Nick Mezins

Nick was born in the city of Riga, Latvia in 1936. Hr spent his childhood during the war years and immediately following the war in Latvia and in Germany. He came to the United States in 1950 and started High School. Nick graduated from Theodore Roosevelt High School in the Bronx, New York. He earned his BS Electrical Engineering from the City College of New York in 1959, receiving a commission in the Regular Army. After more than eleven years on active duty, including three years in Vietnam, he returned to civilian life. While working for a coal mining company he attended the University of Pittsburgh and earned an MS degree in Engineering in 1973. Shortly thereafter the Los Alamos Scientific Laboratory* in Los Alamos, New Mexico hired him as an engineer. Nick is currently retired from the Los Alamos National Laboratory*, and is a licensed Professional Engineer, and is also retired from the United States Army Reserve as a Lieutenant Colonel of Engineers. Nick grew up with the Tidings, was frequently present during the conversations and, in later years, assisted with some of the transcribing. While he always took the Tidings for granted, he never had any particular interest in them. Since his retirement from the Army Reserve he had an occasion to look up something that he vaguely seemed to remember from his childhood. This led Nick to go back and start reading the entire Tidings. Having read them several time he is now convinced that it is essential for humanity to be made aware of the Tidings and to make them available. Therefore he started translating these communications into English like Alexander Homics had done, but had not been able to finish publishing, and had his updated version published under the title REVELATIONS by Trafford Publishing in 2000. The six0volume series - The Tidings - is a follow-up to REVELATIONS and expands, explains, and elaborates on what it contains. He is thoroughly convinced that the materials in The Tidings can and will make many people better individuals and better citizens, if only they would read and ponder the material.... *The name of the Laboratory was changed while Nick worked there.

    FOREWORD

The material in this book came through human vehicles, but is not of human origin. It started in mid-1943 in Latvia, one of the three Baltic countries that regained their independence from the Soviet Union when it broke up in 1991 after its long stranglehold on those countries since World War II. Two women had gotten together and tried to communicate with spirits in the days of uncertainty in the midst of World War II. One of them was Mary, the mother of the translator of this book, Nick Mezins.

What eventually started coming through was a series of communications from entities who gave their names and identified themselves as spirits that are behind the workings of the Universe, including the planet Earth, and the development of matter and the spiritual nature of humankind.

As things progressed, Mary invited others to join. Some did, and then left for personal reasons, while others stayed to become the core group: Mary and her husband Janoss (initially referred to as John M.), Alexander Upenieks (who soon became the leader of the group), and my father, Alexander Homics, (Alexo, who initially was referred to as Alexander H.). Mary and Alexo were the two individuals who each could, jointly with Alexander, establish communication with the spirits. (During some of the longer communications, Mary and Alexo alternated back and forth, and short intermissions were given for this purpose.) Alexo came to be the main transcriber for the group, typing up the handwritten material after each session and distributing it to the group members.

In late summer of 1944, when the Russians began to gain the upper hand over the Germans in Latvia, the members of the group at different times fled from Latvia and went to Germany, where they fortunately settled in what was to become the American Zone, and resumed their sessions. Later, several years after World War II was finally over, the members immigrated at different times to the United States, settling in New York. There, starting in 1950, they resumed their sessions. The last session was in January of 1971.

When my father retired in the late 1970s, he translated virtually all of the material into English. He had organized it into ten volumes, plus two separate volumes that consisted of material in a fictionalized form. Sadly, he succeeded in publishing only the first two volumes before his death in 1982¹.

In 1992 Nick Mezins – the son of Mary and Janoss Mezins – published REVELATIONS: Extracts From the Book of Tidings of The Almighty and His Spirits to Humanity (Winston-Derek, 1992), which highlighted excerpts from the message material 1943 - 1970; it was re-issued in 2000 by Trafford Publishers under the title REVELATIONS: Extracts From the Book of Tidings of The Almighty and His Spirits to Humanity 1943 - 1970.

Now Nick Mezins is publishing the messages/tidings in greater fullness, not just highlights. In 2005 THE TIDINGS, Volume One: Further Extracts from The Book of Tidings of The Almighty and His Spirits to Humanity came out, covering November 1943 to January 1945. In 2010 came THE TIDINGS Volume Two: Further Extracts from The Book of Tidings of The Almighty and His Spirits to Humanity covering January 1945 to January 1946. Then in 2014 was published The Tidings, Volume Three: Further Extracts from the Book of Tidings of The Almighty and His Spirits to Humanity covering February 1946 to June 1949. This year was published The Tidings, Volume Four: Further Extracts from the Book of Tidings of The Almighty and His spirits to Humanity covering June 1951 to December 1956. At present Nick is finalizing Volume Five of The Tidings, covering January 1957 to March 1964, and is expected to be published sometime in 2016. After that the final volume of the six-part series, Volume Six, will be finalized and published, covering mid-1964 to 1971.

As can be seen from the titles of the volumes cited, there are the usual problems of translating from one language to another while trying to retain the original meaning. For example, my father chose to use the word messages as opposed to Nick Mezins translating the same word as tidings, (which could also have been translated as communications). Another example: my father used the word messengers, and Nick prefers the word heralds. I myself like the word envoys. But the important thing is to make the material and the concept therein, available to all seekers on the Path to truth, and so it is encouraging to see this voluminous material still being worked on and put out further to the public.

    INTRODUCTION TO REVELATIONS

The material in this book is not of human origin. It has not been thought of by a human mind. The material in this book originated from The Almighty, from God, from the chief spirits and the spirits. It has been passed on to humanity on the planet Earth by the chief spirits and by the spirits. It has been passed on through The Almighty’s heralds to the planet Earth, who, outwardly, were ordinary human beings.

Initially, the heralds wrote down this material in longhand. Afterwards it was typed, and several copies were made. Care was taken to see that no accidental alterations were made. The original and the typed version were compared carefully. Some errors in grammar were found and corrected, and it was agreed that the corrections did not alter the meanings of the phrases or the sentences. In each case, the heralds concurred that the correction did not alter the meaning of the material.

The chief spirits and the spirits passed the material down, through the heralds, in a language other than English. My involvement is limited to translating it into English. I have taken great pains to translate the material so as not to alter its original meaning. At times, I have sacrificed the quality of English, or its proper usage, in order to avoid possibly altering its original meaning.

Some explanations are in order to assure a full understanding of the authenticity of the material. Unless otherwise indicated, the contents of this book came from the chief spirits and the spirits. For the sake of clarity, some questions and statements by the heralds have been included. These have been enclosed in double brackets ([[]]). All material enclosed in double brackets is of human origin, such as questions posed by the heralds, reading of material from the Bible, and so on. In addition, at times, I have inserted a word, or words, not in the original. These are enclosed in single brackets ([]) and were inserted due to the peculiarities of the two languages. Sometimes, English requires a word or phrase which is only implied in the original language.

Each tiding begins with a title line. This title line consists of the name of the spirit or chief spirit talking, the date of the conversation, and, generally, the starting time of the conversation. These are not part of the tiding itself and should have been enclosed in the double brackets, except for appearance. The ending time of the conversation, when given, is enclosed.

Since this book is a book of extracts from The Book of Tidings, not everything is included in it. To denote whenever something has been omitted, the triple asterisk (- * * * -) symbol has been used. This symbol, when used within a paragraph, indicates that part of the paragraph has been omitted. When used in a line by itself, it indicates that an entire paragraph has been omitted. This symbol is not repeated whenever more than one paragraph may have been omitted.

In reading this book, both the brackets and the triple asterisk symbols should be disregarded. They become important only when questioning the exact meaning of a phrase, sentence, or paragraph. Then they indicate that, if the question is of sufficient importance, one should go back to the original language and satisfy oneself as to the exact meaning of the original.

A few words follow, regarding the use of the word man. It has more than one connotation in English. Generally, in this book, the word man is intended to mean a human, the singular of the word people, rather than the male of the human species. Man is used synonymously with human, individual, and person. In those cases where it does indicate gender, the text makes it evident. The plural men, however, is used only when gender is indicated, otherwise people or similar words are used. The expression man on Earth should denote what this is all about.

Thank you very much for putting up with these technical explanations. They are superfluous for most readers, but may be important to a few; therefore they have been included.

    INTRODUCTION

The volume REVELATIONS: Extracts From The Book of Tidings of The Almighty and His Spirits to Humanity, (originally published in 1992 by Winston-Derek Publishers, and now available in the revised edition published in 2000 from Trafford Publishing), contains what I consider to be highlights from the extensive material received by a small group of people during World War II and which continue to 1971. In it are included only those conversations which reveal something new or else, in a few cases, conversations which present rather concise and explicit summaries of the material.

It would be helpful, but not essential, to first read REVELATIONS. It gives the reader an overall idea about The Almighty’s teachings, which were received from 1943 to 1970, and a general understanding of, and appreciation for what they are all about. In his earlier translation, Alexander Homics included material that I chose not to include – strictly a personal judgment. I have to say that REVELATIONS is so concentrated that it is not all that easy to read, but it does contain the most important messages/tidings. We also differed in some terminology. For example, he used the word messages and I prefer tidings; he used the term messengers and I prefer heralds.

I have organized the bulk of the material which comprises The Book of Tidings of The Almighty and His Spirits to Humanity as much as possible according to directions given in the Tidings themselves:

On April 13, 1944 Ilgya said in part,

"…systemize all conversations with the spirits into three books. Everything that refers to the faith has to be collected into the first one. Into the second – advice for life, how to bring up the spirit and the body, how to raise children, and so on; as well as those stories which have an everyday significance. Collect into the third book everything that pertains to you and the accomplishment of your work."

In The Tidings series are included what I feel are what Ilgya calls Books One and Two. In a few cases, brief passages which probably belong in Book Three have been retained, primarily for the sake of continuity in the case of a particular conversation. Material that appeared in REVELATIONS is given here in its fuller context and is marked by arrows at the beginning and end. In order to facilitate locating a particular conversation, the Table of Contents lists, in chronological order, each spirit whose tiding is included in that chapter and shows whether there was more than one tiding.

The fuller context in this volume includes explanations and clarifications, stories which illustrate some of the concepts, and, sometimes, related ideas that are of importance. There are also descriptions of interesting events on the planet Earth as well as on a few other planets, some of which are related to specific heralds.

The present volume – Volume Five – covers most of the period of 1957 through 1964. Volume Six, the last one, will cover the remaining period of time, 1965 through 1971, and will be available soon.

    Chapter I

    Winter - Spring 1957

    Santorino          01/26/57 2200

Ego Santorino. I congratulate you, heralds, with the New Year, which will bring the Earth much that is new – good as well as bad.

→Several years have passed since the beginning of The Almighty’s Tidings. Despite the passage of years, you still have not received The Almighty’s permission to make them known to the people. That has seemed incomprehensible to you, for you thought that specifically at this fateful time of confusion the Tidings would be essential but that is not the case. Quite the contrary, they would come in the wrong place and at the wrong time.

You ask why. Because, a struggle is currently taking place against communism, which does not acknowledge anything divine. Everybody who believes in God is currently needed in a single union against godlessness. No matter what these faiths might be like, or how close they might be to the pure religion of Christ, or other religions, they nevertheless struggle against the godlessness of communism. All doubts about their correctness, or their criticism and the introduction of a new faith, would weaken their front and would strengthen communism. Only after the destruction of communism, and the aversion of its dangers, can the right time begin for the Tidings and for their positive role.

The new religion, given in The Almighty’s Tidings, brings completely new notions about God and The Almighty. The old religions, which were founded on humanity’s understanding like it was in the ancient times and the Middle Ages, used rulers as a model for God and imagined God as a king who demands worship and slavish servitude. The old God created Earth and the universe in one week and then rested. The new God created the universe over innumerable years and has not rested for one moment, because the creation of the universe has begun just a few moments ago and will continue for uncountable years to come.

Man had erred. Even scientists claimed that the process of creation had ended. Only recently have some of them reached the conclusion that the process of creation continues in the universe – that new stars are born, new worlds form, and that God continues the work of creation.

God does not ask for and does not want prayers and songs of praise. He asks for work, and only for work. Christ said that God knows what man desires, without any prayers, and therefore they are superfluous. Should man feel more confident, having expressed his sorrows or desires in words, God does not take offense. However, man must express his desires in few words.

As you have been told before, God is not a king who sits on a throne and listens to songs of praise. God is the creator. God is an engineer, painter, chemist, poet, mathematician, sculptor, physicist, and even, should the need arise, a ditch-digger. He does not need glorifiers and worshipers, but helpers and executors of His tasks and will. He demands work from man, work, and once again – work. God has to be worshiped with deeds, not with words. Yet work cannot continue all the time, without rest. At times of rest man may turn to God. He may discuss God’s tasks and talk them over with his neighbors and fellow workers, thus finding new opportunities for continued execution of God’s tasks.

The Almighty strives to create an ideal universe and ideal living beings, particularly the being which is called man. This work, as you already know from previous tidings, is difficult work, and requires man’s participation.

The souls, which are tiny parts of The Almighty’s spirit, can acquire an individuality, an independence, so that they can approach The Almighty’s almightiness. At the same time they can, in a feeble struggle against the power of matter, lose some, or even all, characteristics of The Almighty’s spirit, and can become inferior and disappear into nonexistence.

This new faith completely shatters the religions currently existing on Earth. Therefore this religion must bide its time.

    Aksanto          04/21/57 2237

Aksanto is speaking. Heralds, on behalf of all the spirits, and particularly those spirits who are close to you in Heaven and were intimate to you on Earth, I wish you a beautiful and happy festival – the Easter Festival.

Today the entire Christian world remembers the resurrection of Christ, the greatest Prophet on Earth. Christ paid with His life for proclaiming the truth, because only those people are capable of enduring the truth who are truthful themselves, and who are capable of living according to their conscience and the laws of Heaven.

It seems that Christ’s victory was not final, that while accepting it externally, internally humanity remained under the power of the same old lies. Christ, however, did not come to save everyone, He came to save only the few, and those who had and have the soul of eternity. He came to give a goal to humanity, to explain humanity’s value to it, and to point out its errors and sins. He left it up to each individual’s choice to either retain God’s eternity or to become a slave to the caprices of Earth.

There are few who have been chosen and are worthy to enter the Kingdom of Heaven, He said.

Truly, I am telling you, only a few out of a million will enter the Kingdom of Heaven, but for those who will not enter – it will be their own fault. Christ gave the key to the Kingdom of Heaven to everyone. Yet man himself is at fault if the key that he was given, now can unlock only the gate of hell, if he has allowed this key to rust, and if he has not kept it in [a place of] honor – a dry place on the table – but has allowed it to fall into the mud.

It is a good thing to pray to God and to go to church, but I remind you once again that nothing and no one will save your soul if you will fail to follow what Christ has said unambiguously. Words cannot replace deeds!

    Good night, heralds. Aksanto. [[2256]]

    Ignacio          05/05/57 2159

I bring you greetings from those who were with you and who are now with us, from those who have returned to the realm of eternity. While living on Earth, you forget that you are only short-term visitors there and that you have gone there only to carry out some temporary task. You accumulate what belongs to Earth and what you cannot bring along with you when you leave Earth. You can accumulate millions in money, you can build mansions for yourselves, you can hire and pay thousands of people, and you can make your words the law for millions, but once you leave Earth you cannot take along with you even [one speck of] dust from your mountain of jewels.

The only thing about yourselves that you can leave behind on Earth is a memory of you and your deeds. Yet this memory, too, remains with the people on Earth. What can you take along with you to Heaven – to eternity? Only an awareness about the work that you have accomplished; only an accounting of what you have accomplished and what you have not accomplished.

What sometimes seemed to you on Earth to be extremely important, may seem entirely worthless to you here, in front of The Almighty’s face. What seemed completely worthless to you on Earth can turn into pure gold here. While living on Earth you have to take into account the material needs of Earth, yet while taking them into account, you have to live for Heaven, but not for Earth. Not only do you have to try to preserve on Earth what Heaven gave you to take along, but you also have to try to pass it along to other people as well.

There are many people, all of whom have come with an assignment from Heaven, but how many of them will return to Heaven? That is a question which no human being may forget for even one moment. How will the soul feel which, having come to the gate of Heaven, will find it solidly locked for it, but open for others? How will the souls feel that will hear The Almighty’s voice, Let those [spirits] who have forgotten that they have been created from My spirit return to nonexistence, from where I have summoned them.

Alexandra heard this voice of The Almighty, but the words were different. They were, You carried out My assignment, you gave a herald to the Earth. You cared for him, you protected him and brought him up, you kept him from [straying on] the wrong paths, and you held him in your arms at times of sickness. You did not ask anything from him for a mother’s incompensable work, but you gave him love, which does not remain on Earth but comes along to Heaven.

Alexandra came to Heaven with this love, and it became eternal for her. Today, for a brief moment, the voice of this love summoned her back to Earth. Those whom such voices of love summon back to Earth are happy in Heaven, and the more voices like that there are the happier are those who are summoned.

I come to you for the first and the last time in order to pass this tiding on to you.       [[2230]]

    Ilgya          05/19/57 2228

Ilgya. Heralds, it is good to see that you do not forget art, and do not forget to occasionally go to see and to listen to what the human spirit has created. What the human spirit creates is not always art. Quite often that which man calls art does not move the spirit, but rather the desires of the flesh. Obviously, that can also be called art, but not spiritual art. Today’s youth, particularly in America, seeks delight in art that elicits excitement of the flesh, and that goes hand-in-hand with lust. That is understandable. Lust belongs to the flesh, and it would be foolish to reject it, but since everything that exceeds the limits of necessity becomes harmful, devoting oneself to the unlimited power of lust is a destruction of the spirit. The spirit has to counterbalance the desires of the flesh, if he does not want to become a slave of the flesh. It is difficult to always overcome the demands of flesh, but one has to try to control them. As in any fight, victories fluctuate, but if one side constantly wins, or too frequently, the other side has no hope of [achieving a balance].

Currently, someone in your city tries to summon people back to God. He is doing good work – trying to do that, and traveling the old roads of the church. Since they are erroneous, success can only be temporary, because praying to God remains but the deeds soon start falling by the wayside; and deeds are the only thing that God asks for. A flood of words, just like a flood caused by the rain, destroys more than it saves.

I advise you to some day go and listen to this person, in order to understand what pathways he travels.

With respect to the events in the world, they are more of an internal nature than external. Changes take place, but they are not expressed externally. The new inventions of science are of such a nature that man himself becomes scared of them.

That will suffice for today. Good night! Ilgya. [[2250]]

    Aksanto          05/26/57 2227

Aksanto. Heralds, I came to you for a few minutes in order to say a few words. Like in every individual’s life, thus also in the life of nations, there are days and years that have no significance in shaping their fate, and there are days and hours that are so significant that a decision made during them decides the destiny of the individual as well as that of the nation. Frequently, what has been missed in a brief moment cannot be rectified by anything. Life is a complicated matter; it is difficult to comprehend it and it is even more difficult to direct it.

For example, let us consider freedom, and the word – freedom. The constitution says that every citizen has been given the freedom to express his thoughts. This means that every person can speak and express his thoughts about a scoundrel as well as about the President. There is not and may not be any difference and any restrictions, because otherwise there would no longer be any freedom. The only difference is that in addition to freedom there is also legality, which provides that every individual has the right to demand the protection of the law if he is being accused falsely and unjustly. A scoundrel loses this right because he cannot prove that he is not a scoundrel, but the President can – if he is not a scoundrel. That, you see, is the difference between a lack of freedom and freedom. Everyone does not always like freedom, but it nevertheless is better than a lack of freedom, which only a few people like – those who are in power.

The problem is that you, people, want to have freedom only for yourselves, but not for others. You become concerned if someone calls someone else a scoundrel, but do not get concerned if you, yourselves, call this accuser a scoundrel. There is nothing here about which to be concerned – whoever falsely accuses an honest individual, loses more than the accused, if that takes place in a free country. Only in totalitarian countries is the ruler beyond accusation and untouchable, even though he is the worst villain. In a free country a person has been given the right to attack as well as to defend himself.

    I conclude. Aksanto.       [[2250]]

    Ilgya          06/09/57 2209

Ilgya. Heralds, I advised you to go and listen to how a popular preacher speaks. I did not do that because I thought that you might gain something positive, but simply so that you would familiarize yourselves with how people try to exploit the Bible for God’s and particularly for their own purposes.

Christ taught so simply and so comprehensibly that in reality no dogma is needed to explain His words. Christ did not seek special premises and circumstances for talking to the people. He spoke wherever there were listeners – on a mountain, next to a well, and by the door of a house. Everyone came and listened to His words. Whoever arrived first sat down on the ground closer to Christ’s feet. He did not turn anyone away and did not indicate the place where someone should sit. He did not tell anyone that he should pray to God for ten minutes, or fifteen minutes a day. Quite the contrary, He said that one should pray to God only if he feels that to be necessary, if he finds it necessary to turn to God for help in despair, even though he knows that God knows everything on His own.

A son thus turns to his father with a request, even though his father knows what his son wants, but the father does not hurry or does not find it necessary to help his son. In this case the son tries to influence his father, and explain to him his need and its importance and urgency.

How can someone, though, say that one should pray to God for fifteen minutes each day – why not fourteen, why not sixteen, and why not five, or sixty minutes?

God has not considered prayer, particularly public prayer, as being essential for man, because He knows on His own what man wants. He knows whether what man wants is essential and necessary for him, or else is unnecessary for man and can only harm his soul and God’s goals.

Yet God does not prohibit man to pray to Him even in public, in a crowd, and in front of a crowd. He merely says that a prayer like that is futile, that the one who prays receives his reward for it from the crowd, rather than from God. If someone wants to receive a reward or regard from the crowd, he may do this, but he should not await in vain for God’s regard, and should not consider this to be serving God. God does listen to words, but requires deeds from man, which will justify the words and which will give value to the words, because a word that is not substantiated by deeds is an empty beating of drums. The world is full of such beaters of a drum, but their worth is zero.

Someone who stands on a pulpit and asks people to go and take care of the sick, while receiving recompense in one manner or another for this asking, is not a servant of God; rather someone who goes and takes care of theses sick ones, while asking others to join him.

You, people, do much that no one needs but that nevertheless gives you some pleasure. Yes, you may do that, that is not a sin if it does not harm anyone and if you cannot utilize your time better. You may also pray to God the whole day long, that will not be a sin. However, if while praying to God you will not do anything else on your own, and someone else or others will have to feed you and provide you with all your other needs, then not only will your prayer not be noted but it will be recorded in the book of your sins.

    Good night, heralds. Ilgya. [[2245]]

    Ilgya          06/30/57 2211

Ilgya. In order for two people to get along, it is necessary that both of them understand each other. If only one person tries to understand the other, but the other one does not try to do that, then it is not possible to get along. Currently we see that happening with respect to man and God. God has announced to man, through Christ, who He is and what He wants from man. Man wrote down God’s words and His will in a book – the Gospel – which man called sacred, and placed it on a table on the altar in church. But does man do what is said in this book, which proclaims God’s will?

Man not only fails to try to comprehend God’s will and follow it, but he does the exact opposite. God asked man to travel straight roads, to love and to help each other. He said that man should not seek Paradise only in Heaven, but that it will be right here on Earth – if man will follow God’s words. Man has to create this Paradise himself. If man will fail to do anything, he will not have it either in Heaven or on Earth. Paradise has existed in and will exist in Heaven, hence it no longer has to be created there. It has to be created on Earth, and by man himself and with his deeds, but not by relying on God.

You constantly say, Let’s go pray to God.

For what, though? If you have to build a house, will you build it by going around and asking lords and neighbors to build it for you? First, they will ask you whether you are incapable of that on your own. If you will respond that you are capable but that it is too difficult [and you would rather] have the lords and neighbors do that – you will probably never see your house built. If you will start building your house, however, with your own efforts, the lords and neighbors will gladly come and help you, if they will see that it is too difficult for you by yourself. You will not even have to ask them, they will see this for themselves and will gladly come to help you.

Yet what do you and all kinds of preachers of God’s word do?

Let’s go pray to God, so that He would help us.

Instead of praying to God, you should start working on your own, creating your own Paradise. Then God will come and help you even without your prayers. Had you utilized the time that you spend in prayers, which God does not need and has even prohibited, for deeds, for good deeds, you would no longer have to pray to God. You should not build your realm on words, but on deeds.

    Good night, heralds. Ilgya. [[2240]]

    Chapter II

    Summer - Fall 1957

    Ilgya          07/07/57 2222

Ilgya is speaking. Heralds, your era, the period in which you have an opportunity to live, is truly historic. Any era can be called historic, except many historical events have little significance for humanity’s history. Your period is particularly important in several respects.

With respect to science, the air has been conquered during your era. The car has matured. The wireless telegraph, radio, and television have been invented. The movie has developed to such an extent that it can bring everything to the screen in a truly magic manner. Then comes the splitting of the atom, which can open entirely new opportunities of life to humanity.

In the political field, you have experienced two World Wars during your period. You have experienced the birth of communism and fascism, and the demise of the latter. Communism turned out to be stronger and currently even threatens the free world. However, even communism itself does not feel particularly secure and – as in any country with a dictatorship – all kinds of unexpected inadvertencies are possible. What is happening in the Soviet Union presently is very significant, therefore I advise you to carefully follow the events there.

    Good night, heralds. Ilgya. [[2238]]

    Ilgya          07/28/57 2235

Ilgya. Heralds, the days move onward. Life does not stand still, and even those who stand still, do not stand still, because the Earth carries them on, into an unknown universe.

The sky is full of stars. You saw them in your childhood, your fathers and grandfathers saw them in the same place, but the stars do not stand still. They have traveled billions of miles during this period. The Earth, too, is far from that location where you saw the stars for the first time.

Where does the world of the stars rush to, and the Earth along with it? the astronomers ask.

They have not yet found the answer to their question.

Humanity has traveled a long road. It has moved from the limb of a tree and a cave into skyscrapers. It has come from an idol god to a distant God in the distant Heaven, but from the slow movement on foot, humanity has gone to flying faster than the speed of sound. And still, humanity is almost as remote from God as it was during its cave era.

Man sees the stars and knows what they are. He sees that they rush through the space of the universe with tremendous speed, but only The Almighty knows why and where to.

Everything changes on Earth as well – either rapidly and visibly, or else slowly and invisible to the eye. What will the future bring humanity – happiness or misery? Both possibilities are feasible, and each of them depends on humanity itself, on each person individually. Every individual is responsible for humanity’s future – the one who works on its behalf as well as the one who fails to do anything. Every person will have to answer to The Almighty regarding humanity’s future.

         Ilgya.                              [[2254]]

    Ilgya          08/11/57 2210

Ilgya. Heralds, you had many visitors last Sunday. Obviously, that was not an ordinary event, because the spirits can visit the living, but the living can neither see them, nor hear them, nor establish contact in some other manner. It is a rare opportunity for the spirits, as well as for you, to communicate in a comprehensible manner. It is not possible for a spirit, who is thousands of years old and who has incarnated many times, to retain in memory all of the so-called important events. However, it is obviously pleasant for him to remember, along with the living, the recent events, particularly if The Almighty grants him this rare opportunity. Of course, it is difficult for you to visualize currently the life of your spirit, because it is erased from the human brain, rather – it has not been introduced into it at all.

The brain and the spirit are not the same thing. The brain is the spirit’s human tool, if one may say so. The brain helps the spirit to guide man and to mold him, but the brain does not always think what the spirit thinks, but rather what the human thinks. The brain directs an individual’s functioning, but it does not direct all the functions of the body; rather, does not direct them conscientiously. The human brain can permit a person to take in food and even to select it, but the person does not direct with his brain the main transformation of this food in his body. Neither does the spirit direct that.

Many functions of the brain occur without man’s direction and even without his knowledge. Several forces function in man, they function independently and create joint activity. Man’s spirit is a tiny part of The Almighty’s spirit, but this part is limited in its abilities. Man’s body is similarly limited in its abilities. Who then directs, in fact, the main functions of the brain and the body? The Almighty’s spirit, who has created the body as well as the spirit, directs them. As you can see, this combination is very complicated, it is difficult to comprehend it, and it is even more difficult to explain the wonderful cooperation of this combination.

It seems to man that he is the master of his body, but that is not the case. He cannot order his blood to flow in one blood vessel but not flow in another; or else to flow faster or slower. He cannot order a hair to grow or to fall out. Obviously, he can cut off his hair because he has invented scissors, but his hair continues to grow stubbornly and disobediently. That is what happens with a male’s beard. An individual would gladly order his beard not to grow, so that he would not have to shave it every day, but nothing comes of this desire.

You will claim that if man wants to he can destroy himself. But, you see, there are the words, If he wants to. Why does man want or not want? How does this desire arise in his brain, and how does it become an order? Are you able to answer this question? You can claim that the spirit – man’s spirit – has given the brain a command to think, but are you sure that the spirit has done that, or else has been able to do that? It seems that the matter is [not all that] simple, that man himself cannot want to be born and live, because his birth depends on the will of others – the will of his father and mother. Yet on what does this will of the father and mother depend? That is a question which only The Almighty can answer, because it is His will that creates these innumerable wills in the living world.

I started talking about last Sunday’s visitors, but strayed far from my subject. I will return to it. The spirits enjoy your remembrance, but it is not essential for them and they do not become at all offended should you occasionally forget them. Since these remembrances of what has occurred on Earth are more intimate for you, then obviously they seem more important to you as well.

With that, we will conclude for today. Good night, heralds. Ilgya.

    [[2255]]

    Ilgya          08/25/57 2230

Ilgya. Heralds, you had a guest last Sunday, and you spent the evening in memories of bygone times, of events that took place at one time, and many of them once were important. They are no longer important now, but they are nevertheless interesting, because the events in life constitute your life, make it interesting and worthwhile, or else the other way around. One thing is certain though – no matter what your life might have been like, eventually it passes unimaginably fast.

You have lived on Earth for some six decades, and a few of you even longer, but don’t the sixty minutes of an hour seem longer to you than these sixty years? What is the difference between a year and a minute? That seems easy for you to answer if you pick up [a piece of] paper and a pencil, and calculate how many minutes there are in a year. Therefore, you calculate the length of a year with the help of your watch. If your watch, however, were to indicate only one minute during the span of a year, then what difference would there be? You would simply call the year a minute, or else the minute a year, because time, in reality, does not exist as such. Eternity is not any longer than a minute.

You know that there are insects in the insect kingdom that spend several years in the ground as worms, and after that live as butterflies for only a few days or weeks. What do you think, does a butterfly know and remember anything about its long life as [a worm]? Doesn’t it consider its brief life as a butterfly to be its only life? In fact, they are entirely different beings according to their essence. The same thing holds true of man and his spirit, with the only exception that the spirit’s life is incomparably longer than the life of his body. Eternity is not all that long either. Heralds, it seems shorter than your life on Earth – if they could be compared at all. The life of a spirit proceeds incomparably faster than man’s life, because a minute on a clock in Heaven is longer than a million years. That proves to you once more that everything in the world is relative.

    Good night, heralds. Ilgya. [[2252]]

    Ilgya          09/01/57 2230

Ilgya. Heralds, much that is important and new has happened on your old Earth. Everything has not yet been publicized, as well as fully developed, but the destiny of humanity is bound with your days. You were born, in fact, in an entirely different world, which has little in common with today’s world. Science has opened the door to a new world for humanity, but this world can become either a paradise or a hell. The outcome will depend on how humanity will utilize these achievements.

Many inventions encompass in themselves two possibilities – good and evil. Thus the car has given humanity many good advantages, but it has also become humanity’s worst murderer. The process of splitting atoms opens unimaginable possibilities for humanity, but simultaneously with that also unimaginable dangers. If humanity wants to exist and become happy, it has to unite and forget
