- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Have you ever heard the old expression, “Cutting off your nose to spite your face”? Once upon a time, there was a small boy who lived in a small village on the other side of the world. He had a special tree that he considered all his own on a hill overlooking the lush valley where he lived. He loved to climb the tree and play there. But one day, his tree was invaded by some unwelcome visitors. The tree monkeys invited him to come up and play with them in the tree, but instead of sharing, the boy let his anger grow until he made a fateful decision that would change his life forever. What did he do? And how did he feel about it afterwards? Author Wynne Marshall, a self proclaimed “nature girl” who is actively enjoying and stewarding God’s beautiful creation, spins a very memorable tale which will impress youngsters with the value of sharing and the danger of making rash decisions in anger. The humorous illustrations will help children visualize the action and make it even more memorable. The book is also available as a Tate Out Loud product, and information is provided on the last page for how to get a free e-Live audio book digital download from the publisher’s website. The Tree Monkeys is a fun story with an important lesson that young ones will want to read or have read to them over and over.
