Runes for Beginners - Amber Logan
Introduction
Since the 17th century , modern-day celtic runes have been used for divination for hundreds of years. They are small stones carved with an old, magical script and used to foretell the future and answer questions. For decades; the finest psychics have used physical instruments to extract responses from the world. Tea leaves, coffee grounds, and crystals can all be used to get accurate readings, but cards are by far the most common. Many psychic mediums use tarot cards, angel cards, and even playing cards to tell fortunes, answer questions, and offer greater insights into a person's true intent. On the other hand, Celtic rune stones are an ancient oracle used to obtain useful knowledge and link to the magic of the world. Runes were most certainly the first magical instruments used for defense and connecting to psychic insights, with a long and complicated history. The use of runes can be traced back to the Roman and Germanic periods, with the first runic script dating from 150 to 800 AD. The root of the word rune means secret,
whisper,
something concealed,
and mystery
in different languages, implying the unique powers that casting runes possesses. Rune Stones are also known as Celtic Runes, Magic Runes, and Viking Runes. While the form of the symbols can vary somewhat, all rune stones have the same runic script. Rune stones can be used in divination as an oracle to foresee the future, direct you, and answer your questions. The ancient symbols will reveal information about a condition and also provide a guide to predicting outcomes. Many psychics can combine casting runes with their instincts and provide more precise responses to particular questions, as they tend to fill in the gaps and offer insight into the bigger picture. The mystical symbols found on rune stones were once used to make amulets, shields, and to hide hidden messages. The runic script, like other common symbols like the hamsa, ankh, eye of horus, or tree of life, has been used for centuries to provide protection and healing. You can grasp the influence of magical images by reading a Dan Brown novel or watching Indiana Jones.
Chapter 1 what is Runes and what is the best way to read Runes?
Origins and Evolution
BY 700 CE, VARIATION HAD SKYROCKETED As ELDER FUTHARK DIVERGED INTO THE REDUCED-CHARACTER YOUNGER FUTHARK IN SCANDINAVIA AND THE MORE ELABORATE ANGLO-SAXON FUTHORC Through BRITAIN AND FRISIA.
The roots of the runic script remain cloaked in mystery to this day. The oldest runic inscription is the one reading harja (possibly meaning comb
or warrior
) on the Vimose comb from Denmark, dated to c. 160 CE, which use runes so self-assuredly and sensibly that scholars consider it have to have resulted from at slightest a hundred years of practise in writing in runes. However, how precisely this tradition emerged from the hat has sparked much controversy and conjecture. The Greek and Roman alphabets and a northern Italic or even Danish origin have all been proposed as sources of inspiration. Because of the similarities in writing, the Greek path is the most possible, and a variant of a Greek alphabet – Greek was unstandardized between c. 700 and 400 BCE – may have entered Germanic speakers through a'middle-man' party made up of eastern Europeans. Norse mythology also provides a nice option, with the god Odin learning the runes after pledging himself to himself by standing on the windy tree
for nine nights without food or water (Hávamál, 139-140).
In either case, by 500 CE, the runic script had spread throughout the Germanic globe, recording a multitude of Germanic languages from Norway, Sweden, Denmark, and England to outposts in Germany, Russia, Poland, and Hungary. The following are the key runic scripts that finally emerged:
Elder Futhark is a character in the Elder Futhark series (at least c. 160-700 CE)
Futhark, the younger (c. 700 - c. 1200 CE)
Futhorc (Anglo-Saxon) (also Anglo-Frisian Futhorc, c. 5th century - c. 1000 CE)
Futhork in the Middle Ages (fully formed c. 13th century CE).
Variation can be seen in the oldest runic remains, which fits in with the fact that the runic alphabet was used in different contexts to write a multitude of Germanic languages spoken around a wide geographic region, implying that it is not one-to-one with a language. Rune shapes and their order, use, medium, and layout can differ due to geographical, social, or chronological variations. As a result, a standardized runic alphabet does not exist. By 700 CE, variation had skyrocketed, with a change from the historically fairly generic Elder Futhark in Scandinavia to the reduced-character Younger Futhark in Britain and Frisia, which would afterward crystallize into Medieval Futhork, and the extra complex Anglo-Saxon Futhorc crossways Britain and Frisia.
When a rune stone, casting runes, and what they are used for are listed as a more secret oracle for divination, people normally ask what a rune stone is, what casting runes is, and what they are used for. Rune readings often have profound observations, but not always clear responses. To genuinely read runes and receive correct advice, a psychic counselor must focus on their instincts. The symbols on the runes, like those on tarot cards, often have a particular interpretation and can be translated in a variety of ways based on where they appear in a spread and whether they are right side up or upside down.
