    FORWARD

Tucked in between Judges and First Samuel is a lovely story of how God works in the lives of people throughout the ages of time.

This little family had to make a difficult decision. The decision they made was right in their eyes, but as a consequence it brought disaster and misery.

Amazingly God had all in control even though they made a mistake, in the end all worked out in a wonderful way.

As you read it, you will see how God’s love was displayed in the characters and how He worked in the lives of the people.

He is the same today. We can embrace His love if we place our lives under His control.

    ACKNOWLEDGEMENTS

When I decided to write a story based on Ruth and shared the idea with family and friends, I was encouraged to go ahead and see how it went. I was very conscious that God gave me the message of His kindness and providence, and He enabled me to share it in this book.

It was not easy to find suitable illustrations for a story written thousands of years ago, so am grateful that a good friend of mine is an artist. Mary Rose Backeberg, from New South Wales, offered to do the illustrations for me. Thank you - Mary Rose!

When the text was first written, I needed someone who could proof read it. Valerie McDowell was the first one who came to my mind. She very graciously went through the book and assisted me in putting it together. Valerie, thank you!

My thanks goes to all who had
