    CHAPTER 1—PLANNING TO LAUNCH

    Leaving home and on your own conjure up different feelings for everyone. Wrapped up in these emotions are a mix of excitement, anticipation, independence, and fear. Now that you are ready to take on your new life, it is time for thought, preparation and planning. A great deal of comfort and ease, as well as financial savings and stability will be achieved with a bit of smart preparation. Of course, you will meet bumps along the way. Everyone does but this guide is intended to clear some of the path to the life you wish to create.

    THE LAUNCH

    Your launch will start with most likely two significant occurrences; a job and your first move. At this stage in your life, leaving home and moving on your own is often appropriate for your job and/or your independence.

    Here are a few scenarios you may be facing;

    1.    You are hired for a job, but it’s a distance and requires a move

    2.    You do not have a job, but wish to make a distance move

    3.    Your job is in your area, but you wish to move to a new living place

    YOUR CAREER STARTS WITH A JOB

    A job is critical for every college graduate. Everywhere you work will render short-term and long-term influence on pursuing your career. You will most likely have a series of jobs over a long period of time that define and hone your career. Through this process, you hopefully seek a satisfying balance that incorporates your aptitude, abilities, skills and passion. It must also afford you the ability to pay bills and provide the life you aspire to.

    KEEP LEARNING

    You may feel like you are done with school, but guess what? Your career path will require you to continue to
