About this ebook

Christians are not aware that they are great consumers of material goods due to the evil influence of Satan. They are very competitive, require status symbols, and are influenced by the media also. They are not aware of their behavior because the evil influence seeks to keep them blind to spiritual things, keeping one foot in the world and one in the church.

IS MATERIALISM IN THE BAPTIST CHURCH

    THE RESULT OF SPIRITUAL WARFARE

    By

    KARENE TAYLOR-THORNE

The abstract of my project seek to know if materialism in the Baptist Church is the result of Spiritual Warfare. Materialism is defined by Webster dictionary as putting too much emphasis on material goods such as clothing, cars, electronic devices and anything that brings much comfort, while not paying attention to spiritual or intellectual values. Is it the result of Spiritual Warfare or human greed? Spiritual Warfare is the leading of the evil force influencing people to do evil. There exist in this world two forces, good and bad. They are in opposition to each other. Human existence will endure attacks of evil in this world that is influenced by the bad force. After conversion they are to mature and reject their former lifestyle by showing love, truth, forgiveness, sexual purity and not being greedy. We do not fight against flesh and blood, but evil forces in high places. The problem is not with man or woman but with the one who controls the evil forces. Church will be led by the good or bad force. God or Satan.
