About this ebook
When the first Colossal appeared. No one knew what to do. The frightening beast stood over the city. But no one knew the truth about him. No one knew where he came from. Or what he was there to do.
To one boy named Drake, the first Colossal wasn't the monster everyone else saw. He knew the person, who the Colossal was before they became an unstoppable monster. He spent day after day with him. And he didn't understand why people were making him out to be a monster.
After all, he defeated the Kaiju. He might've injured many people along the way. But even the so-called heroes were known for doing that.
Rampaging towards the city, Drake decided to intervene. He rushed towards the city and quickly felt something come over him. A switch flipped in his head. And with a touch of his hand. He made the Colossal return to their human form. He's not sure why. But Drake knew he was able to change them back, for some reason. He had to find out why.

PROLOGUE
Standing in the sky was easy. But the person before me wasn’t going to be easy for me to take down.
I swung my hand, hoping to hit my hand against his face. My eyes saw the blood on my knuckles. He stared at me with a smirk across his face. He wasn’t the man I thought he was.
My fist collided up against his. His skin vibrated like a shirt being hit by a gust of air. But he didn’t react.
To him. My punch was like a fly hitting a windshield. And my fist was the fly.
Really.
He stared at me. You thought that would hurt me.
His eyes told me what I already knew. I was in trouble.
Oh.
I swung around as my feet floated in the air before him. Shi-.
His fist collided against my fist. I went flying through the air. I felt my body rippling through the wind with nothing catching me. The feeling of the air trying to push me back up to my feet was useless. My body went flying through the air, in a force so great for me to be stopped.
I moved my hands out to my side. I tried to catch a grip of anything. But there was nothing around for miles in every direction.
What are you doing?
The small screen appeared in the corner of my eyes. I saw the words appear as I went flying through the air. Just knock him out.
I muttered. It’s not that easy.
My eyes noticed the man flying through the air towards me. Give me a break,
I grumbled. Already.
Fine.
The words appeared before my eyes. I’m intervening.
I sighed as the man flew up to me. He punched me into the stomach and spun me through the air. I went towards the ground. I saw myself go flying downwards with the gravity of my home planet, pulling me closer to the surface below.
Just a minute,
I told my friend. That’s all I need.
Just to catch your breath.
Her words appeared on the screen before my eyes. Is that right?
I sighed. Yes.
The feeling of my body impacting the ground was loud enough to send a shockwave across the forest. The shockwave bent the trees back until they snapped where they stood. I knew the wildlife in the area had no way of escaping the shockwave. They were dead.
Laying on the crater, I stared up at the sky. I saw his figure flying through the sky towards me. He was like a little dot, in the sky. And with each second, he got closer to me. His hands were held in front of his shoulders with his fists tightly gripped. He was coming for me. But I knew my friend would be arriving before then.
Hi.
She said as her glowing body appeared in the sky above me. Losers.
Clapping her hands together, she sent a shockwave away from her. The shockwave went through the sky towards the man. He tried to stop the shockwave with his hands before his face. But it was too late.
The shockwave hit his body. He went flying backward faster than I could blink. He was gone from my sight.
Wow.
I sighed as I stared up at the sky. I felt a gust drifting over my body. Impressive.
She winked over her shoulder at me. Like always.
She gripped her fist together and moved her hand over her head. Her body went soaring through the air. She went after the man, as I laid there, in my crater.
I was too weak from my fight to move. I had no idea what kind of damage had happened inside the city. But I knew, many of the people were dead.
My head moved over to my side. I saw the wave of destruction in the forest from my fall from the sky. But in the city, the damage was catastrophic. He had punched and flung each other around into the steel and glass structure like we were playing a game of hatch with our bodies instead of a ball.
Looking over my shoulder, I saw the helicopters coming for me. I was in rough shape, and the whole world knew it.
The helicopters came to my aid. They scanned my body with their device, to make sure it was alright to move me from where I was laying. I stared up at the sky as they moved their heads to my side. It took two of them to pick me up in my suit. My suit was thin and made out of a fabric, which was resistant to many things. But even it couldn't withstand the brutality I pushed it through, today.
Closing my eyes, I felt myself being picked up from the crater. I felt a gust of air coming from the helicopter. I was being carried away like I never thought they would ever do.
Opening my eyes, I wondered if she won the fight I couldn’t. I knew I hadn't come to my senses sooner. I might’ve still been in the fight and not in a hospital bed.
But if I had done that. Then she might be in my spot. And I might’ve been in hers.
I stared over my shoulder. I saw her sitting there. Her aura was gone and all I saw was my friend. She was flipping through a magazine with book covers collected on the cover. I knew it was the autumn cover of my favourite book magazine.
Her fingertips moved over the pages. She admired the pages of the book before her. Her hand moved away from the magazine’s page and lifted towards her ear. She brushed a loose strain of her short auburn hair behind her ear.
I smirked as I realized she didn’t notice me staring at her. I wanted to stay at that moment for a little while longer. But the pain, rushing through my body, was too much.
Urge.
I felt a pain in my shoulders. Darn it.
I tried to fight through the pain. But there was too much pain for me to tolerate.
Leaning my head back into the hospital bed, I stared up at the metal ceiling. I knew I wasn’t in a hospital. Not a normal one, that anyone else would be in.
Closing my eyes, I felt the pain overwhelming my body. My bones felt like they were being sucked out of my body. And my skin was crawling as if I had visited the sun.
Passing out was the easiest thing to do. I felt my body going numb as the pain overwhelmed my mind. I felt nothing for a long time. But to me, it was only a few minutes.
Opening up my eyes, I started over on my shoulder. I noticed that my friend was gone. And the chair where she was sitting was empty. I wondered where she had gone.
The door to my room opened. I stared over the white blanket, which was covering my body. I saw him walk into my room.
Oh.
He spoke like he was surprised to see me. I see.
The words coming out of his mouth appeared on the small screen in the corner of my eyes. You’re awake.
Yeah,
I said as I leaned my head back. What happened?
Well.
He sighed as he walked towards my bedside. What do you remember?
I tried to recall what happened. There was a house fire.
I lifted my hand towards my head. And I went to lend a hand.
I sighed. But as I arrived, I was attacked.
I stared over at him as he stared at the screen behind my bed, which was monitoring my vitals. He was strong.
Yeah.
He told me. You were fighting him for five hours.
The man was impressed. And you were holding your own.
No wonder, I feel so tired.
I tried to make an excuse for the condition of my bruised body. How long did it take-
Ten hours.
He told me, without a second thought. But she took him to the moon.
He winked at me.
