This publication is an attempt to inform the general public on the history of marijuana and hemp and latest developments about these two different species of cannabis. To say that news of marijuana has gone viral is an understatement. Dr. Sanjay Gupta, MD and Medical Correspondent for CNN, reached millions of TV viewers in Aug 2013 with a special on Weed. The CNN Special exposed a new marijuana strain, Charlotte’s Web, which contains very very small amounts of THC, the euphoric part of the marijuana plant. Charlotte’s Web, is giving hope in calming seizures in children with epilepsy. A second follow up special, Weed 2, aired March 11, 2014. Joel Stanley of Colorado Springs spent several years developing Charlotte’s Web and named it after Charlotte Fiji, a young girl who received miraculous calming of her epilepsy. Word about Charlottes Web spread world-wide and, with the help of his brothers, Joel formed Stanley Brothers Social Enterprises. Due to worldwide exposure and being flooded with patients it was necessary to expand their operation. A detailed account of the history of their successful grow and treatment facility is covered in the Charlotte’s Web Story. We have divided the book into 2 sections: Section 1: Marijuana and Section 2: Hemp. Hopefully after reading this book you will have a better understanding of these two different species of cannabis which apparently had a similar beginning way back when.

Now concerning the title of this special issue, There Was Marijuana in the Garden of Eden. What’s that all about? After reading extensively about the history of marijuana and hemp old such as ancient Chinese cannabis healthcare literature and an excavated Shaman tomb and new developments such as Charlotte’s Web, it is obvious, at least in my mind, that human kind was created with marijuana, evolved with marijuana or was transplanted from another planet with marijuana and or hemp. My reasoning for this theory is as follows: Scientists have discovered about 70 different Phytocanabinoids (plant cannabinoids) in marijuana and/or hemp plants and about the same number of endocannabinoids (receptor cannabinoids) found in the human body and other animals. This indicates a symbiotic relationship between the animal kingdom and the plant kingdom from their beginnings.

Concerning cannabis, hemp or marijuana: Marijuana phytocannabinoiods have dominant THC (tretahydrocannabinods) molecules that generally create euphoria or a high. One can actually overdose on higher THC dominate marijuana strains. Hemp phytocannabinoids have dominant CBD molecules in the seed, leaves and fiber material in the hemp stalks. The cannabinoid molecules in the hemp leaves offer healing effects to the body and nervous system. One cannot overdose on CBD molecules unlike THC molecules in marijuana. CBD molecules are effective in treating diseases such as epilepsy, M.S., and cancer with little or no side effects. It is now possible for humans and animals to be treated effectively, naturally, and economically with CBD rich cannabis compounds.

As marijuana research evolves, and word travels on various media networks, individuals will be able to grow their own marijuana and hemp, process it into oils for more complete ingestion to treat their own diseases. Patients will be able to get updated information from a qualified cannabis health care professionals as to the latest hemp and marijuana formula updates. These procedures are already taking place in states that have passed medical marijuana programs. As more health care experts get involved better strains of cannabis will evolve to more efficiently treat diseases Some articles presented in this issue tend to reveal the wonders of THC molecules in the marijuana buds and CBD molecules in the hemp leaves and various fibers in the hemp stalks. The development of new organic cannabis products will create new industries on a individual or community level bringing down health care costs. Growing hemp in the U.S. will also allow the processing of new products at a local level. Cannabis will create thousands of new jobs worldwide. Some of our articles and filler news have been produced by other individuals for other publications and with their permission we have presented their articles here to augment the title and theme of our publication. We have attempted to be as accurate as possible and to give credit where credit is due. If we have missed presenting the correct information or proper credits please contact us at etimes@teleport.com. We will post the corrections on our website: www. marijuanaingardenofeden.com and update this publication with more correct information at some later time.

TREATING DISEASES WITH MARIJUANA AND HEMP

This circular chart shows the identification and general relationship of marijuana and hemp molecules and their ability to treat diseases. There exists about 70 or more distinct cannabiniod molecules in marijuana and hemp plants. These molecules are referred to as phytocannabinoids. There are 2 general classifications of phytocannabinoid molecules: THC, or tetrahydrocannabinoids, and CBD or cannabinoids Phyto means plant like. THC is the main psychoactive component in marijuana. THC molecules reduces pain perception in the brain and are also neuroprotective. CBD is the dominant cannibnoid molecule is much less psychoactive but generally effective in relieving convulsions or seizures, anxiety, nausea, inflammations, cancer, liver, MS and other diseases. Different combinations of THC and CBD molecules are able to better treat specific diseases. Plant breeders will able to develop marijuana or hemp plants that give more desired cannabinoid combinations to treat these specific diseases. Some of the molecules shown on the circular chart include: THCA, TetraHydroCannabinol Acid: a stimulant and muscle relaxer. THCV, TetraHydroCannabivarian: useful in treating metabolic disorders like diabetes. CBC, Cannabichomene: pain suppressant. CBDV, Cannabidivarin: cancer and pain suppressant. CBG, Cannabigerol: a sedative and anti inflammatory agent. CBN, Cannabinol: mild psychoactive agent., CBVD, Cannabivarin: also cancer and pain suppressant. These different cannabis molecules and many more not shown on this chart are being discovered allowing better treatment of diseases. For example: Charlotte’s Web, a strain of marijuana with very high CBD molecules was bred to treat certain forms of epilepsy. Most cannabis leaves and flowers, referred to as a whole plant, can be processed into an oil extract for treatment and applied with droplets under the tongue or swallowed as a capsule. One of the most amazing properties of CBD rich cannabis plants with a variety of CBD molecules are better able to treat diseases without the worry of side effects from overdosing. It has been observed that a specific strain bred to treat a certain disease has also been successful in treating other diseases do to the vastness of different cannabinoid molecules present. The vastly increasing experimentation and testing of cannabis drugs both organic and synthetic is presently taking place worldwide.
