About this ebook

Have you ever heard of a bird that was afraid of heights? Well, Augie is one such bird. Augies life was limited to his nest, where he lived with his fears. He was so afraid; he couldnt even leave his nest to get out on the limb his nest rested upon. He lived with embarrassment as the other birds flew by, teasing him and laughing at him. Then one day, out of nowhere, Coleman the Cat showed up at Augies nest. That was when everything changed for Augie. The two struck up a rather unusual friendship, and what follows is how Coleman helps Augie deal with his fears and his insecurities. Youll have to read the book, however, to see if Augie ever gets over his fears and really flies.

I was born and raised in Chicago, Illinois. I lived there with my mother, stepfather, and three sisters. After I graduated from high school in 1999, I moved to Iowa for a change of scenery, where I currently live with my two children. I currently attend Grand Canyon University where I will soon receive my bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education and afterward open up a day-care center with a school-like setting. This is my first children’s poetry book but not my last.

Snuggled all warm and cozy in his nest, high up in the tree, Augie opened his newborn eyes for the very first time. Blinking one time and then two times, he saw that he was surrounded by the warm feathers of his mum. Sleeping right next to him was Snookie, his sister. The sun was shining. Augie felt warm and safe. It was a glorious day!
