CHAPTER ONE

Danny and his family recently moved from Green Lane to Honey Vale. He is new and nervous about going to school. Danny has a sister but no brothers, so he hopes to make a new best friend at his new school.

At six o’clock Monday morning, Danny’s mom woke him up. Rise and shine, Wiggly, she whispered as she pulled the covers off him.

Mom! Danny cried. I am scared to go to school.

Now Wiggly, said Mrs. Ginger, you’ll be fine. I will walk you all the way to school.

Mom, Danny whispered in a soft voice, are you going to do this to me again? Are you? The last time you walked me to school the children laughed at me. You cried and kept on saying ‘my baby Wiggly, I love you.’ From that day on, no one called me by my real name. Everyone called me Wiggly the Wigworm."

Upon arriving at the school, Ms. Molly, the teacher, met Danny and his mom at the door, and took them to his classroom where Danny saw the other students. They all turned into Danny’s direction.
