Illusion or Truth - Mustafa Hikmet Tosyali
Chapter One
Observation Of Disorder
What is the most important or urgent thing for humanity in this life? Is it money? Is it security or technology? Is it this virus or its vaccines? Is it health? Is it overpopulation? What is one thing essential
for whole humankind? Most essential thing in life for humans is seeing the truth or reality, isn’t it? What is the point of living your life if you cannot see the simple truth/reality in front of you, no? Then, isn't the most urgent thing to accomplish is to awake
in this life? All these prophets, mystics in the history say wake up, wake up
. Wake up from what? Waking up from your sleep of course, right? What do you mean, wake up
then? You mean I am sleeping meanwhile I am living? Have you ever caught yourself sleeping when you are awake? For example, if you ever drive a car, you know that once in while, when you are driving, your mind wonders away, thinking about something. For 1-2 minutes, you drive automatically, sub-consciously but you don't really see or register what really happening in front of your car. Most of the time, you will have an accident, if you are lucky you will not. Another example, you are reading a book and your mind wonders away. You don't register what you have just read and after you realize, you go back and read again. You cook something, you burn the food thinking about something else, again your mind thinking, instead of being aware
. We dismiss these occasions as day dreaming
. If you pay attention, you will realize that we are spending our days and life, dreaming like this, all the time. This is why they say wake up, wake up from your dream, sleep!
Can you really observe the reality, nature without forcing yourself, just for the sake of observing, living it? When you sit down at a bank in the park, can you watch the trees, animals, people without any noise in your head? When you are at the top of the mountain with a beautiful view, can you really be quiet in your mind, so you can enjoy the beauty in front of you? Are you really conscious and aware of yourself in the dimension you are?
The real order of the mind is not about the order we know. It is inside order. Your room can be in order, very clean and everything but that doesn't mean that you have a real order inside your mind. It is just your illusion to be in order. Your ego is trying to be in order but it is still disorder
operating you.
We are not talking about concentrating your mind to observe the life. Concentration or focus is not the same as living the now
. You have to concentrate you
to have focus. It implicates ego trying to work and focus on what you are trying to do at that moment. You can partially accomplish it but it will be always fragmented not whole. The ego is always trying to control. It is controller, analyzer, and thinker. We are talking about observing the life without any force of oneself.
Chapter Two
Perception and Duality
Let's say you and I are watching a beautiful sunset. There is no problem, everything is perfect, the weather is beautiful etc. While we are watching sunset, I feel in a good mood because I had a good day, maybe I made money or whatever good it is. So, I feel happy meanwhile you feel terrible because something bad happened to you that day. So, who is really seeing the reality
which means to
