About this ebook

Return to Two Spurs, Arkansas – check.

See her old flame – check.

Get him out of her system and move on. Not so easy.

When Audrey Chantilly left home for college, she never thought she’d see Lance Colton again. He never asked about her, never came to see her, and when her life took a turn that tarnished her valedictorian on a full-ride scholarship image, she figured she was done. Pick up her pride and move on. But she’s ready for a new start and the only thing standing in her way is the memory of Lance Colton.

Lance regretted never going after Audrey, but his family’s secret of being horse shifters, kept him on their ranch. When her truck breaks down and he sees her in town, he knows it’s a second chance. One he’s not going to blow. The gentleman in her offers him a place to stay, but after having her back in his life, the man in him wants her to stay in his bed. Audrey’s home. He just has to convince her that there’s a place for her at the Mustang Ridge Ranch.

Whoever built the winding, curving road needed a ruler. A yardstick. Maybe even one of those 100-foot rolling tape measures she’d used once to measure concrete footings on a construction site. The narrow, two-lane highway wound around curves for no discernable reason, up and down steep hills. According to her phone she had another five miles before she arrived, and frankly, after the five-hour drive from St. Louis, she couldn’t wait to get to the small town of Two Spurs, Arkansas. Audrey Chantilly wanted to return home, see her old flame, then get the hell out of dodge.

Her truck lost acceleration going up one particularly steep hill. Come on, baby. Almost there. She willed it to crest the top of the hill and prayed that it’d pick up speed going down. It didn’t. Shit. She glanced at her cell phone. Of course, there was no signal. Until he moved
