once you looked into, you were held in a stare. You would feel hypnotized. In that moment, she would search your soul to seize your fears, desires, and weaknesses. From that, she could use you, make you do as she desired, or turn you into whatever she desired.
When Izzard met Omea, he had been practicing to become a great wizard. His desire to become such had him dabbling in black magic and spells. Omea sensed this desire right away and saw a great need for his services and gave him his desire to be a powerful wizard. Omea had a plan. She had heard of Fairyland and wanted to have it for her own. They were instantly a couple. With him
