About this ebook

World Peace: A Possible Dream
by: Janie Guy Winter

Janie Guy Winter will fascinate your mind through her Xlibris release. It is so UNIQUE, no matter kind of book you prefer, you will delight in its innovative literary approach. Safe to say, there is something for everyone in these pages. As ambitions as the topic is, its message might be the epiphany we are all looking for… whatever outcome, it’s a great read. It is a zany "soufflé" of humor, wit, gladness, and sadness through the eyes of today's times and yesterday’s nostalgia.

Its fascinating style juxtaposes hilarity and seriousness and weaves these two opposites into a mind blowing experience. The book covers a cornucopia of information from past to present: including historical facts, personal stories, and ideas your imagination will love. It will leave your mind reeling with wonder!

It presents the alarming societal and political problems (even dealing with the nuclear danger dilemma) that people struggle with everyday and puts a spin of realism and humor on them. As a whole, it inspires the readers with the feeling that changing the world is not impossible and that miracles of thinking can influence the whole of humanity leaving the reader with a viable vision of peaceful coexistence.

“My hope is that this awakening will lead to a new universal international mindset, and this new universal international mindset will overcome the current way of seeing war, forever deleting war as an option to solve anything,” says the author.World Peace inspires readers with the knowledge that a beautiful, peaceful existence will soon be realized once the world’s ‘pioneers of peace’ are born.

It is so enjoyable; you won’t want to put it down!

World Peace - Janie Guy Winter

    WORLD PEACE, A Possible Dream

reviewed by: Libby Crew, An inspired reader of World Peace

This book is a must read. Ms. Winter skillfully takes the past, present and future and presents it to us in one zany soufflé of humor, gladness, and even sadness through the eyes of today’s times, and yesterday’s nostalgia.

She presents to us those gut wrenching societal and political problems that we struggle with everyday and puts a spin of realism and humor on them—leaving you with the feeling-hey! it really is just that simple! Maybe we can pull our world out of its tailspin. Miracles of thinking do influence the whole of humanity.

Even though this presentation is cloaked in humor, don’t get it wrong - She is serious!—but using humor as a way to bring insights into healing the world’s self destructive situations gives the viewer (hopefully) a new vision. A vision of the way to have a loving world, not in some distant far off future but instantly, and this vision infused into the viewer’s daily lives, inspires them with the knowledge that their beautiful, peaceful existence is contagious and is affecting the entire world. A new pioneer is born, the pioneers of PEACE! She ends with pulling us all together as one through her travels around the globe-enriching us spiritually.

Winter’s ultimate goal for this manuscript is to alter the world’s collective perception of war and other universal dilemmas, prompting a widespread change in the current global mind set. ". . . my hope is that this awakening will lead to a new universal international mind set, and this new universal international mind set will overcome the current way of seeing war forever deleting war as an option to solve anything." Don’t miss this-you will absolutely love it!

It was the certain knowledge that man-kind likes mankind—No matter what kind.

    PREFACE

This book is presented from the perspective of America, because I live here.

I hope the ideals and truths offered in this manuscript are so universal that they apply (if the non American readers will indulge me) to your counties too.

Some of my stories in the book were based on my reading newspapers, periodical and watching television reports on a daily basis leading up to the First Gulf War then the second Gulf War and also a cache of magazines I found from the 50ies. If you did not live through the ’50s, ’60s, ’70s etc. you will feel like you did after being in the amazing literary TIME CAPSULE.

Although this book contains stories and comments about information gleaned from newspaper articles and periodicals these stories play a minor part in relationship to the whole of the book.

This book is a cornucopia of information including, historical facts, personal stories, and uniquely presented ideas for your imagination to delight in.

I want to emphasis that I do not belong to any political party and that I am not in favor of one party over another to further any particular ideology, even, at times, when you read it, it might seem that way. I wrote this book in favor of world peace, that is my one and only ideology.

If I did have to have an affiliation I would belong to the Loveocrat Peacepublican Saving the World International Party.

    HI

Since the advent of the ‘Communication Technology Age,’ no longer can one pocket of people ignore the other pocket of peoples’ troubles, and the more we are connected by communication, the more alarmingly aware we become of the fact that if one part of the world throws its trash out its back door, then the rest of the world gets it. No one can think in isolated spheres anymore. The possibility of world annihilation is becoming more and more a frightening reality. People everywhere, of every nation, color and creed are concerned and are addressing this terrible issue in thought, spoken word, written word and deed. And there is now, quite rightly, a worldwide concern!

Because of this growing concern, people have been communicating their ideas of how to stop Earth’s devastation. I find these endeavors admirable. But somehow I get bogged down in the technical aspects or just lose the point altogether because it is so serious and too difficult to understand. Because being serious and technical caused me to lose interest in the other works and not carry out their heartfelt ideas; I have chosen a light-hearted method to express my World Peace, A Possible Dream, in spite of the gravity of the subject.

Another reason I chose a light-hearted method for my book is that, not only did I think it might be a more effective approach, but also I thought it might be a refreshingly different approach.

I want my book to be funny, exciting, and inspiring.

I don’t want you to be able to put it down wondering what idea the next page may bring; wondering if you are going to laugh or cry next; wondering if you could make a difference in bringing about a better world. You, yes, YOU!

And I’d be wondering if you began wondering if peace could really be! And later I would wonder, if while you were reading, the thoughts and ideas, which are cloaked in humor, would take root in your mind and heart, and would begin to germinate, grow, and touch your soul. And the more you thought about it, the more the thoughts would begin to strike you as poignant, true, and timely, and would create a call to action in your life. Changing from what difference can I make, I am just one person, to the world is my backyard and it is important what I do!

And I would wonder if my book could grow from being FOOD FOR THOUGHT into FOOD FOR ACTION!!!!!

Though I have chosen a humorous format for such a serious subject, do not think that I take it casually at all! I do not want to skirt the issue. I will address the subject at hand, whether it is apparent at first or not! Don’t judge this book by its ‘covered contents’. Judge it for its impact, dear reader, for its total effect; that of catharsis. See, if after you have finished the book, in the quiet of your reverie, see if the ideas release your soul’s isolation from, I am the only one that sees it that way, to I am not the only one that sees it that way! When that feeling of release sweeps over you because, what you have been thinking all these years finally found its voice, then judge it!

Maybe after you digest it a bit and reflect upon it, you will think, Hey, wait a minute, I see what she means! IT COULD BE SO! THIS IS AN IDEA THAT HAS REACHED ITS TIME IN THE CONSCIOUSNESS OF MANKIND.

    I

    CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE!

I assure you that if you stick with it and read it to the end, it will make a difference. That is my goal.

I’m sorry if I amuse you along the way to influence you, but I want to ensure that it is read, and not only read, but also enjoyed and not only enjoyed, but also acted upon . . . I mean what do we have to lose: just about EVERYTHING! So it’s worth a try!!!

I know that I am always more enthusiastic about something if I am entertained. So I have chosen to entertain you, make you laugh and cry all the way to the arena of your inner conviction, and create in all of us a new point of view that ‘saving the planet’ has got to become a common daily thing: as common as brushing your teeth,as common as breakfast, lunch, and dinner, as common as expecting the Jolly Green Giant to pick your vegetables, as common as TV cops always catching the bad guy, as common as the common cold.

And my goal is that saving the earth will become a way of life that started with YOU today; YOU as an individual influence, influencing those in your concentric circles of influence by your/our own personal behavior.

Let’s have a multi-level marketing of good living on the whole planet earth and let’s think of us as already saved . . . plop plop fizz fizz ‘oh ‘whata’ relief it is’ to live in a world at peace with itself! Finally, let’s have this multi-level marketing of good living to grow exponentially.

I am going to prod, cajole, frighten, and amuse you into action. I’m going to tell you, again, to separate your trash. I’m going to tell you, again, to vote. I’m going to tell you, again, you hair might be aerosol ‘ed’ into place for the party tonight, but I don’t think your children’s children are going to like the atmosphere’s morning after. I’m going to tell you, again, that bagging your trash in plastic becomes a tragedy. You might think that it is a normal thing to do, but plastic is not a good idea. Plastic garbage bags mount up and equal an ‘un’ biodegradable disaster.

(Remember that boat that floated up and down New York’s waterways full of stinking plastic garbage bags that nobody wanted. It should not be ignored. It was a sign, a harbinger,[1] a signal from the body, the soul, the spirit, the heart of the Earth to Earth’s brain (us) to see that it was sick. It was an outward sign, a visual message, from the bowels of Earth indicative of a much deeper problem. Just like the advent of a serious diseasethat little spot that just won’t heal, well, metaphorically speaking, that barge was simply a pimple on the nose of the world! You can look at it and ignore it so long, but it is not going to go away; and if we don’t admit it, and tend to it, it’s going to grow into a full-blown disease of rot, and we will be the late great stinking planet earth!

I’m going to tell you again. We need to

LIGHTEN UP A LITTLE ON MOTHER EARTH.

    THAT’S YOU      YES, YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    QUIT        POISONING OUR STREAMS!

    QUIT     OIL SPILLING!

QUIT  THINKINGTHAT WAR AND KILLING SOLVES ANYTHING!

THAT DOG JUST DON’T HUNT NO ‘MO’!

QUIT     THINKING THAT IT DOESN’T MATTER.

    IT ALL MATTERS VERY MUCH.

Though it matters very much, I don’t want us to be negative with all sorts of doom and gloom about our problems; because that’s kind of part of the problem too.

Yes I know that our global problems are serious, as serious as cancer. However, the science of medicine in the treatment of cancer lately has begun to believe that attitude is just as much a factor in the prognosis of the disease as the disease itself. That negativity, anger, fear, confusion, resentment, bitterness, pain, and guilt have intensifying effects on the malady. Being low in spirit, with its accompanying negative attitude, agitates and aggravates the illness and can be a contributing factor to the deterioration of the person and actually hasten death.

So just like a bad attitude in cancer doesn’t help, looking at the myriad of Earth’s problems AND LETTING IT GET YOU DOWN is not helpful either! If you think, WHO AM I? I AM JUST ONE PERSON; I CAN’T DO ANYTHING! You’re letting the cancer of the mind’s attitude defeat us too.

Metaphorically speaking, let’s say the world has cancer and you’re wondering if it can be cured. Yes, it can! It can be cured by right living, having the right attitude and some technological medicine too. It can be cured! So let’s not give up hope. Let’s not be too serious and negative. We are going to keep a good attitude and just LIGHTEN UP AND LAUGH our way to world peace. Let’s keep our sense of humor, our hopes and spirits high.

Humor, hope, and spirit are the gifts of life that we can’t bottle up and drink when things are going wrong. These are the miracles that supersede all known scientific explanation; part of the great mystery and wonder of life. So we need to choose to stop moaning and groaning about past problems and extinctions. I’m sorry there might not be any more dodo birds (they became extinct in our time) but there aren’t any dinosaurs either. Stop, draw the line. Put the past behind us to where it belongs. No more crying over spilt ‘OIL’. Don’t look back. We must look forward with a good attitude. We must reverse the cancer of our planet, the erosion of the good in favor of the bad and we must do it now in our attitudes and our actions.

We must do it with the incredible technology we have at our fingertips. We must tip the scales and create a brotherhood among nations. I mean really, why do you think we, mankind, as we grow on this old earth, are gifted through science with so many new ways to tackle problems? It’s so we can use this progress to promote us as the species put here on this Earth in the image of God. If on the other hand you, if you are not religious, then see us as a species put here with the options of fulfillment or destruction, but whatever way you see it, SEE IT!

So that is the introduction to my book. Please stay with it, ’cause believe it or not, in the end, it may change YOU/US all for the better as individuals. And as individuals it is the only way we can make a difference. It’s the only way we are going to make it through THE DARK NIGHT OF THE SOUL TO BRING ABOUT THE CONVERSION OF THE WHOLE (WORLD THAT IS).
