About this ebook

Book II is about a Jewish man named Mel who was Sunnys best friend and guitar player in his band. He and his wifes family experience the Tribulation of the Last Days mentioned in the Bible which immediately follows the Translation of the Church. The onslaught of the Antichrist brings them to Petra, the Rose Red City in the Middle East where they witness the Remnant of Israel gathered again after 2,500 years. They come face to face with the Messiah in the wilderness before becoming a part of the Lords Army in the battle for Jerusalem. Gods Judgements begin to fall the very earth is in travail. The information from the Prophets and Jesus becomes a living reality at this time as it was in the days of old.

Dear Friends, God bless you! I pray that you are prospering even as your soul prospers. I wanted to give you some background on myself as an author, composer, singer, and musician. I am a Christian who has studied the Bible — the history of it, eschatology, and related theologies for more than forty years, and I have been involved with creative writing since I was a child. I started writing when I was only seventeen years old and have attended several colleges and universities where professors respected my talents and encouraged me to enter various state and national contests. I was a recording artist back when engineers used wide tape and producers cut records as 45’s. I have taken private lessons on several different instruments including percussion, violin, piano, organ, bass, and guitar. I have also taken vocal lessons from three different professors and composition from a conservatory composer. I played as a professional musician on the road for over ten years. At one time, I was being produced as a single artist with a management organization out of Washington, DC. I have worked with many recording studios and have had bids on my results from major recording labels. The reason I have mentioned my qualifications as a musician here is that the main character in this book is a musician. In order to write his story I needed firsthand experience and a clear understanding of the music industry — I had to be informed on the culture and trends of the era of which I have written. To write this character’s adventures I studied many areas of the globe and became intimately involved with various religious beliefs. Having had close relationships with many families, I have done extensive research on this subject. I am dedicating my first book, I’LL BE HERE WAITING, to my mother... and to yours. The sequel is entitled UNDER MY WING. I hope you will enjoy them both and find them informative and interesting.   Sincerely, Lemuel

    Bibliography

I dedicate the second book in this series to my dear little

wife who I cherish so much. She has been my inspiration.

    From the Author

This is the sequel to Book 1, it picks up where my first volume left off: Sunny has been raptured. The first book, I’LL BE HERE WAITING, was so named because the main character, Sunny Smiles, has gone on in hopes that many of his friends will follow. This passage from Revelation Chapter 4 describes the scene in heaven just after the incredible event – the Rapture.

    verses 2 thru 5:

2 And immediately I was in the spirit: and, behold, a throne was set in heaven, and one sat on the throne.

3 And he that sat was to look upon like a jasper and a sardine stone: and there was a rainbow round about the throne, in sight like unto an emerald.

4 And round about the throne were four and twenty seats: and upon the seats I saw four and twenty elders sitting, clothed in white raiment; and they had on their heads crowns of gold.

5 And out of the throne proceeded lightnings and thunderings and voices: and there were seven lamps of fire burning before the throne, which are the seven Spirits of God.

In theology it is commonly understood that John saw God the Father in heaven sitting upon His throne; the rainbow and gems show the glory of God and the elders are believed to represent the Church in heaven after the rapture has taken place. The number four and twenty represents the Church as priests before God even as David divided the Levitical priesthood into 24 sections.

In this second book I have written, a Jewish man named Mel is the premier character; he and Sunny were close friends who had worked together for many years as musicians. Mel has taken a job as guitar player for a prominent studio out of Nashville, Tennessee. The final days of the earth as he knows it are unfolding before his eyes – keep in mind that the Jews are paramount in God’s plan for His revelation of Christ and of the Judgment of the Nations. Sit tight for a close up look as the years continue and the doors open into… the Great Tribulation.

    Matthew chapter 23:

O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, thou that killest the prophets, and stonest them which are sent unto thee, how often would I have gathered thy children together, even as a hen gathereth her chickens under her wings, and ye would not! Behold, your house is left unto you desolate.

For I say unto you, Ye shall not see me henceforth, till ye shall say,

BLESSED IS HE THAT COMETH IN THE NAME OF THE LORD.

    PROLOGUE

    Year date: 2002

It had been just about two years since the world had seen the Great Catastrophe; but now with so many other natural displays of disaster, in contrast the main event seems to be peace in the Middle East. Mikael has been getting a stronger foothold in the world politically and economically, the new microchip is in use and has fast become commonplace – currencies are nearly a thing of the past.

The United States is fighting the War on Terrorism but Israel is experiencing peace with its neighbors for the first time since the days of Solomon. A new temple is being erected in Jerusalem and the daily sacrifice has been reinstituted. The church is still a powerful organization; however it is as the apostle Paul predicted in 2 Timothy 3:5 – Having a form of godliness but denying the power thereof: from such turn away. Religions are becoming unified, especially because of the government eliciting their help socially regarding the present onslaught of destruction. There are few families anymore and many of the church leaders are either homosexual or bisexual – lesbian women are having children in laboratories choosing their male counterparts via the government sperm bank. Cloning is also becoming very popular since technology has advanced dramatically. Except for the United Nations Security Advisor, Mikael, computers are just about running the whole world. China has become a major economic player now, but their pollution is seriously endangering the planet (the earth is still dependent on oil.) Because Mikael is strong in the U.N., Israel is militarily protected by the Council. Islamic countries however are on the rampage stockpiling weapons and promoting terrorist groups… it’s not a wonderful time to be alive. This is the first half of the Tribulation Period, the last seven years of earth’s history spoken of by Daniel the prophet.

    Daniel chapter 9, verse 24:

Seventy weeks are determined upon thy people and upon thy holy city, to finish the transgression, and to make reconciliation for iniquity, and to bring in everlasting righteousness, and to seal up the vision and prophesy, and to anoint the most Holy.

The seventy weeks described here have to do with God’s finished work concerning the nation Israel; the time period is divided into two sections – the first 69 weeks and the last seventieth week. All prophesies before the Kingdom of God coming on the earth are completed here. At the end of the sixty-ninth week prophesied, the Messiah is cut off and the Temple and Jerusalem are destroyed. There is a secret dispensation that falls between this break in time. We know now that it is the Church Age, but this mystery was not revealed before the writing of the New Testament…

Seventy weeks began with a decree in Nehemiah ordering the rebuilding of Jerusalem and its wall in the Jewish month of Nissan 445 B.C. By using a 360-day year as described in Genesis 7:11 and 8:4; 7:24 and 8:3; Revelation 12:6,7,13,14 with 13:4-7, Sir Robert Anderson calculated the end of the sixty-ninth week; it fell precisely on Palm Sunday before the Lord’s crucifixion. It should be clear that the first 69 weeks have been literally fulfilled, and so will the last. God is not yet finished with the Jew (reference Deuteronomy 29, Daniel 9:24, and Luke 21:24.)

    CHAPTER 1

    HELLO ISRAEL!

    Mel:

Hey man – how’d you get my e-mail address? I thought the only one who had that was Mikael. I’ve only had this computer now for about a year so I’m just a babe. I’ve worked day and night to get the upper hand on it though, sometimes my head is still on line when the computer is turned off. In fact, I think I recently got a download from some dude who says he was there when it all began… and he means when it ALL began. I asked this guy if he was a managed user account but he said no – he said he was the root! I contested stating that I was the administrator and wasn’t hip to having someone else ahead of me. I haven’t heard back from him lately.

    How’s everything in Ol’ Jerusalem?

    Zeke:

There’s some brother here who calls himself Enoch. He’s been performing devastating displays of power down at the Wailing Wall. Yeah man – I’m not kiddin’… when he holds his hands up the wind gets violent and lightning flashes across the sky. It is awesome!

    Mel:

I have another session here in Nashville this week with Brooks and Dunn, and then I’m free for nearly a month. Maybe we can fly out to see you and Becky.

    Zeke:

That sounds wonderful, we’ll be looking forward to seeing you and Esther. I need some help here at the station. I’ve been having problems resetting some of the computers. By the way, what ever happened to Smiles? I know you and he worked together for a long time. You played guitar on most of his cuts didn’t you; and also went with him on his last tour.

    Mel:

The last time I heard about him was when his wife told me he was on his way to Israel… that was before the Great Catastrophe.

    Zeke:

It’s been nearly two years since all those people were listed missing. It’s a good thing Mikael initiated the GPS identity system, now nearly everybody has the microchip. People are very much at peace here in Jerusalem; it must be the first time in thousands of years. Before Mikael there wasn’t a day that went by without a bomb exploding somewhere. I better sign off. I’m getting backed up with phone calls pertaining to that guy Enoch – I’m still on the air you know… Peace brother.

    Your Friend,

    Zeke

Friday’s session was a long one. Mel had been doing takes at the Sony Studio since 10:00 p.m. Thursday night and his eyes looked like maraschino cherries. When he finally left the building he walked with a limp leaning to one side, his guitar case over his back. He walked over to his car and noticed a parking ticket stuck under the windshield wiper.

Man what is wrong with these people – can’t they read the sticker on my bumper. I have free parking at this studio.

He slid into his MG convertible putting his instrument on the passenger seat beside him.

Brum-m, brum-m… gunning the engine he blasted out into the fast lane cutting off an oncoming vehicle. Whizzing down the boulevard with his cell phone in the hand he had on the steering wheel he fiddled around pushing his thumb under the case until it flipped open.

Hel-lo, you got anything to eat over there? he said covering his ear. Okay, I’ll stop and pick somethin’ up.…… What?…… Eggs, tomato juice, meat – don’t cha have anything in the refrigerator?…… Okay; I get the idea…… Yeah – I love you too.

The phone clipped shut and he hit fourth gear. The old sign on the billboard read: Newsong – Get their newest CD NOW! Mel knew the advertisement was over two years old as he glanced at the lead singer’s hair standing straight up. Another religious rock group; where do they all come from, he thought to himself. Flying out of downtown going away from Recording Row he caught the beltway around Nashville. There was another billboard, and then another – "Come to the Grand ol’ Oprey " the last one begged.

He turned into the nearest Piggly Wiggly and walked through the electric doors. Looking down at a pile of newspapers on the floor beside the bubblegum machine he noticed the headlines:

    A GIFT FROM MIKAEL.

He grabbed one of the papers and read on.

The great U.N. advisor presented an offer to the world today while speaking at the European Economic Common Market… I have a friend who we should convince to serve as Chief of Religious Affairs. The world needs a man like this, there’s not another person on the planet that can handle a position like that. We need Jacob Zolak!

As he read on he could see world opinion in support of the man’s request:

Tony Blair says, The appointment would strengthen the European effort to consolidate a spirit of unification to all people.

Opposition immediately came in from Russia and China. Vladimir Putin stated that he rejected the further spread of religious attitudes throughout Eastern Europe and Russia, and the Chinese charged that the emergence of this friend of Mikael’s is just another capitalist scheme. As a communist country they condemned the very idea of such a maneuver."

The thick black headlines had attracted Mel’s attention; however, most of the shoppers were experiencing apathetic attitudes which had fast become a trait of the New Age referred to by the U.N. advisor. After getting his food he waited in the line at the supermarket office. An old man in front of him was unraveling a crumpled up dollar bill as he commented to the woman next in line…

It’s getting harder to find anyone who’ll take paper money anymore, he said.

The irritable clerk from the office overheard his comment – You’ll just have to get a microchip like the rest of the world she stated.

After slowly pulling into the lot Mel got out of the old sports car and struggled through the front door. His grocery bag and guitar in hand, he realized the old townhouse had cost him a pretty penny. Though he thought living together was more reasonable than a legal marriage he really did appreciate coming home to Esther – anyhow, most couples didn’t bother to get married anymore.

How-war-r ya? he said teasing her. Though Esther still had that strong New York Jewish accent neither of them had seen the inside of a synagogue since they were kids. She loved Mel and immediately threw her arms around his neck.

What took ya so long? she said smiling. With her red curly hair she was a radiant woman; Mel pushed it back over her shoulders and kissed her on the neck.

These people don’t accept money anymore – we’re gonna have ta git dat stupid microchip I guess, he told her.

As they sat at the table eating breakfast he asked: How’d ya like to go visit your parents?

What cha mean? They live in Israel she replied pessimistically.

Mel looked up from his eggs and said: I got an e-mail from your brother Zeke this morning. He wants us to come see ’em.

We can’t afford that, she immediately stated, but he came back.

I’ve got almost a month off so I thought you might be able to squeeze a free flight ticket out of your boss… you do work at the airport ya know.

They had to wait a week and fly on Monday night, however soon they were over the city lights on their way out of the United States. As they spoke on the plane Mel leaned over and looked into Esther’s eyes.

You know, I used to play music with Sunny Smiles. He was a very religious dude; I recall him trying to talk me into acceptin’ Jesus as the Messiah once. Yeah? she quipped.

Yeah, Mel replied. I wonder what ever happened to him? Who – Jesus? (she joked).

No – Sunny. Mel sat deep in thought as he turned his head looking out the window into the distance.

Zeke and his wife Becky met them at the airport in Tel Aviv. Esther hadn’t seen her family or her brother in two years and Zeke ran up to his sister as soon as he saw her. Giving her a big bear hug that lifted her off the floor, he exclaimed:

Shalom, Little One. Welcome to Israel!

How are our parents? Esther said loudly bursting with joy.

Mother is fine Zeke replied, obviously avoiding discussion relating to his father. Esther appeared dazed and tired due to the jet lag.

There weren’t any delays or searches entering Customs, Mel commented. Man, this place has dropped all barriers to the outside hasn’t it?

Becky responded. Yeah. Alot has changed since you were here last.

Zeke loaded their luggage into the old Mercedes and journeyed through the small towns of Israel toward Jerusalem. On their way they stopped
