    Tainted Spring - Nicole Porter

    Chapter 1

I’ll kill you Abigail, I swear it! Collin yelled.

From the kitchen pantry, Abigail and her daughter, Barbara, trembled together. Every few seconds Abigail squeezed her daughter’s hand.

They knew better than to make a sound. Being caught by Collin in one of his rages meant being hit. Or worse.

    He shook her.

    What did you say?

I poured it out. It isn’t right – the drinking.

Collin threw her back to the floor.

    Dumb woman.

    He kicked her.

Thinking you know better. You have no idea what I’m dealing with. I need it.

He kicked her again. And again. And again.

Abigail gasped out pleas, cries for him to stop, but his foot seemed
