About this ebook
Christine Carrington
This is the third book of the Sock City series, It’s Big Time. Since the publication of Christine’s first book, Sock City: Missing Town—Missing Things, it has been her pleasure to visit Franklin Elementary School teacher Tasha Hatten in North Carolina, where eighty-four children read her book and made a Sock City Village and clothing for this microscopic society for a class project recommended by Christine Carrington. For the past three years she has given a comprehension class at the prestigious Campbell University to the future teachers who read the hard copy of Sock City: Missing Town—Missing Things. Following a book signing at Barnes & Noble in Burlington, Massachusetts, Christine went to the Danvers Community Access Television, where she was interviewed by host Veronica Andrews and was compared to J. K. Rowling. Ms. Andrews stated, “You have given such a gift to so many people. It’s not just a book to children but also to the parents. Everything you share with us, others learn.” Christine is working on a play for a local theater in Raleigh. It all started at the age of nine when her loving mother swapped a household item for an old Royal typewriter on a local radio station. Her books contain old-fashioned values and lessons to be learned along the way instilled by her mother, who encouraged the love of family, friends, and others and always remembering to pray, have faith, and thank God. Pictures of the school, university, interview, and “The Firefly Song,” also on YouTube, can be seen on her website: www.christinecarringtonsockcity.com

a split second decision, could turn into lifelong consequences. Essence and Ray, zap a young man called Blake from the Land of the Giants. They decide to bring him back to Sock City -causing fear and uncertainty among the town’s people. During a firefly flight beyond Sock City’s boundaries, Blake and Ray discover a forgotten and incomplete microscopic society called Roach Town. The needs of these people are many and Sock City extends a helping hand that initiates a venture of humanity and good will to these very grateful beings. Blake returns to the "Land of Giants but not without something that will touch the hearts of his family. A picnic celebration between both towns Sock City and Roach Town took place where the two cities enter into the main contest which resulted in the stickiest honey bee game of the century. Friendships are made and lessons are learned making life much better for all. Happiness rains down on the residents of Sock City, when an emergency evacuation cause people to come racing to the spaceship. This event ends up reuniting a family- thought to have been lost from 20 years ago. New friends are made in and out of Sock City causing this very secretive civilization to stretch their humanity to its limit. The elders are concerned about what the future might bring to Sock City. Chapter 1- Followed
Time flashed by in this unsuspecting microscopic world. In just a few weeks of following Dr. Hall and Ray, Essence had made great strides in preparing to gain access to the SCRAT’s secret organization dominated by men. Following Ray and her father to the departure room of SCRAT would be no easy task. With Essence’s organizational skills and knowledge, she diligently checked everything off of her-to do list. Carefully and without hesitation, the uniform was made identical, right down to the last golden thread sewed onto the SCRAT badge lettering. Preparing for this event did not just mean making the uniform, it took a lot of planning and physical training on Essence’s part. Each and every morning at 7:00 a.m. Essence would dress in her workout clothes and jog to the park. This location was where Sock City had all of their events during the year. Running, jumping, grabbing the handle bars and climbing over the walls, were also used for training the men of SCRAT organization. Lucky for Essence, all of the equipment was left up in the park during the year. Essence’s body, mind and spirit was now ready and no one could even try to stop her. Essence’s body was firm, slim and athletic and in prime shape- an excellent specimen for any SCRAT Team Candidate. The
