Rebecca Newton leaned against the counter in The Flower Shop. She clasped her porcelain, red-tipped fingernails in front of her and lifted her ankles, crossing them one over the other.

She closed her eyes and leaned over the counter, reflecting on their first night in Ireland. The limo ride to the restaurant hadn’t been the first indication Haden Prescott had her sights set on Brett Danforth.

Rebecca took several deep breaths. In the beginning, she hadn’t intended on falling for Brett. They needed one another to break-up Alexis and Chris. What she hadn’t counted on was the more time she spent with Brett, the harder she fell.

She lost Chris Thompson to Alexis Belle. It would be over her dead body before she lost Brett to Haden. They’d been home from their senior trip for a little over a week.
