About this ebook

GOD, FIRE AND TRUTH
“A POETIC JOURNEY THROUGH THE BIBLE ”

This is a book about the bible written all in poetry. Each
and every book of the Bible is in this book with a few of my
own poems not based upon the book that I read to get the
major poems about the most important parts of the Bible. If
you like the Psalms but find the other parts of the Bible a bit
confusing, then this is a book that will help you understand
the Bible better.

We have a loving, but just God. You wouldn’t let your child
run wild in the traffic of the streets would you? Well God
sets down rules so that we can be safe and get through this
sometimes hard world. He does it because He loves us!

I hope this book will give you hours of enjoyment.
I know I learned a lot from writing it that I did not know
from reading the actual Bible. Nothing can surpass the actual
Bible, but for some, you may find this book to be rather fun.
The poems were written from reading a small book about the
most important parts of each book of the Bible.

Author

Diann Ross Woodbury

Diann is not afraid to take on various subjects that might be controversial to certain people or groups of people. She considers herself to be a fanatical and an absolute zealous Christian. Those two words mean that she is on fire for and unyielding for her cause, which is for the Kingdom of Jesus Christ, her God! Her house is painted bright red for the blood of Jesus Christ. She was taught very early after getting saved to not intellectualize herself right out of being saved. She believes everyone deserves the chance of getting saved, no matter what awful things they might have done. Every book she writes has a three page poem on forgiveness. She believes that all of us have “to work out our own salvation with fear and trembling” (Phil. 2:12) It is a process that goes on for the rest of our earthly lives. She has written three other books. Longings from Degradation to Enlightenment; God, Fire, and Truth: A Poetic Journey Through the Bible, All Poems About a Loving God; and, the first of a series, The Caleb: A Christian Dog, a Spiritual Journey and Adventures. All are in paperback and the first two are on e-book in black and white and The Caleb: A Christian Dog series is on e-book in color. The second of the series is now being written and is entitled The Caleb: A Christian Dog, an Ongoing Journey in and of the World. All of the series of The Caleb also detail her ongoing struggles with extreme health issues. Her message stresses that, no matter how sick you may be, to stay with Jesus and never give up!

    DEDICATION

First and foremost all my books are dedicated to my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ!

Also this book is dedicated to M.J.D. Without the original notes of her book this probably would have taken a very long time to write, if at all. She is always doing something to help further the knowledge of the kingdom of our LORD JESUS CHRIST!

And to the team of Xlibris who published this book. Especially Jules and Frank.

    Praise be to God!

    Love, Diann Ross Woodbury

    PREFACE

I wrote these poems because so many people have said they have a hard time reading, let alone studying the Bible. They say it is just too long and hard to understand. I know that by doing it this way, with the help of a small book written by M.J.D., I was better able to myself understand the actual Bible better. Lots of people however, said they did like to read the Psalms even though they did not rhyme. I thought if there was a book published somewhere that was written like the Psalms but rhymed, how nice that would be, especially if it contained the whole Bible. Well with a lot of long hard work here it is. I pray that you will enjoy it as much as I loved writing it

Also I changed the cover for this book because of a painting I did years ago. I named that painting God, Fire and Truth because we start out in most things of life, including getting saved by the Lord Jesus, and it all seems so perfect (like the Garden of Eden), and then we are put through the fires of life and salvation to see if we will make it, like marriage. It starts out sometimes as lust and then you find things you do not like about the person, but you took vows. Will you see it through? You can apply this painting to almost anything; even your job or other endeavors in your life. Like my other books, they are written around a lot of my paintings. Painting first, then the book. I plan to get through the fires of life and I hope you do too!

This non-denominational poetry book would be a good reference book to accompany the Bible in Bible study.

MAY GOD BLESS AND KEEP YOU AND YOURS,

    LOVINGLY, DIANN ROSS WOODBURY

    THE BIBLE

It sometimes makes me sick to think,

    Into depressions depths we sink.

Why must we sit and cry and mope?

Why can’t we just get up and cope?

All this worry makes my stomach queasy.

It’s us that makes this life not easy.

If we could just worry cast aside

    And learn to flow gently with the tide;

In better health we’d probably be,

Our bodies and mind in harmony.

    We have to learn to plant the cactus;

To safely do it, takes much practice.

    Likewise dealing with everyday stress,

Otherwise we end up in a bigger mess.

If you sometimes think that life’s not fair,

Be careful lest you end up in despair.

Please don’t say You wish you could.

Do it! It will only bring you good.

    If you don’t know how, then find some help;

There’s lots of books upon that shelf.

    Maybe it’s no easy task,

But it’s darn sure better than the flask.

The Bible is the best of books.

Cast your worries, on it get hooked!

Jesus is the answer for the world today.

With Him your burdens can melt away!!

    THE BIG BANG

Do you honestly think the world was started

With a big loud bang; like all of a sudden there’s creation?

    Like nothing had a thing
