In the book I Am Someone Special, the author shares the story of her dysfunctional childhoodher journey through the road of drug addiction and drug dealing and how she struggled to leave her dark past behind and move on to a new and better life.

Ms. Hernandez did not experience the kind of childhood others enjoy by being adopted into a wealthy, well-off family. She failed to receive the affection she wanted from her parents, particularly from her adoptive mother.

The author was the youngest among seven children and the one who received the worst treatment from her alcoholic mother, who was also addicted to drugs. Her birthmother had stabbed her in the head when she was a nine-month-old baby.

After an incident that almost robbed the author of her life, she was placed into an orphanage, where her adoptive parents rescued her.

The authors adoptive family gave her the love she had long wanted, along with everything she and her adopted brother and sister could ask for.

But despite it all, Ms. Hernandez became rebellious, especially as a teenager. Her rebellious teenage years eventually led her to the wrong path as she started using drugs and selling it as well.

She worked further into the drug business until she got caught and sentenced for a couple years in prison. After serving her sentence, the author strived to live a clean life and start anew.

With the help of her faith in God and the support of the man she loves, she managed to reinvent herself into a better and strong person.

I am Belinda Hernandez, and this is a story I would like to share with you. On September 26, 1966, I was born in El Paso, Texas. It was hot as ever in the summer of June. It was very hot in our one-bedroom house, where I lived with six other brothers and sisters. I was the seventh child, and I was the baby of the house. One afternoon, all the kids were screaming and crying, and it was driving my mom angrier by the minute. I was nine months old. My mother was on drugs, and she loved to drink alcohol. One afternoon, she couldn’t take it anymore with all the screaming and crying. So one day, she took me into the kitchen and she took a knife and she stabbed me in the head. I was hospitalized for a few years, then I was placed into an orphanage.

I am not a movie star I am not famous but I do have a special s2ry 2 share with u the hard truth about this s2ry is that I survived the abusive families. Do u remember events from the time of ur childhood? Have u locked ur memories deep inside u? I would like 2 help u bring them back 2 light. Only when repressed memories resurface can we cleanse n trans4m them. U can always count on me when u wish 2 remember something. I can easily remember my past. I will help u grant ur current wish or I will try 2 help u 2 get 2 it. I am here 2 help u 2 remember ur past. But 2day is the day n 2morrow is just another day. Begin 2 appreciate urself. Except urself the way u are. Realize u're worth respect of urself. Become aware of ur Light n radiate It in2 ur surroundings. Do not worry about the opinions of others. Start now n do not wait 4 2morrow. It is all 1 day at a time. How do u except urself n others. Do u accept ur life the way it is at this very moment? Is it easy 4 u 2 accept constructive criticism? Do u accept ur children n ur husbn or ur wife unconditionally? Learn 2 accept events in ur life u would rather c gone. Contemplate deeply n think about it. First trying 2 except u the way u are. U have 2 start with urself, ask 4 assistance n I will help u. Just take it 1 day at a time. 4 real I am 1 unique person I have a heart of gold do u have difficulties choosing friends. Are u afraid u might make the wrong decision on ur own? Think about it from the divine point of view. Every decision is right. U can always choose ur reactions. The way u emotionally react 2 a situation u find urself it is up 2 u. In each moment my choices are in accordance with the divine well. I decide consciously n with responsibility. Do u c beauty around u is it inside u consider this n find me so I can join u n help u find the beauty within u? In others n in ur surroundings. It is time 4 u 2 realize the beauty in ur soul. Why not make life more beautiful. Begin 2 really understn how wonderful it is. It is time 4 u 2 start experiencing the beauty In harmony with in u n in ur home. Stop n look in the mirror n say I am very beautiful. No matter what size of problem I can always help. Decide 2 open up ur heart I can help u do that I will help u 4give urself n others. I will help u 2 4give the past. I will help u 2 regain ur feelings 2 love urself n others. If u do not love urself u cannot love others. With my help u will feel unconditional love 2 reach out each day n witness miracles happening in ur life. Reach out 2 me. Ask me. What's on ur mind? Relax the tension in ur body. Get a massage, exercise begin 2 practice yoga. Begin 2 practice all the things that no longer serve ur highest purpose. Allow urself 2 release all ur worries n negative mental n emotional patterns. Live 4 the moment. Don't live in the past do not worry about the future 2 much. Just live it 1 day at a time. U feel a need 4 harmony n balance in ur life. N indeed are starting 2 feel that some peace has already been restored, If u have been through some 2ugh times, such as break up of a Relationship or financial problems. Peace will be restored, However if u are still experiencing problems this is the time 4 calm, Careful control n patient n u will soon have a sense of normality again. U feel there is hope or if u don't, have faith. If u have been ill, Suffered disappointment in love, take heart, good 4tune is on its way. New horizons are indicated n u will feel a new zest in life. If considering a new love affair or a new job or new career or travel Then go 4 it. U may also receive a gift or gifts. Carry-on as u are n take a risk. Some risk offer excitement n changes or stay as u are, Well u know what that has 2 offer, Dare 2 love, dare 2 live. This is a truly creative n fertile time, expect the best if u are considering having a child, create a new job or a new business opportunity or starting a creative project. Have joy n happiness n faith. Lies N insecurity are likely 2 be in ur life at the moment. U are afraid of being deceived n feel that u are being misled, Trust ur instincts n let them guide u away. Knowing that they won't let u down, there are moral issues here knowing right from wrong. N u may feel that u need some advice or wise counsel from a teacher, priest, parent or some1 u have a lot of respect 4, In order 2 make the right decisions have faith n trust n make the right decisions 1 day at a time. This is a time 4 some good luck n rewards 4 ur good deeds in life. I suggest that what u must want at this time is an easy solution 2 a problem, however in life turmoil n up brings about change just not quite as we would like it. Seize this opportunity of change as a change 4 a new beginning. U may want 2 move but Will be experiencing set back work 2day could be a new experience, the beginning of a new life with peace n love with a little faith. Get on ur knees n pray n Ask God 2 come in2 ur heart. It's only 1 day at a time. Ask 4 peace n harmony in ur daily life. It is only 1 day at a time. Are u in a position where u need 2 reevaluate ur life n move away from those friends that don't support u? Our friends are also our reflection, so u think about ur motives n began 2 change urself. Contemplating whether u love n support ur friend unconditionally. Begin 2 choose friends with careful consideration. Like I have said 4 I am here 2 help u choose the right friend.
