Rock ’N’ Rhymes

About this ebook
THIS is my first book, or attempt at a book. It comes from my love of writing and the use of words and the different forums they are used in... like the dialogue in a movie script and the impact it can have on the audience when the main character shares a secret that dramatically changes the direction of the movie...or your favorite song, where it feels like those lyrics were what you wanted to say, and the singer is singing to you. These are some of the ways words have spoken to me. I have a great appreciation for music and the history of the bands and artists that play it. I have also loved the little stories and nuggets that accompany the making of an album...or how a song was arrived at or what it was inspired by. So this book is a collection of short stories about bands and their songs, names of bands and other odds and ends that have popped into my head over the years. I hope you enjoy reading it as much as I enjoyed writing it --- and always remember to keep your eyes on the road and your hands upon the wheel.
Rich Rilleau
Rich Rilleau is a first time author. It is his love of music that convinced him to write this book. Rich began writing short stories for his family as a child. He is a fanatic sports fan who would recite stories he wrote of classic hockey games. From there, he became fascinated with movie scripts and song lyrics. Rich soon became an avid writer of poetry and now belongs to a local poetry club. He hopes this will be just the beginning of his published work. Rich lives in the northeast region of the United States with his lovely partner Nancy and beautiful daughter Dakota.

Elvis the King of Rock ‘n’ Roll.
The curled lip, the shaking hip,
White man body, black man soul.
Elvis the King of Rock ‘n’ Roll.
Born in Mississippi, raised in Tennessee,
Used his music to set the body free.
Elvis the King of Rock ‘n’ Roll.

The hillbilly cat was called the Memphis Flash.
Elvis the King of Rock ‘n’ Roll.
Managed by the Colonel got the G.I. Blues,
It was Heartbreak Hotel for this Hound Dog.
Elvis Presley the King of Rock ‘n’ Roll.
Making movies on the silver screen
And watching him on TV, became obscene.
Crazed crowds, teenage girls, riots,
That’s Alright Mama, Love Me Tender
Ain’t nobody like Elvis we remember.
Teddy Bear, All Shook Up, Jail House Rock,
Got all the stuckups in a huff and puff.
Years later he did their TV shows a favor,
Was he their Good Luck Charm
Or the Devil in Disguise?
Suspicious Minds, Moody Blue
Rock was here to stay, and the king paved the way.
In the Ghetto or Cold Kentucky Rain,
From Memphis to Las Vegas, you know the name.
Elvis the King of Rock ‘n’ Roll.
Don’t Think Twice
Folk to rock, are you some kind of Judas?
Ramblin’ from Hibbing to the village, are you some kind of prophet?
Voice of a generation, the
