About the Author
Prologue
This is an incredible story of a couple born on the same day, in the same hospital one hour apart.
This story would have not happened, unless the author had waited to the last minute to ask Nancy to go with him to the Senior Prom
. After the Prom Acceptance
, this story erupts with none stop action. The story is part fiction, except for the true experiences we both had. The flying jobs, educational degrees, military, and the places they had been. The rest was filled in to make the experiences complete.
The Author uses this knowledge as a senior adult for young people to not to lose heart, and ask God for all things, if you want this to become reality. Therefore, don’t set there like a wall flower, but hang on, the Curtains of your life experience is about to part and the you and your intended one will be on Stage
! Just like happened to the couple, in Once a Upon a Time, There Were Two Soul Mates
! It can happen to you.
The Prom Proposal
It was the last week of January on a Friday morning, 1952 prior to lunch, as we were setting down for our physics class. Don came out of No Where
, and gave Nancy a card with her name beautifully crafted on it. And inside the envelope was a request to meet Don for lunch after class, in scripted letters. After class they met and, with the smile Don love so much, The shadow of her smile
, Nancy accepted the invitation. As they were going down the stairs, Don Said, Nancy find a quiet place where we can eat and talk
. I will buy, and I will bring the trays. We had our lunch with small talk. Don said, Nancy we have about 4 months to go before graduation, what are you going to do the rest of your life?
Don I wanted to go Kent State University and become Primary grade school teacher, but my parent could not afford to send me. Things are really tough financially. Dad suggested he could help get me a job at the Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company, in order for me to pay my own way. By this time we were running out of time until the next class. Don said, Nancy have you made a commitment for the Senior Prom yet?
She said, No
. Would you like to go with me, and Nancy said, without hesitation Yes, I would
. Nancy can I take you home after class in my old 1941 Pontiac? Nancy said, Yes
.
I would like to get your mother’s approval to have breakfast with you in the morning, if you approve, Nancy said, certainly
, besides it is Saturday.
I, also, wanted to spend the day with, you to show you how I make my living.
You will not be bored! (Little did Nancy know what was coming?)
Don took Nancy home, and introduces him to Mrs. Kelly. Mrs. Kelly was impressed with Don’s stature and into mature young man that he had become.
He, also, express desire to keep Nancy until 5 P.M.
He wanted to show Nancy how he made his living. Mrs. Kelley approved.
Don said," Nancy see you at
