When Dr. John Jacobs heard about the neighbouring excavation find from Nurse Jennifer Perez, his foot seemed to go numb in her hand. She had been massaging it after he faked spraining his ankle when he had climbed down the dug-out of the tomb earlier. He wanted an excuse to talk to the expedition nurse since the previous day. John was attracted to Jennifer ever since the physician back at his alma mater university in the U.S. examined him for the project. But he wanted her even more when he first arrived at the expedition camp a day ago.
John had been walking to the medical tent when he saw the strange appearance: an Asian girl with black, bobbed hair walking towards his direction. Even though he thought she could be native to the Sino-Indian border region, he knew she could not have been from too nearby. The young native women he had seen in the area of the excavation were fully clothed in traditional, baggy garments. This girl wore white, high-cut shorts that showed brown legs gleaming in the desert sunlight so much they may as well had been gold. And the white shirt she wore nearly showed the precise shape of her lean torso and mounting breasts. He never liked Asian women more until then. But when she emerged from the heat glimmer, John saw that the girl’s facial features were Mexican. Jennifer. She was off duty that day and so, without her nurse’s uniform, looked seven years younger than Jacobs’ 27.
Jennifer said the neighbouring expedition uncovered a temple two months ago that was thought to pre-date Hinduism.
