About this ebook
REFLECTIONS... An Anthology Of Thoughts
'Reflections'... is a book that will travel, a timeless treasure.
- Uzor Maxim Uzoatu (poet, author & veteran journalist)
In all, 'Reflections'... is a compendium of honour for those who have brought the Nigerian film industry to where it is today.
- Niran Adedokun (writer, columnist & movie award jury chair)
What 'Reflections' captures in snackable bites... are the profiles of the luminaries whose radical thinking and struggles manifested in the shining beacon now called Nollywood.
- Sola Osofisan (award-winning writer and filmmaker)
The three voices above perhaps form the three-pronged African stove over which these 'Reflections' will continue to simmer and mature. The 300+ page book is filled with enriched information, personal recollections, detailed fact-checking of many of the major works of our movie and theatre stars across the ages.
It also includes some never-before-seen photographs graciously supplied by owners, or family members and associates of those who have moved on. A great trove of delightful "snacks" (Osofisan's word) to chase away boredom or downtime. Surely, a collector's item.
Reflections is indeed an anthology, a collection of my thoughts, observations and sentiments during more than three decades chronicling the Nigerian entertainment industries as a journalist, critic, and systemic rewarder.
Femi Akintunde-Johnson
Virtually everybody calls him FAJ... he's been a writer and avid reader since age 11...with a number of journalism, entertainment and other awards confirming he is in the right place. So much to share and engage after 35 years of intense dalliance in the creative industries...during which he founded and published a number of magazines with national spread, and two books, narrating slices of a peculiar life.As he grows older, the itch to write and share more suggests we will be seeing more of his books, God willing. By the way, he is a football addict, crazy about his wife and three children, and lives happily in Lagos, Nigeria. You can reach him on @TheRealFAJ or fajalive1@gmail.com.
