About this ebook

I wrote this poem after the death of my wife. I was alone, searching for answers.

I was lost even with family and friends around me giving me great support.

I began to write poetry on my travels. I generally rode alone. Soon after writing this poem, I found myself. Yes, my writing seemed to be apologetic but sincere. I worked at not feeling sorry for myself.

The Lonely Biker - Timothy M Nugent

    Introduction to THE LONELY BIKER

The poem you read as an introduction is the genesis of the E-book.

I wrote this poem after the death of my wife. I was alone searching for answers.

I was lost even with family and friends around me giving me great support.

I began to write poetry on my travels. I generally rode alone. Soon after writing this poem

I found myself. Yes, my writing seemed to be apologetic, but sincere. I worked at not feeling sorry for myself.

I rode my full dress Harley all over the country. Giving me inspiration, watching and listening to people. It was a great experience. Soon my best friend began to go on my travels. Steve has always been an influence on me. We enjoy each others company. Soon I met another companion, Corina. She would accompany me on my travels. She inspired me to write poetry travel books. I wrote two: Travels with the Wildman1& 2. Corina would take pictures as we rode around the country. This Lady has real grit. We rode in some inclement weather and she still got great pictures.

Corina and I jetted to Costa Rica together and never looked back. I am in the middle of writing a poetry book on Costa Rica. Hopefully out by June. Also, I have two more travel books almost ready to print.

Back to Lone Rider. I attempt to write a story in rhyme about a young man fighting adversity and loss. To seek revenge and honor as he fights injustice in his little part of the world. He rides a souped-up Harley; is well trained in martial arts and a great shot with his guns. Two forty fives he has strapped to his chest. He finds purpose in life, falls in love and releases his demons.

The story was developed from the poem The Lonely Biker, which was first introduced in my first travelogue. I hope this short rhythmic story is found entertaining and you ask me to write more about this character. By the way, his name is Mark.

    Thank you,

    Timothy M Nugent

    The lonely biker

The lonely biker heads for the lake

He is alone to remember his mistakes

No one in sight he rides alone

Waiting for his way to be shown

His quiet begins with the start of his bike

The engine crackling and sparking like a lighting strike

A zen that holds him in a void

Absence of his troubles while he is on his toy

    He searches out lonely roads

The kind only a few know

Maybe one or two cars may appear

Usually, they get lost in his rear view mirror

    He refuses to suffer fools

He would rather be alone than break that rule

Nature and loneliness are his allies

He hits the road and breaks all ties

    The vibration
