Jonus Stone is sent to Buckingham Palace on a case that is frankly beneath him. Her Majesty Queen Victoria wants him to find her missing daughter. Jonus wants to prove that it is a waste of his time and expertise.

 

As it turns out, the princess isn't difficult to find, but she brings with her a disturbing story which, if true, is something that Jonus should be very concerned about.

Jonus and the princess work together, but there are those in the palace who would see them both dead before allowing their secret to be revealed.

The carriage door opened and Jonus climbed out carefully. A little less than a week ago he had still been using a stick to walk with and still felt vulnerable.
