The Parrot who found a Pirate

Many years ago there was a parrot who lived on the island of Hispaniola in the Caribbean. Pablo the Parrot was four years old and covered in bright green feathers with a yellow patch on his head.

Pablo’s other friends were Harry the Hummingbird, Anand the Agouti and Becky the Blackbird.

Becky had finished eating her lunch of coconut water and balata. She was two years old and covered in shiny black feathers. Her parents always warned her not to fly to nearby islands and avoid speaking to hawks and eagles. Becky was also advised not to fly near ships belonging to pirates. He soon found two bananas and washed them in a nearby river.

Whilst peeling the bananas Anand heard part of the conversation between Becky and Pablo.

Anand joined the conversation. Good morning Pablo and Becky. Fine day it is!

Pablo responded, Yes, there is no sign of rain today.

    Good morning Anand, said Becky.

So what am I hearing about you searching for a pirate? asked Anand.

Pablo laughed. Did you hear us during your sleep? Yes, I’m looking for a buccaneer or pirate who is involved in exciting adventures.

Anand smiled. "That’s odd because I usually hear it’s the other way around- most buccaneers and pirates search for
