    The Fundamentals of Fly Casting

    Fly casting is easy. The physical skills and mental coordination required are much less complicated than for many of the things we all do on a daily basis: hitting a tennis ball, throwing a pass to a receiver running down the field, shaving, playing the piano, etc. Learn to do things right and become a good caster.     Children are great mimickers, adults not so much. If one were attempting to teach a child to flycast, all that is needed is for the child to watch a good flycaster. If interested, the child would begin to imitate the proper motion of the casting stroke in a relatively short amount of time. This is how children learn to do many things (walk, talk, etc.). As adults, we usually need to know and understand things in order to do them. There are those who advocate that there is not one correct way to cast. This is a comforting thought and quite a crowd pleaser. Especially for those who wish to believe their way of casting requires only a slight tweak and minimal practice to become much
