About the Author
The Slip Under My Church Dress
I’m the perfection fixer your outfit never wants the world to see.
My relationship with your curves keeps me hanging on.
It keeps me drenched in your body’s spell.
But I can’t live on touch alone.
Plus…I bore easily.
I desire a new set of hills and valleys to explore.
Every Sunday, I sit on this almond colored rose covered bench.
A voice vibrates against the wood telling me to find some person named God to save me from something called sins
.
Are those the things I’ve heard lips reveal about being a friend while you hold a dagger to their back?
Maybe it’s when I came off in the men’s restroom so you could reach his penis faster…but your boyfriend’s voice called for you six times?
Or is it your many visits to the payday loan place to borrow from Peter to show Paul, Dick, and Harry how you are balling out of control
?
If this is sin, I want to know more.
I long for more.
It seems to be the only place where the truth lives similar to my own lifestyle.
I get annoyed that I cannot be revealed to the world.
I’m the reason you look immaculate.
I look like silk armor ready to battle Victoria’s Secrets.
You tell the world that your body woke up like this.
When spotlights beams brightly on you, it burns my delicate and fragile fabric.
I’m constantly having to adhere to commands of your over garments and your mind’s corrupted perfection.
A-line, Sheath, or Tunic…take your pick.
Adversity, Slander, and Trickery…make me sick.
So stand among your admirers.
I will slide down your leg. It’s my turn to be seen. Let me have my moment to shine!
My beige strap looks for land beyond your shoulders to prove that I will NOT be ignored.
You will listen to me.
You will reveal truth.
