About this ebook

Soaring is full of emotion, stillness and beauty. From fun child-centered poems to sadness, grieving and topics about the world, this book will take you anywhere you want to go. Jeanne writes through her pain and moods of all kinds and encompasses the awareness and the wholeness that remain. It is her vision of the world and is all about her life and experiences and how she takes all the knowledge and filters it through poem after poem. She lets go of the negativity and writes for anyone who needs to feel consolation, gratitude, love or release, ending up with positivity and hope.

Jeanne Fiedler

Jeanne has always liked poetry, as far back as she can remember. She fell in love with it in the sixth grade, when she was introduced to Emily Dickinson and Walt Whitman. She believes writing can heal in the space where the artist and divinity meet. She has taught ELL to both adults and children, tutored young children in Language Arts, and wrote grants for a social service agency that brought art into the lives of disenfranchised populations. She has a B.A. degree in Sociology/Social Work with an endorsement to teach preschool. She plans to use creative writing to expand children’s imaginations, as well as heal any special needs. She’s taking Transformative Language Arts courses from Goddard College, where she will learn consciousness raising and healing through poetry and journaling. She also plans to obtain a professional certificate in creative writing from NYU in the fall. She has been published in Ararat Magazine, Open Minds Quarterly, Transcendent Visions, S.P. Quill Magazine, Soul Fountain, FreeXpression, Capper’s, Can-Opener, Midwest Literary Magazine, Whispers, Expressions, Living Poets, I Love Cats, Above Ground Testing, Plath Profiles IV, and Bipolar Magazine. She loves photography, jewelry designing, fabric designing, playing the blues harmonica, and glass etching. She plans to teach preschool in the fall.

    Dandelion

    The three horses gallop wildly

    Through the splashing muddy water.

They ask, "Is it over yet?

    Because, the dandelions are weeds.

However, they are still life and deserve

To be treated kindly, delicately, and

    Respectively.—I think I’ll plant some

    Yellow tulips and some goldenrod

    Next to them."

    The yellow blasts into a

    Sparkling arena . . .

    Jesus speaks: Be still.

    Encompass the blessed ones

    Safeguard the poor.

    We can only be rich

    By saving the poor.

    Water the melting dandelions

    Plant their seeds . . .

    Let them grow

Let us stand beside them and their

Integrity and sustain each other as

    One common planting ground.

    White Tiger

    I am a witch

    My coven is the depths

    Of the green forest

My familiar is a White Tiger

    I’m a white witch

I put a spell on all mankind

    To save the tigers . . .

    They’re beautiful . . .

    Pure white

    With noses like

    Pink roses . . .

    And eyes blue

    As the devastating

    Sky stretching

    Across our earth . . .

    Envision their

    Prancing strength

    Their furry poise

    Their quiet balance

    The happiness of their image!

    They belong with us . . .

    Heart And Soul

    I want to tell you

    That even though it doesn’t

    Always seem it

    I love and respect you
