I’d first thank God-my Creator-Lord most humbly, gratefully and endlessly to choose me for the noble job of writing this book and to help me complete it under His constant care and guidance. I also beg Him to kindly forgive me for all my negligence and mistakes that I might have shown or done due to my own ignorance and shortcomings.
I also ask God fervently to shower His endless mercy, love and blessing for all the authors alive and dead, to help me write this book with valuable information and ingredient which they obtained through their ceaseless effort, study and research. I have added a list of their books in a bibliography at the end of my book.
I thank Anna, my precious friend, from the core of my heart. It is her question that made me study, explore, and finally share my knowledge and understanding with her and others through my writing. May God always bless her and her family with His endless love, mercy and guidance!
I like to express my thankful gratitude to all my learned friends for their valuable time to read the manuscript of this book and also to give me a chance to share their feedback with my other readers.
I also want to thank my beloved daughter Tasmeea happily and gratefully for the trip to the Smoky Mountain that turned to be really fruitful and significant for me. May God help her always to stick to His Path and to strive for His Cause along with her great husband, Rumi and two adorable daughters, Anika and Amina!
Last but not the least, I’d like to appreciate my loving and caring son Noor and his sweet wife Fahamida with my sincere thanks and gratitude for making me free from all sorts of household duties and responsibilities. It has always been a tremendous help for me to study and to write undisturbed. May God kindly ensure for them and their two wonderful children, Abid and Aisha a safe, secure and a meaningful life!
Last of all, I’d remind all my Muslim friends to ask God for His peace and blessing upon Prophet Muhammad and all His messengers when they come across with their blessed names.
In the Name of God, the Compassionate, the Merciful
What Made Me Write This Book?
As a Muslim by birth and practice, I do not believe in coincidence. I believe everything happens according to the preset timetable of God. If it were not, I would have written something else but this book. I hope my prospective readers will find it interesting, if I tell them how I got into it.
My daughter took me and my younger sister to a vacation trip from Maryland to Knoxville at the end of April about four years ago. It was a round-trip for three days by a double-decker Mega bus. The purpose of this visit was, of course, to enjoy the sublime beauty of the Smoky Mountain in the blooming colors of the spring. After a very exciting, enjoyable, and a hectic trip, we took a taxi and left the hotel early morning for the Mega bus stop. In spite of putting all our efforts to be smart and agile, we were the last three women (seventy two, sixty one and forty eight respectively) to reach our destination, hassling through the morning traffic.
We saw the giant Mega was about to leave fifteen minutes late from its scheduled time. But the driver, a middle-aged white man was kind enough to ignore our delay. He checked our tickets and luggage, pushed them inside the huge belly of the double-decker and then told us nicely to get in the bus. As our seats were not reserved and the lower deck was full, we needed to go up and sit in a hurry wherever we found an empty space.
I thanked God from the heart of my heart that we didn’t miss the bus and since it was the same bus, it did not bother me at all where we sat. After a moment, I thanked God again gratefully and delightfully for allowing me to have a female companion by the window to my left. But now I thank God quite often when I remember my companion was Anna, who became my friend instantly and has remained so until this moment.
While taking my seat beside her, I threw a quick glance at her when she was turning a page of a magazine upon her knee. She was a blond with plenty of curls hanging around her, and because of that, I could not see her face in full at that moment. But I became very pleased at her for something else. She was wearing a printed full-sleeve and high-necked loose frock the length of which reached below her knee. But my pleasure vanished away next moment when I remembered that I was sitting so close to her in my flappy gray burqa (a long attire covering all of me from my shoulder to shoe) along with my black hijab or head cover. I could even feel what was going through her mind since I sat so close by her. Didn’t she know or hear enough by this time to suspect that I might be one of those Muslim terrorist women who hide bomb underneath -
But all my worries and anxieties were wiped out completely, at that moment when I heard her say, Hi
in her sweet, soft, and a little catchy voice along with a charming smile. It was then I noticed she had a lovely innocent face like an angel. She looked a little older than my twenty one years old granddaughter. After that, I did not really know what bonded us together so strongly that it was hard to believe we just met. Nearly with a half a century age difference, we began to talk like two old pals, ignoring everything around us in the running bus. But now I realize it was our genuine love for God that connected us together instantly, though I also knew there was a heaven to earth difference in what we believe and practice in the name of the same God.
I can still remember vividly that most of our talk centered round God and about His endless love and mercy that He constantly showers upon us, in spite of that, how most of us have remained so oblivious and ungrateful to Him. At some point of our discussion, she took out a copy of voluminous Bible from her handbag and it made me feel more impressed about her. I did not really expect that a young, modern, and a smart American girl like her would carry a Bible in her travel kit instead of carrying books of romance, fashion or adventures. Then with my consent, she began to read some of her favorite verses from the Psalms of David. Interestingly, they were my favorite, too.
We did not talk about us that much. But both of us became delighted to know we were heading for the same destination, meaning Maryland, the last stop of our journey. Anna told me she was a teacher in an elementary school, which was a fifteen minute drive from my residence. Her parents were settled in New Jersey, and her fiancé was doing his bachelor in Seminary in Georgia. She also told me happily that they had planned to marry in July when her school would remain closed for summer. I also told her in brief about my life here as an emigrant, my job, my family, and especially of my happy retired life with my grandkids, study, writing, traveling and prayers.
Anna became very happy and excited when I mentioned to her about my book One God For All,
which I already submitted to my publisher but she became more pleased when I told her I actually wrote this book because of my special love and respect for Jesus. Then at some point of our discussion on both Jesus and Muhammad, she asked me abruptly but very politely, Was Muhammad a prophet?
Her question surprised me so much that I couldn’t answer her at once. Doesn’t she know yet,
I asked myself wondering, Islam-the religion of Muhammad, has now become the fastest-growing religion of the world, comprising nearly one-fourth of its population! How it became possible, if Muhammad was not a true Prophet of God?
But Anna pronounced Muhammad’s name so accurately and respectfully that I felt her question about our beloved Prophet was very innocent and genuine. So in reply to her question, I said to her lightly, Since you have the Bible with you, I’d like to answer your question from your own Holy Book.
What do you mean?
she asked me back in utter surprise.
I mean if I tell you, yes, Muhammad is the last and the final Prophet of God, you may not accept it. But if I tell you that both parts of the Holy Bible contain a series of prophecies on Muhammad, you might not dare to ignore it, right?
You mean the Bible has so many prophecies about Muhammad and we know nothing about it?
You certainly can’t blame the Bible for that, right?
I asked her back kidding.
Anna remained silent for a moment and then she asked me again politely, May I please know where does the Bible tell us about Muhammad?
In reply to her question, I said to her casually but confidently, Anna, it is not just one or two, there are many of them. But for now, I could show you just one from the book of Deuteronomy. Can you please open chapter 18?
Just a moment, please.
When she opened her Bible, I said to her, Please read the verse 18 from this chapter.
Sure.
Then she read the verse below slowly, softly, and trying to utter each of its words distinctly clear.
I will raise them up a Prophet from among their brethren, like unto thee, and will put my words in his mouth; and he shall speak unto them all that I shall command him.
(Dt. 18:18)
At the end of her reading, she asked me in wonder, Oh my God, do you think this prophecy was meant for Muhammad?
Yes, without any question.
I admitted to her honestly.
But we believe this prophecy is meant for Jesus.
Anna opposed me softly but with absolute confidence.
Yes, I know. It is not only you the Christians in general believe that too. They believe so without actually knowing Jesus does not match at all with most of its descriptions. As for example, the prophecy tells us clearly the promised Prophet of God would be like Moses, but Jesus is no way like Moses.
Yes, he is. Jesus was a Jew like Moses, and he was also a prophet like Moses.
Anna said promptly.
So were David, Daniel and Zechariah. I mean all of them were Jews and were also prophets like Moses. Weren’t they?
Yes.
Anna said, nodding her head like an obedient schoolgirl.
Do you have any other reason to believe why Jesus was like Moses?
Like Moses, Jesus also spoke to his people by the command of God.
"So did all the prophets of God, whether they were sent before Moses or after him. I mean, no prophet was sent on earth who spoke to their people against the will
