    BIOGRAPHY

There are many factors collapsing America and most of us don’t even realize what they are. These writings are not necessarily intended to be comical with so many hilarious and ridiculous ideas happening in America and our Government, sometimes the amusement is so overwhelming, it just makes you fall down laughing or in some cases scream or just break out in tears. Some of the information was compiled through research, such as from our history. The Author always wanted to write a book about something but wasn’t sure where to start. He even wasn’t sure what the title would be. There was no rush to complete the book because many of his life experiences had not yet occurred. When the Author had time he would sit down and write his thoughts on paper. These thoughts in his mind are what he has seen from a young boy to a grown man, about how America has changed through the years of his life. Now that he has become older there may be more of a need to complete this book. He did not live through the Great Depression. However, he was told by his elders the conditions that they lived under during that time. The author was born during World War II. He was too young to experience the Axis of Evil during that time. The author grew up during a period of time after the war, when America became jubilant and prosperous. Life was slower back then; people were happy, content and cordial toward each other and respected each other’s property. The family didn’t even lock the doors before going to bed at night. Today it’s a different story you always lock your doors and most households have alarms, guns, and a dog that warns of an intruder. Why have Americans lost their respect for each other? Is it the fast pace of living or is it the expense of living? Everything we do is a rush, hurry up do this do that, it has to be done right now! America is running at hyper speed but spinning its wheels at the same time. We leap before we think. We would be much better off if we slow down a bit to regain our sanity.

The country has a severe debt problem and rising higher all the time, along with many Americans that are burden in debt more than they should be. As we look into the past, we should have learned a thing or two it seems that we have not. We are skeptical of what the future may hold, because of our enormous debt and the direction America is headed. How can we predict the future with any reasonable certainty? We can’t! All we can do is grab the bull by the horns and hang on till this madness ends. We Americans are living in a fantasy world. If we don’t slow this fantasy ride down we will undoubtedly…

    Collapse From Within.

The Author has witnessed amazing accomplishments by brave and dedicated people in his life time. Through the hard work of self-reliant individuals, he has seen a man walk on the Moon. He has seen amazing advancements in technology such as the computer. Just like in past generations Americans witnessed the first automobile and the first flight of an airplane. He has witnessed firsthand the amazing technology of saving one’s life.

As we move into future generations, people will witness even more amazing accomplishments.

Today in this fast pace world mothers, fathers and children all run off in different directions and the family hardly has time to spend with each other. That’s not good! In many cases mothers, fathers and the children don’t even eat dinner together. The evening meal is a good time for parents and children to enjoy quality time as a family. The Author when he was a young boy while growing up was told to be home at 6:00 P.M.; wash your hands, sit down for dinner and eat your vegetables. In today’s world there’s just not enough quality time spent together with family. Children are the product of their parents, they learn by example. How parents act, is how children will act. Parents, teach your children to be respectful and responsible. That brings up the point, that today there are just too many latch key kids and parents don’t keep track of what their children are into. Moms and Dads you better keep track of your children because, if you don’t teach them respect and responsibly at an early age, they could be influenced by outside peer pressure that you may not agree with. This only becomes more difficult to deal with as they become older. Make sure you know what your children are doing in school and what friends they run around with. Parents, spend some time with your children, get to know them, understand what their thinking, look for signs of anxiety, teach them and love them, be pro active…It’s your children’s future!

The Author wouldn’t change the years he experienced while growing up for anything. Although there were some times when he experienced a razor strap across his rear end, which brought him back in line. He had very loving parents that taught him discipline, hard work, responsibility and to be self reliant. As a young boy he was very fortunate that his parents loved him enough to experience quality time together and raise him in this manner. To this day he loves his parents for caring enough about his future and well being. Through the years he has seen many changes occur. He wonders if these changes are for the good of America…Only Time Will Tell!

    ACKNOWLEDGEMENTS

The Author would like to give a special acknowledgement to Chip Dawson who has always been a remarkable son and companion and as a father I’m very proud of him and his family. The Author is most thankful that he was raised by his parents to be respectful, responsible, hardworking and self-reliant. This is why the Author respected and loved his parents. This is what he inherited from his parents and all his past generations. In tracing back his Ancestry when they sailed to America arriving in the 1600s at Jamestown, Virginia and Plymouth, Massachusetts he had discovered through research of his family history the many hardships that his ancestors endured and wonders how they persevered. They persevered by being self-reliant. He can only imagine how difficult it must have been. His thoughts in his mind of how very fortunate that during his life the hardships that he has endured were nothing compared to his ancestors. To inherit these qualities is the most valuable gift of all; that you can receive from your ancestors.

This inherited gift left by each generation, improves the ideals of the next generation.

    GOD BLESS AMERICA

    Sincerely,

    Charles M. Dawson

    CHAPTER 1

    SELF-RELIANCE

The Formula for Success in Life is Faith, Self-Reliance, Hard Work, Perseverance, and Responsibility…

If Individuals Maintain These Attributes they shall become Successful at any Endeavor they so Desire.

Be of good courage, and he shall strengthen your heart, all ye that hope in the Lord Psalm 31:24

The dictionary defines self-reliance as 1: oneself: itself 2: of oneself or itself 3: by oneself or itself; also: automatic 4: to, for, or toward oneself. 1: the act of relying 2: the state of being reliant 3: one relied on.

The dictionary defines dependence as 1. The quality or state of being dependent; esp.: the quality or state of being influenced by or subject to another 2: RELIANCE, TRUST 3: something on which one relies 4: drug addiction.

America, which way do you want it? Do you want to be hardworking and self-reliant or do you want to be dependent on the government? It’s your choice. Choose wisely, because your future depends on your decision. So many Americans choose to take the easy road and depend on the government to support them. Is this what you want out of life, to hang out, do nothing and receive government support and not try to improve yourself? That’s not fair to you as a moral individual; you can do better than this. Write down the problems you have to overcome, address the hardest ones first and the rest will take care of themselves. The biggest problem you will have is if the government runs out of money and can’t support you or decides not to support you anymore. You should be real concerned about this problem. Don’t let this happen to you, be an achiever, if you falter, get up and start again.

If you’re a young person, finish school. The more education you have completed, the more chances you have for a better job and career. If you’re on drugs (we are not talking about medication) there’s help available, you’re better than that. Try your best to stop. It’s hard, but, your life will get better. If you’re unemployed, work as hard as you can to find employment. It’s not always easy, but don’t sit around and feel sorry for yourself and become lazy; it does not help you become a better person. There are millions of opportunities in America. Go find them. If you’re handicapped, older or an elder person, Americans gladly support aid to individuals who truly need it.

    Quote…

To have Self-Reliance, is to be Self-Reliant

    Charles M. Dawson

America was built by hard working independent individuals who were self-reliant. This type of individual does not depend on government to support him. Early Americans wanted the American dream, and with hard work and perseverance, they were successful in their endeavors. You can look all over this country and see the many success stories of individuals who found the American dream. They had an idea and they pursued it.

Can you imagine looking back in the early 1600s the hardships the individuals had in leaving England, spending three months crossing the Atlantic Ocean and arriving in Jamestown, Virginia to a new land called America. They were sent by the King of England to explore the new world, set up colonies, and ship all the riches back to the King. One of those riches was tobacco, which started world trading for America. These individuals soon realized that it was time to separate them from the King’s suppressive rule that had made them so dependent on him. They wanted freedom and independence. Unfortunately, there were many battles to fight, in the end; Americans persevered to gain their freedom and independence.

The Pilgrims sailing on the ship Mayflower landed at Plymouth Rock, Massachusetts, in 1620 after enduring many hardships at sea. The first winter there were many who died. The ones who survived persevered toward their dream and left the oppression of the King behind. The Pilgrims set the stage for one of our most grateful holidays, THANKSGIVING. We all should give thanks for divine goodness.

Think about the migration of pioneers who forged their way across America and persevered through all their hardships to seek freedom and a better life. It’s a good thing these individuals were self-reliant; otherwise they would not have endured the harsh conditions to make America the great country it is today.

Government seems to think they have all the solutions to everyone’s problems. The more government hands out to Americans (taxes rise, the cost of living increases) with no end in sight. Now we become a

welfare state with more and more people becoming dependent on the government. At that point America becomes a socialist country. Many Americans can’t see it coming, but you better think about it. Who’s going to bail the United States Government out of this problem, maybe some foreign country? No, the moral American people will eventually come together and straighten out our dysfunctional government. Other countries are financing our government to spend money like crazy on our own social programs. Many of these social programs should not even be considered for legislation in congress, because many social programs should be a personal decision by the individual American. Can’t you see it coming that our government more and more is making your personal decisions in your daily lives? That’s because some people in our government believe that Americans can’t make their own decisions. They think we’re a bunch of dummies. They want to have control over your lives. The next thing you know, the government will be stopping by your house before dinner to make sure you are preparing the proper menu that is prescribed for you in your government hand-book.

Our government wastes too much time and money on too many social issues. Wasting money doesn’t set too well with hardworking self-reliant Americans.

Consider this America, do you know that our own United States Government is becoming less self-reliant, you ask way? The answer, other countries buy an enormous amount of US Treasury Notes from our government and for now America is still a sound investment, in a world of bad neighborhoods. How long will that sound investment last for those countries? Not long, the problem lies ahead. Other countries are financing our government’s enormous appetite for spending, much of it wasteful spending on bad ideas and social give a way programs. Some social programs are very important to Americans, such as Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid. There are some other programs that are important too, but not all programs. America tell our government to stop wasting our hard earned money.

The dictionary defines Socialism as 1: any of
