This Science Fiction story is the first effort of a self taught sixty year old High School graduate born in the Ozark Hills of Southern Missouri. (Included is a description of the Phoenix UFO mentioned on an ABC Peter Jennings UFO News Special.)

Dr. Warpenstein is based on my beliefs that there are at least two predominantly competing forces in a today world that demand a reasoned evolution from sciences nano technologies, artificial intelligence and genetic engineering . . . One is terrorism, which is, sadly, too often attached to the great values expressed in religions. Conversely, revolutionary advances coming from great minds of science that could catapult society into a new age of miracles and change . . . We already know what the past holds.

Consider this: At present, it may take only one individual, or a few, to carry a weapon of mass destruction into a modern city and destroy it. Conversely, it may take only one individual, or a few great scientist, to suddenly discover a new revolution that saves the world from certain destruction.

I can see no reasonable alternative for preventing mankinds Jane Goodal-alpha-monkey jungle side of human nature from committing atrocious acts that could pull modern society back into a new age of darkness; accept by accelerating evolution (changing human nature) through the methods of science, and the mind. Modern society may have no choice but to improve the cognitive wiring, and reduce the aggression level, of all human beings on EARTH. The big question will become, how to accomplish it, SIMULTANEOUSLY.

In my story, Dr. Warpenstein attempts to accomplish this goal by OTHER MEANS. In the end, maybe some combination of methods will become necessitous.

I admit that the description to this story is written in a more serious frame than is the story. I merely wanted to express some more serious ideas, but then, I precede to present the story in a some what silly and playful mode of which Ive imagine would be more salable.

Here is a short synopsis of this story:

WARPENSTEIN: A low ranking ex-pilot flying missions for the super secret NSA (National Security Agency or popular misnomer NO SUCH AGENCY) is now a truck driver with a hitchhiker girl friend and her son caught up in the malign plans of some government black projects scientist named "Dr. Warpenstein" and his intellectual cohorts plotting to secure the worlds freedoms by exploiting advanced technologies to conduct an unauthorized FIRST STRIKE on its enemies.

By way of a fluke of events the characters are drawn into the stealthy web of Dr. Warpenstein. James Walker, his girl friend, and a belated friend from a UFO society become entangled with the doctor in a quest for revenge and enlightenment. What they discover are the sinister plans of the doctor and his group of scientists to change the world into some numen for peace EVERMORE. They have ideas that attract and hold the promise of an EVERLASTING peace. UTOPIA you say!

One of the doctors own intelligent android creations named FLAT SCREEN, designed to function within perimeters never to harm human beings, becomes a kind of Archimedes Heel to Dr. WARPENSTEINs plans.

Its a counterpoint between Classical Rachmaninoff and Classical Rock, romances and comedy, diabolic and malign; enormous ships called the BIG STAR and LITTLE STAR powered by a Warpenstein Field Drive that goes WARPA, WARPA, maybe with a silent "A. The large ships and intelligent androids covered by FLAT SCREEN and NANO technologies that disappear before your eyes. Hidden PANELS much like those over the headlights on a fancy car transform the superstructure from guardrails and windows, to a smooth VIDEO SCREEN surface. I was born in the Ozarks on the 8th of May 1945. I grew up on a farm and attended the last of the one room school house with a potbelly stove among thirty students, outside woodshed, outside restroom, and a dug drinking well. I graduated High School and some technical school over the years. In lieu of college, I moved to Salt Lake City, Utah in 1964 to work in my brother’s small grocery store. Later I worked twenty years as a heavy equipment operator and explosives technician in mining. Since, while driving long haul truck, I wrote DR. WARPENSTEIN.

DR. WARPENSTEIN is my first effort to create a story, and I typed it on my old Windows 95 Laptop while driving a long haul truck. It’s too long for an average movie script, and as a novice copy it may seem somewhat rustic. So, please, read it to the end before making a judgement.

I present this story in a kind of metamorphic form . . . somewhere between script and book. Maybe it could be made into two movies. Right! The film is meant to be a trilogy, anyway. I’ll probably need to pare it down some; but then, maybe not if it’s produced as a new computerized film (Example, movie FINAL FANTASY.)

It’s true that some of the elements of my story may sound a little familiar from other movies, but 95% is done my way, and the story is all mine. A few FIRST STRIKE stories like FAILSAFE, have been made before. But my FIRST STRIKE scenario is based on a new age of advanced technologies and terrorism. Furthermore, I wrote the original copy before 9-ll.

The story is meant to challenge the reader to take sides. I would hope, that a story of a real life Dr. Warpenstein, would turn out different . . . I’ll leave it hanging there. I’ll explain how this story naturally follows from my philosophy of science and society; then you can read how Dr. Warpenstein and his intellectual cohorts plan to catapult human evolution into a new age which is freed from its primitive beginnings, FOREVER!

I believe that the human race, with the animal in human nature, is real. Man has built this incredible modern world, and yet, physically and biologically has one foot in the cave. The human race has yet to reach a deferential point beyond which society could never be pulled back into a darkened age for a time.

However, let’s not fool ourselves by believing that the challenges for human survival are only this daunting; because threats coming from nano technologies and bioengineering are incredible even under conditions of mutually assured destruction . . . and the threats are coming from the East and the West. Imagine plans to reduce the population of the earth by billions. There is talk of the disappearance of leading bio-engineers of the world. The race is on for an ultimate solution and power. We must procure the genetic solution first or the outcome may become horrifically evolutionary. Scientist and great intellects must form a secret—or otherwise—alliance to control and remove their weaponizable creations from generals, politicians, terrorist, and/or, any other would be revolutionaries of a lesser predilection of mind.

In my story, Dr. Warpenstein attempts to accomplish this goal by other means. In the end, maybe some combination of methods will become necessitous.

The sciences created by Dr. WARPENSTEIN are based on my Truck Driver’s Case for A Unified Field Theory, called THE HYPOTHESIS OF SIMULTANEOUS REALITIES. I named it such because I felt that no one would take me seriously . . . just a layman philosophy and examples and ideas. I like some of my ideas, but I don’t take myself too serious without a formal education and mathematics. Nevertheless, I imagine that I have a new understanding of how the universe works. If I’m in anyway correct, then the universe is more incredible, and at the very edge of our imagination. That it can be understood by intelligence is evidence that it’s amenable to intelligent form, and that intelligence will become the more ordering of any disorder in that form . . . an interesting notion favoring agnosticism, pantheism (Einstein), and deism (Thomas Jefferson) (entropy and the ever expanding universe.)

SYNOPSIS: Something like Carl Sagan once said, Science is a kind of love of mine and closely relates to my views on the world. Here is a short synopsis of this story:

Like the OVERTURE in Gone With The Wind and using the classical piece by Rachmaninoff, I envision presenting a fantasia introducing the feature. This way the concert in the Play becomes subjugated to symbiotic music composed for the film. The fantasia is a fitting tribute to Rachmaninoff who, when no one else would, footed the first bill for Igor Ivanovitch Sikorshy’s dream to build a helicopter (other music could be used.)

I’m looking for a movie like no other in history (made possible by less expensive computer digitalizing.) A new kind of classical movie that one might watch some, then come back to finish. A movie that could grow with time.

Take a ride in a big truck. Then, take a ride in the Big Star with Dr. Warpenstein and his especially intelligent blue android named, Flat Screen. I believe that you will witness my own unique formula for Science Fiction story telling . . . one that I can continue to develop.

I titled my story Dr. Warpenstein because I wanted a kind of strange and memorable title . . . Try to forget it. The doctor has a Warpenstein Field Drive for his ships. He can travel in warped space. He, himself, may be thought of as somewhat warped. He ends up in a kind of warring state of mind. Nevertheless, he has ideas that attract and hold the promise of an ever lasting peace. Utopia, you say!

Once you have read my story I hope that you will E-mail a movie producer like Steven Spielberg or George Lucas and help me get it produced as a computer generated film (or other) in a shortened, or full length rewrite.

People have encouraged me to say more about myself that would interest you in reading this SCIENCE FICTION story. So I’ll include some information that I received from the venerable scientist and Lucasian Professor of Mathematics, Dr. S. W. Hawking.

Please, don’t fall out of your chair wondering how a High School graduate, driving a long haul truck, could garner the praise or attention of a great man like Stephen Hawking. It’s not quite like that.

One day while driving in my long haul truck, I decided to type up my ideas on how the universe works. Well, I pulled out my old Windows 95 Laptop and began to type. Seven pages later I pressed print to produce copies on my small Canon 80 printer. It worked really well in my truck off a small converter. My Truck Driver’s Case For A Unified Field Theory that I called The Hypothesis Of Simultaneous Realities rang so true that, I decided to mail it to Dr. Hawking.

But of course, the idea is just a layman philosophy and examples. Don’t get me wrong. I like some of my ideas, but I don’t take myself too serious without a formal education and mathematics . . . as I mention in my description of Dr. Warpenstein. Of course, I wish to believe that I have a new understand of how the universe works. And I have added to and revised my idea since I mailed it to the Doctor.

Nonetheless, I was understandably thrilled to receive a reply greater than a straight and really formal letter. His Personal Assistant and Secretary mailed to me a typed and signed letter on the University of Cambridge letter head stating that Dr. Hawking thanked me very much for writing to him. He hoped that I would understand that, because of his severe disability, he is unable to enter into correspondence on my work. However, he asked his Secretary (Sue Masey) to enclose some papers.

True, the papers may be previously printed copies designed to mail to a want-a-be theorist like myself. I don’t know. Still, they included personal history about growing up and attending school that sounded very encouraging and much like I grew up in the Ozarks. Ha! Ha! He sent to me a short description of some of his ideas. I loved it.

Dr. Hawking is such a remarkable human being of personal moral character and endurance and intelligence that it could make a man envious . . . in a good sense. I find his kind of character to be shared by many of the greatest minds that I admire like Albert Einstein, Carl Sagan, James Randy (The Great Randy), Mark Twain, Thomas Jefferson, and I have an eye on Brian Greene of String Theory, and The Elegant Universe fame.

Sure, this is just a few that come to mind. I believe that there are many more great individuals in the world today. It bothers me to think that I haven’t mentioned them all. So, I wave my magical Harry Potter wand to include them all on my list. They are THE FORCE that can transform life on earth for the better . . . and Earth’s primitive days will be over, FOREVERMORE.

I will keep the letter from Dr. Hawking in a safe place for the day when my simple laymen’s hypothesis is proven to point down a truck driver’s road in the right direction . . . probably, related String Theory.

Certainly, in my estimation, our three/four-dimensional world is perceived as solid-dimensional because of the juxtaposing of the time/space reference points. Once we can align the time/space points with the others it would become flat; looking three-dimensional, but having no mass. It can’t be destroyed by conventional means (pass through it), and it can travel at the speed
