Ahwen is a young fox that loves exploring the woods. He writes all his memories in his beloved journal. From maps to what to eat, Ahwen's journal is the most important possession he has. One day he misplaces his journal and finds his friends to ask them if they had seen it. Sadly, he never finds his journal but learns he will never forget his adventures because they live in his heart and mind. At the end of the story, the final page tells the reader if they find an old book in the woods, they need to keep it safe and enjoy the pages. They might just have found Ahwen's journal.

Alice Alder

My name is Alice Alder. I'm a twenty-four-year-old postgraduate student from Western Australia. For the past three years, I studied visual arts and media relations and design. I was invited to do honors but decided to go on and work as a graphic designer. During my second year of media studies, I wrote and illustrated Ahwen's Journal. I had been drawing this little fox and his many friends for three years, and I finally wrote a story to bring life to them. A lot of books use digital illustrations, but I like to focus on the hand-drawn qualities of water color illustrations. I combine my skills in media and art to bring the book to life.
