About this ebook

The books of Samuel contain more than biographical and historical interest. The central theme of the books traces Gods gracious and overruling sovereignty in the sad state of affairs in Israel at the end of the period of judges by His providential selection of righteous men (i.e., Samuel and David) who would weld the nation into an instrument of His will and a people for Himself. Despite Israels rejection of God as King, God would prove faithful and eventually see to the appointment of a godly king, David, with whom He would enter into an everlasting covenant that would affect the destiny of both Israel and the entire world, for through David would come Israels King, Messiah, and the Savior of the world, the Lord Jesus Christ.

Pastor Ramona Brown

Ramona Brown presently resides in Aurora, Colorado. She is the wife of Pastor Lewis F. Brown Sr., celebrating 40 years of marriage, and is the mother of two adult children and three grandchildren. She has enjoyed over 35 years of outreach ministry in prisons, nursing homes and ministry to those who are brokenhearted. Pastor Ramona has served alongside her husband, Lewis, in various capacities of ministry and is now the Executive Pastor at New Beginnings Cathedral of Worship in Aurora, CO. Ramona attended Bible College at the Marilyn Hickey School of Ministry, CH Mason Bible College, and more recently graduated from the Minnesota Graduate School of Theology with a Doctor’s Degree in Biblical Studies and Theology. She also has a Master’s Degree in Pastoral Care. Ramona has a divine mandate on her life for prayer and has been called a pioneer in looking for ways to break new ground through the power of prayer and intercession. She is very effective in teaching, training, and raising up prayer warriors to usher in the end time revival and harvest of souls. She firmly believes that prayer is not a religious form with no power, but is intended to be an effective and strategic warfare that brings heaven’s results in the earth. She is the Founder and Executive Director of the Push Network (Pray Until Something Happens) where an army of intercessors are covering the nation and the world with prayer. In addition to these accomplishments, she currently is the Vice President of the Cathedral Theological School of Ministry. This is a satellite accredited Bible College to the Minnesota Graduate School of Theology. Ramona also is Vice President to the New Beginnings Community Development Corporation, which is an organization with the mission to rebuild underprivileged communities by providing resources that positively influence the individual’s advancement in all aspects of life.

    BACKGROUND

    History

The 1st and 2nd books of Samuel, found in the Old Testament, were written by Samuel, David, Nathan, and Gad between 1204-1035 B.C. in Palestine, and was finally made one book by Isaiah the prophet circa 743-683 (see 1 Chronicles 29:29). The books of Samuel were originally one book in the Hebrew Canon. The single volume of Samuel was divided into two volumes by the translators of the Greek Old Testament (the Septuagint) who viewed the books of Samuel and Kings together
