About this ebook
Over 300 Years Of Black People In Blounts Creek, Beaufort County, North Carolina offer the reader, perhaps for the first time some insight about some of the Black Families in this area and their family structures from the late 1690's. Unintentionally, there may have been some families left out or some incomplete information on others; for this the author apologizes. Furthermore, is not the intent of the author to offend anyone if some information contain herein seems to be derogatory towards anyone.
Bunyon Keys
I was born on February 23, 1943, and was reared in Blounts Creek. I graduated from S. W. Snowden High School in 1961 and joined the United States Air Force. While stationed near Shreveport, Louisiana, I married the former Dorothy Florence in 1965. Dorothy and I returned to Blounts Creek in June 1989. When I was a boy, my Grandfather, Orlando Keys picture on the front cover(1886-1968), would tell me stories about our family history. It was these stories, perhaps more than anything else, that motivated me to write this book. I dedicate this book to him.
