It is a book for those who have a limited understanding of Italian or are studying the language but are unsure of the word to use in any given case. The author's sentences take us past the fundamentals by contextualizing the words. This is very beneficial to me as a learner. It's a fantastic resource that I'm sure I'll return to again and again.

Very much beneficial and comprehensive. Mastering Italian Words is a book that has numerous vocabulary for every situation that you may find yourself. However, I suggest using this book only if you want to widen your Italian vocabulary not if you want to learn conversational Italian.

Nevertheless, this book fulfilled its purpose by imparting knowledge about Italian words. On one hand, the strength of this book is that it's like a dictionary. It has almost all Italian words and its meaning. On the other hand, Foreign readers may find it challenging to pronounce the words since there is no pronunciation.

All in all, it's a good book and I highly recommend it for people who wants to learn Italian words.

it is really helpful in familiarizing yourself with some Italian words. There are words that has more than one meaning and/or way to spell it and the book gives different examples for the readers to grasp how it is used in a sentence. For me, it is easier to learn it this way so you know when it must be used in conversations. The examples are constructed in a conversation-like manner. That way, the readers can already practice them and even use them in certain situations. Nice!

It provides the basic words, phrases, and sentences that would lead me to understanding the language on a deeper sense. This book is simply comprehensive and not too hard to understand for a beginner like me. You just really need to work for it a little bit harder to improve your vocabulary. Nevertheless, this book is a good read I can recommend to you all!

Comprehensible and easy to use. It contains words that is suitable for beginners and there are examples for each word. The book also gives you an overview on how to use the words in a conversational manner. But I think it would have been nice if the book has a short context on how to pronounce the words. I only know a little about Italian but to some languages that I've studied, there are words that might look and sound the same but it differs in meaning. I think it is something to take note. Nevertheless, I love it and I highly recommend this book!

Never let the opportunity to learn another new language pass.

Without further ado, I loved the way this book is written in general. It's like you're carrying mini Italy at hand because this dictionary-like book will hook you with much about Italy, their people, culture and the language they use. In a spectacular way, some of their words, that are beautiful enough to be spoken and means great and widely used, had no actual English equivalent as a word but then the meaning is just so cool. I myself became invested with having this book, probably because I heard a lot about Italy and how come I find their accent sexy. The thing here, with the use of the common words, you can train your Italian lexicon and fluency if you start reading this by now. Precise and concise in way that it guarantees readers to master the language that is considered as one of the most difficult script to learn.

Yay! This book is indeed timely! I am currently watching the Vincenzo, a Korean Drama where the main character is an Italian-American. The words and phrases listed in the book varies from commonly used words up to the ones that are used in specific location or happening. So far, my favorite Italian word is "dolce", which means "sweet".

Out of the languages that I wanted to learn, Italian has always been one of the list. I can't say that it is easy because learning a language is hard. But I like that this book does not just put Italian words in one book and then define it, it also gives examples which gives a hint on how to properly use it. But I'd prefer if words were categorized regardless this one is still great and fun to read.

Introduction

Would you like to improve your Italian but do not like grammar? Would you like to study Italian but have already tried classic methods and want a different approach? Well, this is the book you need. In fact, for those who already have some concept of Italian, this guide offers you a wide range of words to refresh your grammar rules and help you learn the meaning of different words and how they change depending on the context. On the other hand, for those who want an innovative and dynamic approach to Italian, this manual offers you the opportunity to deduce grammar, including different tense uses. Therefore, you have the chance to learn lots of words, which is needed while learning a new language.

If you are asking yourself if this method is actually useful or not, consider that it represents a new modern learning system, which includes an active memorizing and review process, using metacognition. This explanation may not sound immediate, so here is how it works.

This method is based on the idea that grammar rules are not presented as abstract but used in their natural context. And if you think that the main purpose of a language is to be spoken, what would be better than working directly with words?

As often proposed by schools and language courses, grammar is a set of rules that require the learner to memorize the names of special linguistic categories. However, if you think about a language in its meta-linguistic definition, there is more in the learning process: terms, notions, topics, and the language itself. Classic learning models are based on meta-linguistic definitions, which are never used when a person learns a language—only when listening to it, as children do. To make it easier: you do not need an article to be called as such, as the most important thing is to know how to use it. So, targeting and studying linguistic definitions is a waste of time, especially if your goal is to have a basic knowledge of a language so that you can speak it in a reasonable time, putting aside years and years of studying.

Thus, memorizing words via this book’s process is simpler, as you can always use the sentences you learn by recalling the words you need. This is how you get the chance to learn Italian fast, enjoying your learning process much more than you would if you used the classic methods. Step by step, sentence by sentence, word by word, you will find yourself more and more comfortable with the language. This is the dynamic immersion method, which is based on how kids learn their mother tongue. But it is also built on how the brain works to memorize. The brain is a huge net of neurons linked with each other, creating thousands of links and combinations that characterize memory. The more links and combinations your neurons have, the more things you will memorize. The more associations you create with words, images, or translations into your language, the more you will remember them. Also, never forget that your brain’s storage capability is always much larger than a computer’s. So, nothing stops you from learning languages.

Each word and sentence is translated step by step, and this is because translation—together with oral comprehension, conversation, and grammar—is one of the most significant and common tools used by language teachers, tutors, and manuals. This guide is not meant to give you the tools you will need to translate texts—which is part of another type of tutoring and education. The purpose of translations here is to show you how words, concepts, and expressions are proposed in another language that is not your mother tongue. And, again, it is supposed to be learned in context, not from rules.

Sentences propose not only grammar focuses that determine how to build a sentence and how to use pronouns, prepositions, and verbs, but also particular words, which differ for sounds and letters. Of course, you will find that all words have many meanings (i.e., ideas or objects linked to that word), or change meaning depending on the context. Moreover, sentences themselves are easy but are always written as a native speaker would write them. The translations given try to follow the natural flow and used expressions of English, and are literal so that making a correspondence—a link between the two languages—does not represent hard work for learners, who are reading this book without the tutoring of a teacher. So, sentences appear to be true, created by a spontaneous speaker. At each point, you will find a focus on particular words, but this does not mean that those are the only elements you can get from it. On the contrary, many other important elements will be useful for learning purposes. As mentioned, the structure is easy but can be repetitive. This should help you get the meaning more easily and faster without facing too many difficulties from sentence to sentence.

You may be thinking that learning Italian from a list of sentences could be not useful when you find yourself talking to a native speaker because they go off the beaten track. However, this book contains a list of beneficial sentences that show you how words work in different contexts. And the context is what will provide you a way to get through the communication system, avoiding misunderstandings linked to the fact that you may have missed a word.

Now, it is time to move on and learn how to use this guide.

Supposing that you have already studied Italian—even just a bit—what you will have to do is read the title containing the words and try and memorize them using the translations proposed. Then, read the sentences one by one. At the end of each reading, focus on the translation, and revise all the grammar rules. Now, you should be ready to view words and create a sentence on your own. If you have never studied Italian before, do not worry. The steps are the same, except for the grammar rule revision one. In this case, you should pay it more attention and try to focus on what grammar rule is used and how it works.

If you read the book from the beginning to the end following these steps, you will finish it with a wider and more general knowledge of Italian words. If you don’t have time to follow all the steps, feel free to only focus on some points. Another advantage of this learning method is that there is no need to be afraid to skip some parts, as there’s no set line or path to follow. Hence, technically, you could randomly open the book and keep studying it for years and years. This book is not an educational manual; it is a source you can use in any way you
