Introduction

The title of this book is historically and prophetically significant, intended to remind readers of the most calamitous episode in the history of the Jews and of mankind - The Final Solution to the Jewish Question. It is not intended to devalue the Jewish people in any way. Absolutely never! Rather, it is to make an extremely solemn commentary, and offer the authentic final solution to the ‘Jewish Question’, the Jerusalem crisis, all global crises and all human problems. You will discover that the FINAL SOLUTION is actually the ONLY PERMANENT SOLUTION to all problems!

The ‘Final Solution’ was Hitler’s codename for the extermination of all the Jews in Europe. He convinced the German people that the core problem of Europe was the Jews. For Hitler, the final solution was the annihilation of all the Jews in Europe. Under this diabolical leader, Adolf Hitler, the Nazis, from 1933-1945, planned and implemented the most overt, systematic destruction of Jews ever in history. From 1941 through 1944, the German railways transported millions of Jews to the six extermination camps in German occupied Poland: Chelmo, Belzec, Sobibor, Treblinka, Auschwitz-Birkenau and Majdanek.

By the end of World War II in 1945, no less than six million Jews and about five million non-Jews had been murdered by means of gassings, shootings, random acts of terror, starvation and other related forms of mass murder. It is estimated that two thirds of European Jewry were annihilated. A total of 60 -70 million human beings, according to different accounts, were killed in this horrendous war - the world’s deadliest and costliest war ever since the creation of humans.

Here we are, seventy three years later in 2018. Have the leaders of the world resolved the ‘Jewish Question’? Have they solved the Jerusalem crisis? Is the Middle East any closer to peace? Is our world any closer to real authentic peace, prosperity, and health for all? Have they solved all the human problems? The answer is self-evident. No! In fact, conditions have markedly worsened for all nations. Further, as the events of the last few years indicate, the hatred of Jews is intensifying everywhere, even within the USA. Therefore, it is imperative for us to understand that the problem in Europe was never really the ‘Jewish Question’. It was and still is the human problem. Innate within our human nature is the tendency to scapegoat a particular race or religion for the problems of the society or the world.

As you will discover in this book, the basic problem has always been the human problem. Every race, every nation, every religion, in every age, faces the daunting task of humanity’s problems. The problems of humanity are not exclusive to any one race, religion, government or nation. It is all of humanity ever since the first human family existed. In this book, you will discover that the final solution to the Jewish Question and the Jerusalem crisis is also the final solution to all human problems.

Over the course of 6,000 years of human history, there has never existed a nation or a people free from human problems. In his quest for solutions, mankind has created different religions, but religion has often served to generate even worse problems. Mankind has developed different types of governmental systems, but all have failed to produce the much desired utopia. Mankind has advanced in technology, medicine and global communications, but yet millions die yearly of cancer, heart attacks, strokes, influenza, famines, wars, terrorism, and other causes.

New leaders emerge chanting new slogans (really old, just cloaked in different ways at different times) to gain followership, but disappoint their followers yet again. How have billions of humans over the ages fallen for slogans like: "change we can believe in; this is a new age that requires new leadership; yes, we can; forward ever, backward never"; and several other such catch phrases, placing their trust and faith in sinful, evil, selfish humans who have no power, or even worse, in most cases, no intention to truly honor their promises.

Even as I write, we are bombarded by news headlines on radio, television, and Internet demonstrating the futility of humans to create a better world. It is impossible to keep abreast of all the problems afflicting humanity in every nation. What is even more alarming is the inescapable fact that the conditions of humanity are degenerating swiftly in every nation on this earth.

Just a casual perusal of daily news attests to the revolting acceleration of deception, decadence, debauchery, violence, terrorism, sexual trading and slavery of children and females, sexual depravity, legalization of homosexual marriage, mental and emotional disorders, suicides, political demagoguery; economic enslavement of the poor perpetuated by the insatiable greed of the corrupt ruling class; religious hypocrisy, the anti-Christ culture, the global spread of Satanism, demonism, occultism, atheism, and materialism. Even more nauseating is the latest shocking news that Planned Parenthood, in the ‘civilized’ USA, is guilty of selling body parts of aborted babies to the public. Can this world become any more sinful, repulsive, callous and ungodly?

Yet an even more ominous global problem is Islamism, which is becoming a nightmare for all nations. Currently, Europe is being invaded by Muslims (many of whom are jihadists) fleeing Islamic Syria, Iraq, and other Islamic nations. Even more terrifying, our world is being traumatized by the unspeakable atrocities committed by numerous Islamic terrorist groups which have already murdered thousands of Christians and even Muslims who are not aligned with their ‘pure’ brand of Islam. Everywhere across North Africa, Middle East, some Asian nations, and now, in Europe and Western nations, Islamic terrorist organizations, in unthinking submission to their founder, Muhammad, methodically unleash their demonic, vitriolic, hatred against Christians, Jews and any group they judge unfit to live so that they may create the worldwide Islamic caliphate, the dream of Muhammad.

Let us quit being naive, pretending that all these multiplying evils are a temporary aberration, that will soon be resolved by a consensus of compassionate world leaders and governments acting in unison for the good of mankind. Such delusional thinking is what causes the uninformed masses to keep trusting in human governments and human leaders who, basically, are narcissistic people seeking self-aggrandizement in power, status, wealth and fleshly pleasures, even while millions are slaughtered or suffer during their reigns. I am not suggesting that we all become complacent and apathetic. We must never be silent in the presence of all this evil; we must speak up, resist evil rulers and people, expose the truth in love, fight for the oppressed, love people, pray, and proclaim the only true Good News in Christ.

But no human being can produce the era of peace and prosperity, unless the God of all creation is involved. Not just any god, but the One, True, Sovereign God Who alone possesses the power to do whatever He purposes. Every reader can have a part in the final solution to mankind’s problems, if you are willing to surrender your thinking and will to the purpose and pleasure of the Holy, Loving, Omnipotent God. This book presents the best news ever! No political spin! No big business here! No financial profiteering! Just the simple, unalterable truth from the ONLY reliable source of truth - the Holy Bible. Chapter 1

The Origins Of All Human Problems

To propose a solution for anything, it is necessary first to know the starting point. Seeing a movie from the halfway point leaves many unanswered questions. To understand a child, it is always wise to know the parents. History provides an appropriate perspective to help us understand the present human problems and predict the future. In this first chapter, I will answer the following questions:

When did human life begin?

When did human problems begin?

What is the basic human problem that generates all the other problems?

How did the problems grow to become universal?

A. Evolution or Creation?

This is perhaps the most important foundational question to answer. If evolution is the correct explanation for the existence of this world and humanity, then nothing is really a problem. Logically, it would mean that war, murder, genocide, ethnic cleansing, rape, adultery, homosexuality, pedophilia, greed, poverty, cancer, and all the other issues explored in this book, are not problems but a natural outcome of the evolutionary process. Perhaps, evolution needs another one hundred million years to arrive at its destination, whatever that may be. The truth is that evolution has never been verified as fact nor indeed can it ever be. A belief in evolution does not make it true any more than believing that you will not die. Every human will die! Evolution never happened!

Today in the United States of America, and in most Western nations too, agnosticism and atheism are rising sharply. A recent study, conducted and released by Pew Research, discovered that the number of Americans who claim atheism, agnosticism or no particular religion grew from 16 percent in 2007 to 23 percent in 2014. Sadly, the same research discovered that the number of Americans professing belief in Christianity fell from 78 percent to 71 percent within the same period. The trend is that increasing millions are openly rejecting the belief in God, Who is Creator and to Whom all people are accountable. However, for me and possibly, 5 billion humans out of 7.6 billion (including Jews, Christians, Muslims, Hindus and other religions), the existence of God is not debatable or negotiable. No research or debate can determine God’s existence. Either He exists or He does not exist. Either you believe or not believe.

If you are struggling with this issue I ask you to study this book with an open mind. I pray that by the end of your study, you will be convinced that God does exist; and He has a plan for your life. If you are still unsure, you may want to study other books that specifically address this matter.

1. Creation - The Biblical Documentation

Based on my own research, decades of academic study, and over sixty years of life, including the priceless experience of traveling to, and interacting with people from diverse nations (USA, Canada, Trinidad, Jamaica, Guyana, India, Pakistan, Vietnam, Cambodia, Malaysia, Israel, Cote D’Ivoire, Ghana,

Cameroon, Netherlands, etc.) and of different religions, I am absolutely certain that creation is the way by which humans came into existence. Of course, many will object on the grounds that religion is bewildering and uncertain. Which religion is true? Which holy book should we accept? The subjects of God and religions are addressed in later chapters. These chapters will open your eyes to some disquieting facts. For now, I will use as my foundation the account of creation recorded in the first book of the Holy Bible, Genesis.

The very word, ‘Genesis’ is translated from the Hebrew, ‘B’resheet’, meaning ‘beginnings’. The book of Genesis begins unequivocally, not with doubts or suggestions. In Genesis 1:1 we read, "In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth." Most Christians believe in a literal creation. In fact, most religious people believe in creation. For most of human history, the majority of humans have believed in creation - that life began as an act of creation by the God of the universe. Evolution is a relatively new phenomenon, devised by Satan, the chief enemy of God. [More about Satan in Chapter 4]

According to the Genesis account, God created everything in six days. Then He rested on the seventh day. The creation story, according to many Bible scholars, occurred about 6,000 years ago. This entire creation account is difficult to comprehend, but the purpose of this book is not to tackle these specifics. The relevant issue here is that man was created by God during this creation week. Man is not the end product of some vague, indistinguishable, evolutionary process spanning millions of years. Man is the precise creation of the Creator, YHVH. [More about this specific name in Chapter 3]

First Day: Light

Second Day: The dry land and the seas

Third Day: Plant life: trees, grass, herbs, fruit trees etc

Fourth Day: The sun and moon

Fifth Day: Sea creatures and air creatures

Sixth Day: Land animals, Man

Seventh Day: The Sabbath Day

Genesis 1:26-28 (Here is what God said pertaining to the creation of humans)

Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness; let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over the cattle, over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth. So God created man in His own image; in the image of God, He created him; male and female, He created them. Then God blessed them, and God said to them, Be fruitful and multiply; fill the earth and subdue it; have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over every living thing that moves on the earth.

A diligent study of the first two chapters of Genesis reveals that God created Adam and Eve that they might have a holy and joyful relationship with Him, and with each other; and rule over the earth. He performed the first wedding ceremony - one man with one woman. This was to be the model for all humans thereafter. He provided for them everything they would need for their survival and growth. Surely, the first human couple was living in paradise. In this Garden of Eden, the first humans enjoyed the perfect life. There was no human problem. No conflicts, no sickness, no poverty, no hatred. What a beautiful life for the first humans!

But another being had been observing, who having become terribly disgruntled, was eagerly seeking an opportunity to wreak havoc with this glorious relationship in which two happy, contented humans were honoring the LORD GOD.

B. Satan: The Chief Adversary of God and Deceiver of Humanity

Ever since Satan (formerly, Lucifer) was evicted by God from Heaven, he is fixated on obstructing anything that God does. After God had given clear instructions to man about life and other relevant matters, Satan sought opportunity to speak with Eve. He was not happy that these humans were enjoying such happiness and wonderful communion with God. He himself, with his millions of demons (angels of God who had followed Satan in his rebellion against God), is always miserable. Why then should he permit these humans to enjoy life? Why should God have such pleasure with humans? Since God had given him jurisdiction (with limitations) over the earth, he decided to capture the first couple by his basic modus operandi - deception. By so doing, he would hijack humanity, and bring upon them immeasurable suffering, pain and death. What could he lose by trying? Nothing. So off he went to meet with Eve in his malicious plan to disrupt and steal their joy, and enslave them to his evil control.

No one can declare with certainty how long after the creation Satan entered the Garden of Eden to have this meeting with Eve. Chapter 3 of Genesis gives us the details of this meeting. The end results of this meeting were the worst thing that could have ever happened to humans.

Genesis 3:1-5

Now the serpent was more cunning than any beast of the field which the LORD GOD had made. And he said to the woman, Has God indeed said, ‘You shall not eat of every tree of the garden’? And the woman said to the serpent, "We may eat the fruit of the trees of the garden; but of the fruit which is in the midst of the garden, God has said, ‘You shall not eat of it, nor shall you touch it, lest you die.’ "

⁴Then the serpent said to the woman, "You will not surely die. For God knows that in the day you eat of it your eyes will be opened and you will be like God, knowing good and evil."

This conversation between Satan and Eve is foundational to understand how all human problems began. I direct your attention to some essential facts:

Satan did not come to Eve as the devil, the enemy of God. To do so would be naive and futile. He deliberately appeared to Eve as a friendly creature. Using this approach, he would captivate her attention and trust.

Satan did not begin the conversation by denying the existence of God. Such a move would be naive because Satan knew that Eve had already spoken to her Creator.

Satan quoted God in an effort to establish common ground so that he could engage Eve in deeper conversation.

Unsuspectingly, Eve fell for the snare, oblivious of the deception in this seemingly innocent conversation.

Satan did not deny God’s existence or words; he simply created doubt about God in Eve’s mind. He directly and deliberately contradicted the Almighty God, Who alone is Truth. In other words, Satan lied. Notice also his subtle twist when Satan approached Eve, Has God indeed said. He did not use the correct word, command. This is the essential nature of Satan - liar and deceiver. A skilled liar mixes truth with lies.

What exactly had God commanded? The answer is found in Genesis 2:16-17:

And the LORD God commanded the man, saying, Of every tree of the garden you may freely eat; but of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil you shall not eat of it, for in the day that you eat of it, you shall surely die.

Observe carefully that God warned, you shall surely die. But Satan countered by saying, You will not surely die. Put another way, Satan was accusing God of lying. Whom should Eve believe and obey? Even now humans are still wrestling with this question. Whom will you believe and obey? YHVH the Creator, or Satan, the liar?

Every Bible student knows that Eve obeyed the devil in this matter. Instead of obeying the Holy Eternal God, her Creator and Provider, she chose to obey the enemy of God. Eve sinned! Adam, her husband, also ate of that fruit so he too sinned! At this point in human history sin entered. The entrance of sin would forever change the course of the future of humanity. The beauty, harmony, joy and peace of man’s relationship with God and with each other was shattered! The consequences of sin are devastating for all humanity.

C. Effects of The Original Sin

Let us return to the narrative in Genesis 3.

Genesis 3:7-11

Then the eyes of both of them were opened, and they knew that they were naked; and they sewed fig leaves together and made themselves coverings. And they heard the sound of the LORD God walking in the garden in the cool of the day and Adam and his wife hid themselves from the presence of the LORD God among the trees of the garden. Then the LORD God called to Adam and said to him, Where are you? So he said, I heard Your voice in the garden, and I was afraid because I was naked; and I hid myself.’ And He said, Who told you that you were naked? Have you eaten from the tree of which I commanded you that you should not eat?"

From these few verses we can derive some essential facts:

Their eyes were opened. What does this mean? They had not been created blind. But suddenly something had happened. They became aware of their own physical nakedness. Worse, they had now become spiritually naked.

They hid from the presence of the LORD. Whereas before, they had enjoyed God’s presence and must have eagerly anticipated it, now they wanted to avoid God. That is exactly the pattern for all humans. Sin causes us to run away from God. It is never that God wants to avoid us, but that sinners avoid Him.

Adam and Eve offered the ludicrous excuse that they were naked. Funny indeed! God had personally created them naked, and spoken with them while they were naked. How absurd humans become when we know that we have done wrong but are not mature and humble enough to confront truth.

God already knew what had occurred. Any effort to rationalize or digress from the facts cannot change the facts with God. Confession of sin to God is better than avoidance and blame shifting.

Little, if any at all, could the first humans have imagined the awful consequences of this first sin for them and for all generations to follow thereafter! Satan had done his evil job. Adam and Eve had disobeyed God. Now it was time for God to judge. When God judges, man’s opinions and excuses are irrelevant.

Now, we shall understand the painful and deadly consequences of this first human sin. To properly comprehend this historical event is to understand all the human problems we have suffered since that day until now, and will suffer until the final solution becomes reality.

1. God’s Judgment Upon Sin

Sin is not without cost. God had decreed and warned the first humans about the value of obedience. Their sin carried serious consequences not only for them, but for all mankind thereafter. After thousands of years of human suffering, it is heartbreaking today to observe that most people still do not honor and reverence God and His laws.

Genesis 3:14-19

So the LORD God said to the serpent: "Because you have done this, you are cursed more than all cattle, and more than every beast of the field; on your belly you shall go, and you shall eat dust all the days of your life. And I will put enmity between you and the woman, and between your seed and her Seed; He shall bruise your head, and you shall bruise His heel."

¹⁶To the woman He said: "I will greatly multiply your sorrow and your conception; in pain you shall bring forth children; your desire shall be to your husband, and he shall rule over you."

¹⁷Then to Adam He said: "Because you have heeded the voice of your wife, and have eaten from the tree of which I commanded you, saying, ‘You shall not eat of it’: "Cursed is the ground for your sake; in toil you shall eat of it all the days of your life. ¹⁸Both thorns and thistles it shall bring forth for you, and you shall eat the herb of the field. ¹⁹In the sweat of your face you shall eat bread till you return to the ground, for out of it you were taken; For dust you are, and to dust you shall return."

From this judgment of God, we note the disastrous consequences of sin:

Eternal enmity between Satan and humans. Further, we note that this Seed of the woman is a clear reference to Christ, the Messiah, who will be persecuted by the devil but ultimately conquer Satan and rule forever. Satan did "bruise His heel" when Christ suffered the death on the Cross. But Christ rose from the dead and is now awaiting His return to dethrone Satan forever.

Women will experience great pain in giving birth.

The male-female relationship will be one of conflict, competition, struggle for power and control - the battle of the sexes. Men will rule over women and exploit them in many ways.

The earth was cursed. The production of food would become a very challenging task requiring much toil and energy, and hampered by noxious weeds and thorns. Today most of the food supply is toxic, not because of God’s curse but man’s greed - sin.

Humans will suffer pain, age, decay, and die. No food, medicine, drug, scientific or medical triumph can prevent the inevitable process of aging, decay, and death. How foolish it is that humans knowing these facts still refuse to humble themselves before God!

After God pronounced His judgments upon humans, He then cast out the first humans from the Garden of Eden. How Satan must have delighted with evil pleasure over man’s fall, and gloated in man’s agony! How smug he must have felt as he congratulated himself on his derailment of mankind! From this moment until that future day when he shall be dethroned, mankind would remain under the evil reign of Satan and his kingdoms of men, limited only by God’s sovereign intervention.

2. The Failure of the First Human Family

Therefore it is no surprise that the very first human family was a tragic failure. According to the account in Genesis 4, Cain resented his own brother, Abel, and murdered him in the open field. Why did Cain murder Abel? God had asked both to bring an offering to Him. Abel presented to the LORD the best of his flock. God was pleased. But Cain presented to the LORD an offering that was not the best. So God was displeased, and corrected Cain. Let’s follow the narrative in Genesis 4.

Genesis 4:6-8

So the LORD said to Cain, "Why are you angry? And why has your countenance fallen? If you do well, will you not be accepted? And if you do not do well, sin lies at the door. And its desire is for you, but you should rule over it." Now Cain talked with Abel his brother; and it came to pass, when they were in the field, that Cain rose up against Abel his brother and killed him.

How heartbreaking that the very first human family allowed itself to come under the control of Satan! The first parents, Adam and Eve, directly disobeyed God; then the first human conceived by human parents, Cain, murdered his own brother. Within this first family, we identify the many dimensions and dynamics of sin: deception, disbelief, pride, lust of the eyes, lying, blame shifting, anger, envy, resentment, hatred, vengeance, and murder.

From this moment on, mankind would follow the same pattern of sin resulting in the horrible, painful effects upon humanity. The first family was the prototype for all other families thereafter. Imagine how different it would have been for the first family, and all who came after, if they had chosen to obey the LORD GOD Who had created them and provided for them all that they needed.

3. All Human Problems are Rooted in Sin!

All human problems are rooted in sin. This is not a popular perspective but it is the truth. People, especially in materially rich nations, loathe the use of the word, ‘sin’ - another derivative of Satan’s deception. Often, world leaders declare with authority that the cause of humanity’s problems is one or more of the following (depending on their particular world view): poverty, racism, sexism, religion, democracy, communism, the rich exploiting the poor, the whites suppressing the blacks, the Jews, the Christians, and anything else they can make up to mask their own ignorance, and prolong their evil rule over naive, uninformed people.

From Adam and Eve, sin has spread over all the earth in every nation and every generation. All humans are born with the Adamic nature of sin. Where there is sin, there will be suffering and death. As sin increases, the suffering increases. It is sin (Lawlessness, rebellion against God) that causes poverty, racism, sexism, political oppression, female enslavement, sexual abuse, economic exploitation, wars, terrorism and death. The leaders of this world are woefully ignorant of this basic truth and, consequently, ineffective in solving the burgeoning problems. Why? They are failing to confront the root problem. Therefore, as civilization continues, evil accelerates so that each succeeding generation becomes overwhelmingly burdened with human problems.

Romans 5:12-17

Therefore, just as through one man (Adam) sin entered the world, and death through sin, and thus death spread to all men, because all sinned. ..................... For if by the one man’s offense death reigned through the one, much more those who receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness will reign in life through the One, Jesus Christ.

Chapter 2

The Magnitude Of Human Problems

Now that we understand the origins of all human problems, the next step is to grasp its magnitude. This chapter requires a 6,000 years compendium of historical documentation, but that’s not possible in this book or any book. Let me reiterate that all human problems are the direct consequences of sin - rebellion against the Creator, YHVH. And sin is the premeditated work of Satan to bring humanity under his control, thereby, preventing humans from enjoying the perfect harmony and communion with God; and depriving him of the glorious future in the Kingdom of Christ.

Beginning with the first sin, as explained in the previous chapter, humanity simply grew increasingly worse with each generation of human beings until this generation of 2018, the generation that will be, I believe, the last one under Satan’s control. Praise God! From that time until now, every nation, every tribe of people, every language group, in every generation, has experienced the appalling horrors and awful pain of man’s civilization. The magnitude of human problems is beyond compilation and description. No number of books can ever adequately document the calamity of human suffering for six thousand years. How much less can a few chapters in this one book! In this chapter, I will give an overview, providing general facts about the nature and magnitude of human suffering as evidence of the human problem. In the chapters that follow, I will identify and expound on particular manifestations of human problems.

Since man’s expulsion from the Garden of Eden, and until the Kingdom of God is established, humanity has been plagued by increasingly insurmountable problems. Over the course of thousands of years, the inventory and intensity of the problems has grown, not shrunk. The fact of such increase is further proof that human beings do not, and cannot offer any effective solutions, in spite of all the rhetoric and boasts of politicians, scientists and others. An honest realistic appraisal of world history and a candid examination of current trends worldwide substantiate the magnitude of human problems manifested in the following: [This list is not intended to be complete]

Violence: domestic abuse, abortions, murders, terrorism, beheadings, civil wars, world wars,

Sexual sins: rapes, prostitution, pre-marital sex, adultery, group sex, pornography, homosexuality, bisexuality, transgenderism, pedophilia, incest.

Mental and Emotional Disorders: depression, suicides, mood and anxiety disorders, psychoses.

Substance addiction: alcohol, illegal drugs and legal drugs.

Physical diseases: cancer, stroke, influenza, heart disease, cholera, malaria, sexually transmissible diseases, allergies, arthritis, asthma, Alzheimer’s, diabetes, blindness.

Starvation and malnutrition which kill millions every year.

Theft: burglaries, embezzlement, economic exploitation, credit card fraud.

Poverty: most of the world’s population live in poverty - lacking adequate food, water, shelter, and the basic amenities of life.

Greed: the obsession with money and wealth that is the basis for much evil.

Oppression and subjugation of women: sexual slavery, sex trade, economic exploitation.

Natural disasters: floods, cyclones, tornadoes, volcanoes, earthquakes, blizzards, landslides, heat waves, freezing temperatures, wildfires, droughts, lightning strikes, etc.

Man-produced disasters: nuclear blasts, chemical and biological warfare, cyber attacks, traffic fatalities (land, sea and air), lethal legal drugs and deliberate food poisons.

Religion: spiritual deception and abuse of billions of people in the name of false gods.

The prolonged persecution and slaughter of Jews (for 3,500 years) and Christians (for 2,000 years) by various religions and governments, mainly now, by Islamic radicals. According to observers of Christian persecution, Christians experienced the most persecution in 2017.

The above list of fourteen is provided so that you get a glimpse of the pervasiveness, diversity and complexity of human suffering. Obviously, the extent of suffering is not the same in every nation but overall, the enormity of human suffering is mind boggling.

B. Human Problems Common to All Nations

Let’s get real about life on this earth. Take a close look at Table 1. You will observe that China and India account for 2.76 billion (36%) of the world’s people. Do you have any idea of the extent of suffering in these two nations: endemic poverty, massive educational ignorance, systemic violation of human rights (especially, in Communist China), systemic persecution of Christians in both nations, oppression of females, political corruption at every level, systemic bribery of law enforcement officials, and of course, all the normal evils of every nation?

I have had the privilege to visit India 15 times exploring villages, towns and cities all over the nation. The enormity of suffering is beyond words. I can still vividly remember my very first visit 16 years ago. What culture shock! I was flabbergasted at the magnitude of poverty, the numerous street beggars, religious bigotry, worship of innumerable idols (including animals: monkey, cow, serpent, elephant), female subjugation, orphaned children, the prevalence of sickness, and more shocking than anything I had ever witnessed - the use of the public roads and rice fields in the villages as places of defecation. I hasten to clarify that I am not accusing India of being morally, religiously, or politically inferior to any other nation. Personally, I have enjoyed spending time with the people of India, and I am grateful for their hospitality, warmth, simplicity, spicy foods and genuine care. There are several aspects of life in India which I prefer over life here in the USA. My point is that every nation on this earth is plagued by certain common human problems that have defied human solutions.

Take a world map and scan the twenty five nations on Table 1. Now think about the rest of the nations, including the one in which you live. Is there one nation you can point to as an example for all the other nations? Is there one nation that exemplifies genuine freedom and justice for all races and groups? Is there any nation on this earth where people are free from the scourge of violence, poverty, greed, racism, bigotry, injustice, deadly diseases, political ineptitude, religious persecution, economic exploitation, rape, murder, theft, natural disasters and all the other human problems?

Oftentimes, I scan the world map on the wall of my office at home, and perform a quick mental check list of the problems of the nations that are currently making news headlines. This is always a very sobering exercise, reminding me of man’s greed, selfishness, lust for power and wealth, obsession with personal aggrandizement, materialism, appetite for sin, lack of compassion for the masses, and overall indifference to the plight of human suffering. And then I pray, ‘Lord, Thy Kingdom come.’

Many times in my travels to nations in Asia and Africa, I have asked this question to groups of people, Would you like to come and live in the USA? Not surprisingly, the majority of people raise their hands in the affirmative. Then, I stun them with my response, "Don’t make that mistake. Even in your impoverishment, you can accomplish more for Christ, and serve your own people better here. If you come to America, you may quickly lose your relationship with God, and become a victim of our secular culture.
