Hudson Fowler was sitting at the kitchen table in the dark, sneaking a midnight snack, when the shadow of an eerie creature came around the corner. It startled him so badly that he pounced on his chair, clenching the knife he had just used to spread the peanut butter and blueberry jam onto his sandwich with for protection.
Oh, it’s just you,
he said as his little sister, Jennie, came into sight. He released the grip he had on the butter knife and sat back down on his chair. He was a little relieved she wasn’t a zombie, which had been his first thought when he saw her shadow, but his relief turned quickly to disappointment. It would have made a pretty cool story to tell his friends at school in the morning. He could have been the super brave and ultra cool hero that saved all the residents of Mayfair Heights from a pack of evil zombies.
