Teachings Beyond Religion

About this ebook
Fear of death is what causes us to worship death. We worship death when we put death on a pedestal and pay for expensive funerals, dress the lifeless body in finery, lay the lifeless body in a satin lined casket made of fine wood, lower the casket into the ground, and identify the location with an expensive gravestone. Then we walk away, to wait for the event to happen to us.
It is easy to believe that we do not live after death, regardless of all that Holy Script teaches, regardless of all that spiritual teachers have taught since the beginning of time. When we see a loved one take their last breath, we witness a fact. There is no hidden meaning. The loved one is gone. We are left with emptiness and, sometimes, unbearable sorrow. There are those who believe only what they can see. Death is the end of life. No amount of reasoning can convince them otherwise.
Reincarnation is the second most mysterious mystery. If we live again, why dont we remember?
This book is presented to provide enlightenment regarding these two mysterious mysteries.
Knowledge of the most sublime spiritual mysteries exists; and some of the greatest esoteric teachings known to man are presented in this book for the readers enlightenment.
Those who have eyes to see let him see.

ESOTERIC TEACHINGS
This primer is compiled from the inner teachings of many esoteric writers. Through study, meditation, and the implementation of some of this knowledge into everyday living, a metonia (change of mind) will occur.
We are told plainly: Be prudent and wise, and above all take care what those who learn from you believe in; lest by deceiving themselves they deceive others, for such is the fate of every truth with which men are, as yet, unfamiliar.
Let rather sub-cosmic mysteries remain a dreamland for those who can neither see, nor yet believe that others can.
The Biblical scriptures contain two distinct interpretations: one for the spiritually unevolved, the other for the spiritually evolved. The unevolved interpret the scriptures literally, word-for-word; the spiritually evolved interpret the scriptures with spiritual insight, knowing that the scriptures represent the necessary lessons for the evolution of the soul.
The spiritually evolved know that the original sin is man’s thinking that he is a separate entity from God, and that all sin is thus created from this attitude. The greatest sin, or error, is departing from this one law or scripture, Love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and thy neighbor as thyself.
There is only one power – that of God – omnipotent and omnipresent, and that Satan, or the Devil, is not a separate power from God, but represents each soul’s lower ego-self that must be cleansed and purified, or overcome, with the ultimate uniting of the cleansed lower self, (conscious ego-self) with the God Self.
The paragraphs in this book are separated by a double space … to provide a slight moment for spiritual refreshment.

THE MYSTERIOUS MYSTERIES
Death and reincarnation are the two most mysterious of the spiritual mysteries. It is easy to reject the truth behind both of them. After all, when a person dies they stop breathing. The big question becomes: What happens at death? What is its mystery? Does a person cease to exist after their last breath has been taken?
Fear of death is what causes us to worship death. We worship death when we put death on a pedestal and pay for expensive funerals, dress the lifeless body in finery, lay the lifeless body in a satin lined casket made of fine wood, lower the casket into the ground and identify the location with an expensive gravestone. PREFACE
The teachings in this book are often referred to as "New Age." Actually they are more "Old Age" than "New Age,"—or, to be precise, they are "Ageless"—ageless in that they have existed since the beginning of time, predating religion. In fact, the reason religion came into existence was to teach mankind that spiritual laws exist in their daily lives.
As human beings gradually descended from awareness of their Divinity, esoteric knowledge – knowledge of the inner-self - was maintained by a specialized few, known as priests, who preserved the sacred teachings in temples where they were presented to seekers who sought to understand the mystery behind physical life. Temples became mystery schools, and students seeking spiritual understanding became initiates, or insiders. As initiates advanced in their learning they became adepts, and masters, with gifts such as clairvoyance, clairaudience, with the ability to project them-selves astrally and travel on inner planes.
For working people who could not comprehend the deeper teachings of life beyond the physical, the priesthood used symbols and ceremony to convey a more simplistic approach. Priests became High Priests, and High Priests became very powerful and, in time, instead of worshipping The Power, they worshiped "their power," becoming "The Establishment" of their time. High Priests eventually lost their awareness of the Divine … but they did not lose control over the people. It became dangerous to challenge them, or differ with them.
The Romans did not kill Jesus. The Jews did not kill Jesus. Jesus was killed by the establishment of his time. Organized religion, the church, was the establishment in Israel. The church was a monopoly. High Priests with their abundant wealth and impressive temple of marble and gold were the power behind that monopoly. Why kill the one man who did so much for the afflicted and downtrodden? Because this solitary man was about to shake the foundations of the church in such a way that had never been done before - in the way an earthquake shakes the foundation of a building. Because priests had misused their sacred authority, the time had arrived to put the power back into the hands of the individual – where it belonged - and Jesus was the agent for that teaching – the next step up the ladder of spiritual evolution.
Priests taught that people earned favor from God through the church. God was within the church, in the Holy of Holies. Jesus taught that God was within each individual, and that all an individual had to do was to enter into their closet - their mind - and commune in silence through their thoughts and emotions and God would listen and answer. It was a teaching of liberation. As psychic-mystic Edgar Cayce taught in the twentieth century: "Learn ye then to know Him as thine own Father, in whom ye may go in joy, in sorrow, in distress." In this regard, Jesus taught that individuals were their own priests. The highest power – the Father - was within each and every-one. God worked through the body. Their body was the temple in which they worshipped. The people had within themselves – The Holy Grail! This teaching was anathema to the High Priests. If people continued to follow Jesus their church would be without foundation; their establishment would crumble; High Priests would lose their power.
It was not difficult for the High Priests, with their pomp, influence, and intrigue, to inflame opposition to Jesus, this remarkable, but solitary man. Their survival depended upon it. They had access to the fanatics in the same way Mullas and Ayatollahs have influence over the fanatics of Islam in our present time. The High Priests in Israel did not want to lose their power over the people any more than the Mullas of Islam want to lose their power and influence over the people in Islamic countries in the twenty-first century.
Jesus knew the dark forces of the establishment were allayed against him when he rode into Jerusalem on a donkey. The people laid palms before Jesus in their joyous acceptance of him – a day presently celebrated as Palm Sunday. But Jesus knew of the opposing force that lay before him, a force that would be weakened if he would be successful in his mission of giving power back to the people by helping them understand that the Christ lived within each and every one of us, and not in any church building. After bribing and inflaming the fanatics, the troublemakers, the fearful and confused, the High Priests maneuvered the Roman Consul, Pontias Pilot, into condemning Jesus to death, thereby removing any threat to their secure power. Condemning Jesus to death is the clearest example of just how evil, evil can be.
Establishments have existed in all countries, throughout all times. When an organization becomes a monopoly, it becomes a member of the establishment, an elite power structure within society. Establishments inter-twine with other establishments; they respect and support one another’s interests. This support maintains their power. This power, I suspect, is the evil referred to - in a channeled reading by a Master Teacher - as "the evil that is in the Earth."
Establishments have power to control the working people. In today’s world, an establishment can be a church, a branch of government, a corporation, or an institution such as a bank or insurance company. Whereas a church could threaten: Do as we say or you will be condemned, big corporations threaten: Do as we say or you will be fired. With power the ability to control, through threats, exists.
Crucifixions did not end with the death of Jesus. Mullas in Moslem countries are the High Priests of today, crucifying anyone who challenges their authority over the people; and if they have to kill in the name of God, or Allah, they will kill. Under Islamic rule women are stoned to death in our present day for going against the Islamic Establishment. Islam is not the only church to use death as a tactic to keep people under control. The Catholic Church used torture during the Inquisition in the middle ages. They also burned people alive at the stake; ask Joan of Arc.
In his remarkable book, "Fifty Years In The Church of Rome," by Charles Chiniquy, and published by CHICK Publications, P.O. Box 3500, Ontario, CA, 91761-1019, USA - Charles Chiniquy states that the Catholic Church was behind the assassination of President Abraham Lincoln. John Wilkes Booth, wrote Charles Chiniquy, was nothing but the tool of the Jesuits. It was Rome, he wrote, who directed the arm of Booth, after corrupting his heart and damning his soul.
Charles Chiniquy was born in Quebec, Canada, in the 1800’s. He had been a Catholic priest for twenty-five years, and later became a citizen of the United States. His book details his experiences in the Catholic Church.
My understanding, from the book, is that Abraham Lincoln – as did Jesus of Nazareth – knew the dark forces of the religious establishment were allayed against him – and he understood what the results would be if those dark forces were successful in dismantling, or breaking up, the newly formed Union of the
