Having spent four decades as a night shift nurse., I encountered more unusual events then could be documented in any chart. Stories from the seasoned staff certainly remained steady, but it was the true to life experiences that could not be explained away that remained tangible. Having witnessed these events first hand, caused little doubt to form. Local folklore became entwined with actual encounters. Soon teams of experience Paranormal investigators, Anthropology Professors and students as well as the curious became involved in the quest to uncover everything from the malicious to macabre, and Divine to the unusual. Sybil Howe

Sybil is a new author whose recent credits include The Paranornal House, Tales from the Nightshift, and Coli’s Collection. She resides in Southeastern Maine between idyllic mountains and lakes, with her two best friends Ruby and Keno, her rescue dogs. AUTHOR’S STORY

This new author is most notably known for her recent publication called, The Paranormal House and co-authored Coli’s Collection with her nine-year-old granddaughter.

Being no stranger to the paranormal, her recent work entails her forty years in the medical field with all the unusual activities that can happen, especially when one works the graveyard shift.

Sybil continues to consult on occasion for those who fear what goes bump in the night.

She has retired to a peaceful lakefront retreat in Maine and may continue authoring further publications.

Her greatest accomplishments include being a mother, grandmother, four decades as a licensed nurse, and an inventor.

Sybil worked in the nursing profession for over forty years mostly on the graveyard shift. Being a skeptic by nature, she only documented but never really believed in everything unusual.

But as time went on, more witnessed phenomena and captured video would make her a believer.

The following stories are the ones that were perpetuated by numerous witnessed accounts, documented history and evidence.

BERTHA

When you are new to the medical profession, seasoned staff are much too obliging to fill you in with a variety of stories, of which you could have thought you’d never believe. One such story continues to be told after four decades.

It seems in the early 1970s a gracious old home once owned by a small group of Sisters of Christian Faith had been chosen for other uses.

Once renovations began to accommodate and expand its ability to house nursing home patients, clients on the second floor of the new wing began to report seeing a matronly gray haired woman who would come just after visiting hours and would provide them with a soothing back
