About this ebook

This book is about a church man named Greg, his wife, Beverly, and her lover, Buster (who is also her husband's business partner). The story whirls around deception and lies as Beverly has her priorities in the wrong place.

Beverly, not considering the consequences of her behavior, particularly what her husband would have to endure and the embarrassment it would cause to him, takes him through a series of deceptive episodes.

However, Greg's church mother (Mother Beal) and a family friend, Ms. Johnson, felt the whole while that Beverly had a hidden agenda to deceive her husband. The truth unfolds and it all comes to light in an unusual way.

    CHAPTER 1

    BEVERLY’S

    LIES

    AND

    THE

    COST

It had to be in the month of September when Greg invited Beverly to a company social. They were introduced by Buster, a friend and business partner of Greg, about two months ago at a Fourth of July cookout. During the company gathering, Greg begins to talk to Beverly about her future goals and the thought of marriage. But, of course, Beverly really was not interested in this type conversation, only if there was any kind of financial gain for her. Oh yes, she will talk all day long about anything if you wanted to as long as it allowed her access to more money in her bank account. Then, Greg suggests that he get a drink for both of them. She smiles and says Of course that would be lovely. Greg replies saying, I’ll be right back.

Buster comes over to Beverly asking, How is everything going? Buster says, You and Greg seem to be doing well together. Beverly then replies, He’s okay. But he’s not nothing to run and call mother about. Beverly adds, If my mother was still living. Buster says, I’m sorry to hear that, Beverly. But you really don’t know who Greg is. Greg can make all your wildest dreams come true. Buster said, Girl you got it made if you want it. Hey, Greg seems to really be into you.

Beverly replies, Say what Buster. What are you saying? Greg really got money like that. Beverly swiftly responds to Buster. Beverly’s eyes brighten up and her continence lifts as if she was just resurrected from the dead. She suddenly displays a wide smile across her face like Fourth of July fireworks. Buster makes an exit immediately when he sees Greg making his way back over to Beverly.

Greg then returns with two clear sodas. He then begins to inquire as to whether Beverly was seeing with anyone. She spoke with much humor and said, I’m seeing everyone in here. Greg smiles and replies to Beverly, "What a
