About this ebook

A collection of poems that paints a story of disenchantment, love and sorrow. There is always a tale to tell and in the form of poetry, Kimelene Carr has spun and woven an exceptional tale that readers will not soon forget. It is her hope that the interweaving thread that binds these poems together, penning an emotional story of once before, of unspoken memories and elusive love, may be discovered by readers and touch their hearts.

    Blank Canvas - Kimelene Carr

    Also Available by Kimelene Carr:

    Sans Espoir

Six persons of uncommon backgrounds are about to be seamed together by a common thread. Circumstance has led each individual on a journey. And though each began on a different route, mapped out by their individual lives, they are now arriving at the same destination and the lesson will soon be learnt that sequential actions can precipitate untold tragedy and the decision of one, can change the lives of others.

    Part One

    Blank Canvas

    "The canvas of life

Laid bare for their artistic showers

But all they painted was tragedy

... if only they’d painted flowers

    Insignificant

    True as the wind

    To calm a lifetime ago

Some THING that never really happened

Abandoning to where dreams refuse to go

    And in stormy seas

    A tidal of perfection

    Capsizing lives: future and past

Culminating in a tsunami of dejection

    Should the tides return

To where the flame signals the day?

Just close eyes. Just close eyes.

Maybe it will all go away.

    Life

    There’s a pattern

    which exists

    the threads of which

    are chosen

    It is sometimes

    ripped apart

    Or stitched together again

    each thread delicately

    Which pattern

    belongs?

    The wearer

    should know

    Discard it?

    Throw it away?

Or let it match the garment for show?

    Inner Turmoil

    The morning had cracked

The yolk fallen from the blue

    Winter had banished the birds

    Together with dreams they flew

    And the burial underneath

Did not feel the drops of rain

    But laid bare and sacrificial

    Soaking in the pain

    No more a summer day

    But a morbid glacier fear

No more a spring breeze blowing by

Only the storm in a tear

    Misdirection

You would drive me in a car

    With nowhere to go

    On the warmest summer night

    The route impassed by snow

And beyond the turn to NOWHERE

    Lies a yellow brick road

The car becomes a pumpkin again

And you return to a toad

No one now to journey with

    On this path to OBLIVION

Where Life and Meaning are running parallel

    Into a blackhole sun

    Third Period Geography

    To have seen the sunshine

    After
