Born and raised in Arkansas County, Arkansas. Began writing poetry at the age of eight years old. continued to write and began writing little short stories around the age of ten, then quit a little, then started writing again then at the age of thirteen years old. Started being bullied at school and kept journals of the bullied and knockdowns that the boys gave me. Kept writing and have been to this day. Graduate of Stuttgart high School during 1969 and graduate of the University of Arkansas at Little Rock by the year 2001. Has been working at the Daily Leader since June 10, 2002.

    Through the years, my brother and I have heard all of the stories, names of the people and the happenings of Little Cubie. To my mother, who is 85 years of age and will be 86 when this book is published, the memories and images are still real.

    This a work of love from my mother who dictated it to me as the best she could remember. It is a gift from her to the future generations who have no idea what the Greatest Generation endured.

    There are a number of things that a number of my cousins have never heard of and some may think never happened but they did. My mother has told them many times to my brother and me.
