About this ebook

"This is a masterful analysis of suffering, its causes, and its cure. It is richly illustrated with stories, stories that are either true or could be true, and that reflect actual realities human beings have been living in extreme personal life situations all over the world. The book overflows with a love for high morals and ethics, and a likewise intense and well-deserved disdain for corrupt and degraded social trends. It is strong and colorful, written from religious universality and true spiritual passion, with a sincere and total dedication to enlightenment, transformative educational reform, and to planetary upliftment."

    Preface

This book was written with several different goals in mind. My spiritual foundation is in Yoga, as it is practiced in India, my childhood home. Many believe that Yoga is merely a collection of exercises and poses practiced for fitness and flexibility, but a closer look reveals an emphasis on meditation techniques in daily sessions which often work well to reduce stress and to create inner peace.

Beyond Yoga are contemporary teachings based on the commonalities from among the world’s major religions and the teachings of various gurus and prophets. Contemporary teachings seek to acquaint today’s society with the distinction between the human body and the entity which gives it its unique qualities and life itself.

The emerging general approach to spirituality suggests that awareness or Enlightenment can come from serious meditation during which one ceases to think and instead remains mentally still for extended durations of thirty minutes or longer. This meditation acquaints one with their Soul which departs the body upon death, which has been described by countless individuals who have briefly died and have then been resuscitated or revived.

A substantial body of work is focused on what hypnosis patients say about what they experienced when their Soul left the body they had in their most recent past life. More than two thousand people who underwent such interviews reflect upon their death in their past life and their subsequent journey to a spirit realm or world reliant upon this world, the world of form, to provide Souls with a view of the many failures that lead away from their Creator whom they seek to emulate. Beings from an eternal realm incarnate into human form to experience the hostility, anger, fear, regret, grief, and life circumstances of the planet Earth and its human civilization. From this they learn and come to understand and appreciate love, compassion, empathy, sacrifice, and humility.

The goal of these incarnating Souls is to become learned enough to avoid having to continue incarnation to live out still more human lifetimes, to instead dwell permanently in the world of the Creator, where time, space, and matter do not exist.

The world’s major religions appear to focus on this goal but show little success in the pursuit of actual enlightenment, which has been obtained by the subjects of widespread respect or worship, e.g., Nanek, Muktananda, Jesus, Buddha, and others. Indeed, much of religion today serves as a source of political power and societal manipulation and not as a path to the Light of the Creator.

The rest of Earth’s inhabitants are hopelessly distracted by politicians and corporate profiteers who peddle misinformation, and unwholesome notions and imagery, to anyone who will listen or watch, damning them all to a life without awareness of their goodness and inner beauty, especially in western society. In the name of free speech, children and homes are corrupted by the least worthy among us, and the true nature of our leaders is concealed by those who care naught what happens to the children or to the earth.

As a thirty three year old mother of two, and as a lady, my hope in writing this book is to cause those who read it to wake up to the goodness that awaits them in living by right choices. The direction that governments and corporate interests would have one face is away from the Light of Universal Truth. Who are they that they should choose our direction? When they choose the direction children face, how can those children grow to understand the vital importance of righteousness? This is the debasement of culture and civility around the world of today. Imagine a world governed by adults who grew from childhood with the knowledge that they are loved by a Creator who is impressed only by their right choices and by their compassion for all sentient beings.

I shudder to think of the inner workings of minds who seek to corrupt children away from their own parents, with sensual temptations of every kind, with material worship and false promises. Who is it that surrounds us with military might and global commerce that we should lose our children to them and to society’s filth?

This is written from the perspective of a Being who dwells in the spirit realm described under hypnosis by those I mentioned above, a being named Shanti who does not inhabit a human body but who rather serves those Souls who do, acting occasionally to aid and to guide others who struggle with the life situations their human host experiences.

There are several aspects of the relationship between the material world and the hereafter, between the human mind and the Soul, and between the egoistic distractions of human civilization and living in the Now, which are briefly explained in the opening chapters.

Shanti - Peaceful; the tranquil one.

    Introduction

From Shanti to Earth’s chosen, the human race:

Does consciousness travel faster than the speed of light? This question glitters with scientific possibilities and it intrigues intellectuals of all types and persuasions who may care to cogitate upon it. As with any such query, it is essential to examine the fundamental variables and truths concerning the subjects of the intrigue so as to prevent any false start or presumptions which could lead one in the wrong direction, where valid answers do not exist.

Light travels through space, across a room, down a street, from the sun to the moon, and from the North Star to Earth; light travels distances of whatever length, through space, to a destination.

Light travels at a certain speed, toward its destination at a certain rate of speed, which happens to be 186,000 miles per second or 11.16 million miles per minute. The light emitted by Earth’s sun takes eight minutes to reach the earth, which is ninety three million miles from the sun.

Just the difficult task of measuring the speed of something that travels so quickly is truly a daunting one, a task best suited for only the sharpest minds and physicists. However, to approach the question posed above one must also understand Consciousness so as to measure the speed at which it travels. However, to say that, one must presume that Consciousness travels at all. This is the first mistake.

Your known universe is the confine of time, space, and matter, for the purposes of the question we are presently pondering, which provides the foundation for these variables:

    1. Time - How fast does light travel? How long did it take to reach its destination?

    2. Space - How far did the light travel? What is the distance between the light’s origin and its destination?

    3. Matter - Light, the matter which travels at a given speed over a particular distance, from its origin to its destination.

Above, #1 and #2 are the rules or parameters imposed on #3, which is the matter which traveled the distance at a given speed which you seek to measure. To compare the speed of light to the speed of Consciousness one must first measure the speed of its travel in terms of space and time. How fast is Consciousness?

That is the second mistake, which is built upon the first mistake; setting about measuring the speed of Consciousness based on the presumption that it travels at all. What if Consciousness is like space which, of course, does not travel at all; it is everywhere at once. Space does not travel but rather just sits there, everywhere at once. What if space exists entirely within Consciousness? Does light travel faster than the speed of space? Can you see how the foundation of this question is a false one?

We must avoid a mistake by asking our question about the speed of space, which prevented our presumption that Consciousness travels, and that it is not everywhere at once. What if its attributes are identical to those of space in this regard? What if Consciousness is everywhere at once and therefore does not travel from place to place at all? Can you sense the presumption at the heart of this, the presumption that Consciousness is matter that passes through space to a destination? What if Consciousness is like space and is not at all like matter which occupies space, matter such as light?

The truth is that your known universe exists inside of a realm that holds all universes; it is the world of Consciousness which is without limitations of any kind. Consciousness is everywhere at all times, it does not travel, and it is antecedent to your universe and to all universes. Consciousness came first.

So, when pondering the question about whether light travels faster than Consciousness, it becomes clear that the foundation of the question is deeply flawed, built upon false presumptions. Here, I will set about explaining certain truths that will help you approach the universes and their relation to Consciousness in a more responsible manner.

I am Shanti, and I am a wonder of Creation, as is the Soul which inhabits your body. You have undoubtedly heard about the experience of those who at one time lost the function of their body and claim to have left it behind, consciously floating over the scene of their body’s death, observing and listening to all that happens while they watch. I am such a Soul, but I am presently not inhabiting a human body but rather I watch for souls on Earth who encounter uncontrollable circumstances which may serve to thwart the ultimate will of the Creator, who is I Am, or God.

I have inhabited many human bodies in Earth’s past, just as your Soul now inhabits your body, taking my place in human babies prior to birth, living out their preordained lives on Earth, and then returning to my world, the world of I Am, upon the death of the human body I had inhabited. Through this cycle of life and death I ultimately learned and came to appreciate the meaning of Love and of God’s grace, and I no longer use Earth as a learning tool as your Soul does; I graduated. I still aspire to stand beside the Creator but my lessons are now learned here, in the world of the Creator, I Am.

All things are His, all things are His Creation, and all things exist to manifest His will, which is Love. Consciousness is God’s Love but, as with anything else, an understanding and appreciation of it is better derived through viewing or experiencing its opposite, which is the material world, wherein exists the universes. Your universe is one such universe and Earth is a planet in your universe. You inhabit Earth but you have no knowledge or understanding of the Consciousness that permeates your entire existence. The Creator is everywhere, in all things, and is the source of all things of which you are or will ever become aware.

I’ve been given permission to share my view of the material world and of my work to carry on God’s will, that Souls shall grow as they experience the hostility, fear, and the anger of the human family, as you see it play out before you each day. It is my hope that by sharing my perspective I am able to draw your attention to the unconsciousness of the material world, to expose it as a fantasy, to reveal that the world of I Am, the Creator, is all important and is to be the object of your aspirations, that earthly things are manifest to be overcome and not to be admired or coveted.

Souls who act in the material world as I do are, from time to time, detected as they alter the course of events on Earth and most typically we are called terms of endearment such as guardian angels, helping hands, and so on. The inexplicable and unexpected, the most vital of odd interventions, sometimes save human lives, prevent disasters, and are often the work of Souls such as myself who act to keep God’s plan from being interrupted by the exercise of free will on the part of other Souls or of humans.

In one instance I caused major inconveniences to befall one who had hastily made plans to travel on a plane to another city. A very full human lifetime was preordained for this individual but this burst of free will placed that in danger, for the plane was not safe. So, I caused them to miss the flight which did not reach its destination. Many other human lives perished that day due to the plane’s malfunction and subsequent crash.

The reward I reap from this work is to carry out the Creator’s will, so that I might stand at His side. God said, Let there be light. The source of light itself is I Am, who is the universal Consciousness of which you are unaware, of which you are a child. God is in your life and if you look within to befriend and to know the Soul which guides your actions you shall grow closer to Him.

It is my hope that I can place your view of the world on the path to the Light that is I Am. Your universe is not the vast and all important place you perceive it to be. When you instead direct your quest for Truth at the world to which you return when your human body expires, you will begin to acquire an awareness of how important you truly are, for you are not a mere human body, but rather an eternal Soul which visits Earth to see a contrast to the Love you are to seek on the path to I Am.

To answer the question about the speed of Consciousness I say this. It is a mistake to set about answering this question from a scientific perspective, for science pertains only to the material world. Light travels distances at a certain speed through a space to its destination, while Consciousness has always been, is, and will always be, everywhere, throughout and beyond any space through which light may travel. The question as to whether Consciousness travels faster that light is a nullity.

I came to understand the human existence to be merely a showcase of imperfections created with the
