About this ebook

My hope is that you find a sense of humanity
and humility in these writings.

Knowing as complex as we are as human beings,
we are all just equally fragile souls,
walking around this world,
trying to find somewhere we belong.

    Broken & Wild - E.R. King

    Valkyrie

She was the kind of girl whose mind

    is unapologetically chaotic.

She was fierce in her authenticity,

    pushing limits of her sensuality.

She faced every challenge with a Valkyrie battle cry

and comforted the wounded with a healing embrace.

She was as soft as she is strong,

with eyes of the moon and a heart made of fire.

    Fiction

I am about to immortalize you.

    Putting pen to paper.

sharing with the world who you are.

People, strangers, will fall in love with you.

As I have, over and over again.

The only difference is you actually broke my heart,

while to everyone else it is just

    fiction.

    Into the Woods

We used to run into the woods to hide together.

Now I run into the woods to hide from you.

    Checkmate

    You lent me your fire,

I put magic in your eyes.

    Together we would be unstoppable.

We just had to convince ourselves.

    Intimacy

    I miss the simple intimacy;

    when hands would touch,

    when hugs would linger,

when I could feel your eyes on me.

This is a detox I didn’t ask for.

And I fucking miss the high.

    Longing

I miss your lips on my neck

and the involuntary sounds, escaping me.

    September

Out of the darkness of the trees

and into the light of the fire.

She was the last person I expected to see,

    walking up my driveway

    that September evening.

We embraced and for a moment

    time stopped.

    We never fought.

    We never stopped talking.

We never walked out of each other’s lives.

    In this moment

    we were just two people,

who once meant so much to the other,

    coming back to a time

    when everything wasn’t complicated.

    Emblazed

I’d cross that line for you

just to have you leave me burning

    down to a smoldering ember.

    Just when I
