Following Katherine Cobb’s ‘Focus On’ article on the topic of illegitimacy in the April issue of the magazine, I would like to suggest that we do not dismiss the father’s name on the marriage certificate of illegitimate children, when such names are given. I know we are told that they are often fabricated, but I have found several instances where they warrant further investigation.
